CHAPTER 32
Keaton was fuming with anger especially after knowing that the men of sacrifice lost her while they were following her.
Even though Keaton knew that as long as a normal human being attacks her, she will be fine, he was worried about other supernatural creatures. What if some vampire, werewolf, demon or some pyscho from the church who thinks that witches should be eradicated finds her?
He just wanted to know what was going on in that head of hers and prayed that she was okay.
Everyone was looking at the time and it was nearly twelve midnight and the deadline to the response everyone was waiting for was approaching but the main character was nowhere to be found.
Nevaeh was in Isaac’s arms as she silently sobbed.
“Do you think that she is okay?”
“Nothing will happen to her, let’s just have some faith in her besides a lot of professional people are out searching for her,” Isaac consoled his wife as he rubbed her back.
“I hope that we didn’t drive her to the extreme. Do you think this is why she ran away from home?” Nevaeh was in another panic again and this time Darcie began to sob loudly.
“D-do you think…that we…I ..” Darcie kept sobbing and Jackson didn’t know what to do but hug his woman.
He also didn’t feel well with everything that had just happened. All of a sudden Encha disappeared and couldn’t be reached and everything happened on this day. Did they made the wrong choice by showing up in her life the way they did?
Jackson looked at his friend who had not said a single word for hours, his veins were bulging and he didn’t want to think what was going inside that head.
If anything was to happen to Encha he knew that Keaton will never forgive him and Darcie and the friendship built over the years will be thrown into the trash. There was no one that Keaton cared more for than Encha and now that kitten was nowhere to be found.
“She will be okay,” Keaton spoke for the first time in hours and every eye was on her.
No one spoke and simply hoped that it will be as he said because no one could say anything after that. They were afraid of provoking the crouching tiger so just silently agreed.
When everyone was worried and pacing down like maniacs, a response from one of the guards outside the house.
When Keaton heard what the other person said through the earpiece, he immediately rushed outside without saying anything and everyone followed suit because only one thing will make him react like that and it will be news of Encha.
When Keaton sped outside, he found Encha wearing one guilty face as she walked aimlessly around. He didn’t know whether to be angry or not. He simply took long strides towards her and scooped her in his arms.
“Don’t ever do that again!” he roared with gritted teeth.
Encha wanted to just hide and repent, she knew what she did was over the top but by the time she realized that it was already late, time had already flown. She really ran back fast but never expected to see such a commotion at her house. She then realized just how messy she had made everything.
“I am sorry,” she apologized in a tearful voice, even Keaton could tell that she was truly being reproachful of herself but he was going to punish her as soon as everyone was done with her.
“Let’s go inside, everyone is waiting for you,” he said as he took her small hand in his.
Encha didn’t refuse but let Keaton lead her to where everyone was. She didn’t even lift her face as she was afraid of seeing how dejected her parents were.
Seeing that she was reflecting on her mistakes they didn’t say a word but let her get back inside the house, if they become harsh something bad may happen and that was an outcome they didn’t want to see.
Encha sat down next to Keaton as she didn’t want to sit next to her double parents, it will be painful for the other pair.
“I am sorry for disappearing like that. I just went out to think over some stuff but didn’t realize that it was already this late. Please, forgive me,” Encha apologized to everyone as she had made them worry throughout the day seeing how bloodshot their eyes were.
“Don’t ever disappear on us again, I don’t know what I will do if anything happens,” Nevaeh spoke in a teary tone, her sadness and pain could be felt by everyone and Encha the culprit couldn’t help but look at her foster mother and tears began to stream down her cheeks.
“I won’t do that again, I promise.”
“It’s good that you came back safe.”
After making sure that nothing bad or severe had happened to Enchantia the parents were now at ease but Encha wasn’t. She had come to a conclusion and this was something she had to do to make everyone be at ease.
“I thought about the situation very seriously the whole day and I found an answer,” she said as she looked at everyone in the sitting room before she continued, “and my decision is…...”
HOURS AGO
Encha left her house and took a taxi to the lookout point that is in the outskirts of the city. When she arrived there, she sat down and looked at the bustling city from up there.
The city looked prosperous but she knew that half of the people living there had their own problems. Only ten percent were the rich that didn’t need to struggle about what to eat, wear or where to sleep.
They didn’t even need to worry about anything for generations but others had to work daily from morning to evening in order to bring something to the table. Somewhere even struggling to keep up even with working hard like maniacs.
There were those who lived in downtowns, stealing and committing serious crimes for survival, many people were getting killed because of all sorts of reasons. Children were losing their parents while parents were losing their children.
She remembered how lonely it was for her when that Doreen was looking after her. How harsh life was that she wished that she was strong and when she became strong enough, she dealt with her and set herself free.
She didn’t even think that what she did was wrong, all she did was to just set herself free before leaving that haunting place. When she was in the orphanage and looking at children who had been abandoned by their parents, some lost their parents and so on, it was quite pitiful.
There were times where children will be taken away by their parents, the joy in the children’s eyes was very evident that she envied them a lot. So, when she finally found a couple that she liked she decided to go with them.
And now after many years her own biological parents had come for her, feeling remorse and she could tell that even though this was caused because of Doreen’s obsession, it wasn’t her biological parents’ fault.
It was very difficult to pry into a human being’s mind; they wouldn’t have known that she will go crazy and go to such great length just to deal with Darcie and Jackson.
