Chapter 16.
Estella’s POV.

Collin smash’s his body against the door as the room fills with dark smoke, the other Alpha’s rush up to help Collin as I cover my face and look around, the room is filled with people from all packs.
“Can everyone please crouch to the ground and cover your face.” I yell as I lean down under the smoke, another few men quickly shift in to their wolves and they start clawing at the main doors forcing them to open, everyone falls through the doors quickly standing to help others out of the building.

I stay crouched watching everyone leave as I notice little feet in the back of the room, I take off running towards the child swooping them up in my arms returning to the doors, by the time I reach the outside my eyes are burning from the smoke and the child is coughing aggressively and covered in soot.

“Take him to medical.” I say to one of the warriors as I turn around looking for Collin, I see a group of Alpha’s standing near the road talking to each other while helping other wolves that had a harder time getting out.
“Hey does anyone know where Collin is?” I ask looking around for him.

“He came out with us and started helping others out, we haven’t seen him since we came this way to start counting our pack members to make sure everyone’s ok.” The one says softly to me as my head snaps back to the doors of the grand hall and I see him.
“COLLIN!” I scream as I see him stumbling out holding an older man up, I run to them as the old man collapses and I lean forward catching him. Collin can barley hold himself up, I call for help as 2 medics rush over taking their vitals.

I walk over to the Alpha’s again.
“Is everyone accounted for?” I ask, each Alpha nods to me as I feel my chest relax.
“Thank you Luna.” One of them says to me, I give them a small smile as I turn going to find Steele, I find her standing by a bin handing out waters.
“Oh gosh Luna, I didn’t know where you went.” She says quickly.
“I’m fine, is our pack accounted for?” I ask.
“Yes everyone is ok a few marks and smoke inhalation but everyone’s ok, how’s Alpha?” She asks quietly.

“I’m going to check on him now, he went back in for another person after it got bad, I left both of them with the medics.” I say as Steele nods to me continuing to help our pack members.
“Everyone is welcome in the pack houses and castle. I will be doubling our warriors on watch as well as adding another shift to help with exhaustion, Alpha’s?” I say turning to them.

“If you have any warrior’s that would like to volunteer for watch please let me know, I’m going to see Alpha Collin’s as he’s been taken to medical and see what he would like to do about the situation.” I say confidently as the yelling starts from the wolves standing around me.
“IT WAS THE ROUGES!” Someone shouts and another person agrees.

I put my hand up silencing the crowd quickly.
“Regardless we need to make a plan, I will speak with Alpha Collin’s and we will make a proper plan of attack so we don’t walk in to a slaughter!” I say as they all look between each other and back to me shocked that I spoke up to them. Alpha Orlando smiles as another rolls his eyes at me, I turn walking to the medic centre as every one begins to go to the pack house.

I walk in as Collin is laying on a bed with an oxygen mask on.
“How are you?” I ask sweetly running my hands through his hair.
“I’m ok just some smoke inhalation so they wanted me to take some oxygen, I should be good in a hour or so.” He says smiling.

“The Alpha’s think it was another attack.” I say as his eyes widen.
“Collin I think we need to send some scouts out now and see if we can get any information.”
“Estella our scouts didn’t come back when we sent them last time.” He says softly.
“Tell the Alpha’s I will be out in an hour to discuss a plan.” He says putting his mask back on.
“Ok.” I say nodding. “I’m glad you’re ok.”
“I’m glad you’re ok too.” He says back. “And you’re doing great as Luna.” He says kissing my hand before I turn to leave again.

I stop in the hallway taking a minute to myself to breath, I’ve been Luna for like an hour now and the pack was almost burnt down. Thank god for Steele, she is helping so much dealing with our pack as I tend to the other Alpha’s, I truly admire her ability to take charge. I continue walking back to the pack house, the doors are wide open and I hear men arguing.

"ENOUGH!" I say walking in.
"Alpha Collin’s will join us in an hour, the doctors would like him to stay on oxygen for a little longer. Then he will hold a meeting with the rest of you to make a decision on our next steps, their are guest rooms everyone can stay in and we can set up cots throughout the games room. Everyone will stay in the castle until this is settled." Everyone nods back to me as I pull Alpha Orlando aside.

We were talking before the fire started about the fairies." I say softly.
"Can we please talk later when everything calms down?” He asks softly leaning in to me so others don’t hear.
“Anything you could tell me that you know about the fae or fairy magic could be very helpful." I beg to him eyes wide anxious for him to say yes.
"Yes we can talk in the morning I’ll sit with you and Collin and answer any questions you may have." He responds making me smile brightly.

"Thank you so much, you don’t know how much this means to me." I say taking his hands in mine. Next I go find the cooks and have them prepare some finger foods and easy snacks for our guests it’s going to be a long night and some food won’t hurt. Steele comes in to the kitchen chugging a bottle of water as she sits down at the counter.

"You ok Luna?" She says softly gasping while she leans back.
"Yes I’m ok just tired, it’s going to be a long night and I have no idea what I’m doing." I say trying to take a deep breath without crying.
"You’re doing great, I mean considering the events of tonight you handled it super well." She says giving me a smile as I return it, standing to go back in to the games room. Everyone seems pretty content playing pool and watching tv mingling with each other when Collin walks in. I head off to bed while he finishes up, I plan to bug alpha Orlando tomorrow about my family.

When morning finally comes I spring from my bed charging to my closet to change before going to breakfast, coming downstairs I see Orlando and make a beeline for him. My heart pounds in my ears as I see him smile knowing I can’t contain it any longer.
“Come sit child.” He states as he drinks some of his juice.

I sit listening to him for over an hour talk about the frozen year and how some of the pixies managed to escape taking shelter in other lands, when they began growing the magical flowers some of the pixies split off knowing it wouldn’t go anywhere good. The fairy elders assisted the witches with the frozen year in order to ensure the other species safety, after our talk I decide to head back to our room to take a nap. Its been a long few days of taking in information and its made me very tired.
