Chapter 25.
Chapter 25.
Collin’s POV.
“WHERE ARE THEY!” I scream across the group of warriors in front of me.
“HOW WAS YOUR LUNA AND 2 PACK MEMBERS TAKEN OF PACK LANDS AND NO ONE HAS SEEN ANYTHING.” I say still shouting, rage pouring over making my Alpha aura fill the space bringing anger and dread.
Everyone bows their heads and silence crosses the crowd, I pace back and forth while Jasper howls loudly in my head missing our mate. The pack is all on edge due to my outburst and the fact that their luna is missing, I know I shouldn’t be so aggressive towards them but I cant control it. Every nerve in my body s on fire without her, I don’t know where she is and I cant feel her through the mate bond.
“We leave in groups of 5 scoping the forest and surrounding lands till we find them. I’m going to call the surrounding packs to send out a few teams as well, our goal is to find them and bring them home. We aren’t trying to find a fight.” I say in frustration dismissing everyone to begin there search as I take off to my office. I fight my body to do what I want, I seem to be trying to react on instinct. I fight the urge to smash everything in my path as I go, jasper howls loudly in my head again sending mother pulse of rage through me.
I call the surrounding packs informing them of the attack that just took place, a few of the Alpha’s decide to send out a couple of teams each, we now have the forest being combed for the girls, I walk in to our bedroom taking in the sweet smell of my mate. Misfit purrs frantically running circles around me as I let out a sigh, she can tell somethings wrong. I scratch her head leaning down to her for a moment before I capture Estella’s scent in my mind as Jasper rolls in frustration and we’re off.
I let Jasper take over bolting out the front door clearing the stairs with one long stride, I fly through the pack lands as the wind rush’s along my fur making it stand on end, all my nerves are on fire without her and images of her flash through my mind continuing to overwhelm me.
Reaching the forest I pin my nose to the ground sniffing frantically searching for her scent. Jasper forces forward as we continue looking, trailing over branches and sticks when a mind link comes in.
“Alpha we have something over by the south boarder.” My warrior states and I turn bolting towards the other side of the pack, south boarder? That’s not even where the rogues came in this time.
My feet pound with my heart beat as I race to the south boarder, I see 5 of my men standing just passed the tree line when I arrive.
“What did you find!” I demand with more anger then intended.
“We picked up on Steele’s scent but it seems to have spread out across the area.” They one states as I inhale sniffing the air deeply.
He’s right, there is a faint smell of the girls, there’s no trail to follow it’s like they are all around us. The smell is spotty almost like its been scattered around like dandelion seeds, did the rogues come in from the other side and escape from the south side? Is that how no one noticed? We were all to concerned with the boarder they attacked from, I called my warriors to come and help leaving the south side un guarded.
Guilt washes over me as my stomach turns, they planned it out perfectly and we got played for fools. I wonder around inhaling deeply trying to find somewhere the smell might be stronger. Accompanying the smell of the girls is a seeping wet scent of death that makes me gag harshly, I continue to widen my search as the others all watch me closely.
“Ok everyone, spread out and search the area.” I say through mind link as they all break off in to different directions continuing to look. We all search together going further and further away from each other until the smell is gone. We lost the girls and have no trail to follow. Jasper howls in pain as we all decide to take back off to the pack house leaving the other groups to continue the search.
Going in to my office I toss the papers off my desk in frustration, where the hell could they have went! I lay my head down on the desk and think to myself, if the rogues took them, where did they bring them and why? A knock at my door startles me from my thoughts as my head jolts up and I yell for them to enter as the big wooden door swings open.
“Alpha, another group came back, they claimed they picked up the girls scent over by the mountains.” Enzo states walking in with his head down, I feel his sorrow wash off him colliding with mine.
“What else?” I ask quickly knowing he’s stalling.
“It was only for a moment and then they lost their trail as well.” He says making me let out a loud heavy sigh that matches his.
He comes over sitting down at my desk in front of me, we both wait in silence for a few moments before it dawns on me, I need to call Loral and inform her of what has happened. I start moving paper work around that I had tossed in my fit of rage looking for my phone as Enzo watches my movements.
I dial the number and listen to the deafening rings waiting for an answer, a small voice finally comes from the other line as my heart sits in my throat and I’m unable to speak.
“Hello Clove County Palace, what can I help you with?” It says softly chiming through the line.
“I need to speak with Queen Loral please, it’s an emergency.” I say calmly as I hear her worry through the other end.
“Oh no! I will send you through right away!” Her little voice chimes again making me flinch from the sharp sound. The phone rings twice before Loral answers frantically.
“Hello? Alpha Collin’s! Is everything alright?” She stammers as I take a deep breath telling her the events of today.
“Oh no dear, do you know where they might be hiding them?” She asks as I hear commotion going on in the back ground.
“We’re not sure, we lost their scent over by the mountains.” I respond as the phone is silent for a moment.
“Ok I will be sending a team to your pack, you need to get them back quickly, I will ask around in the fae community to see if anyone knows anything about what the rogues could want with the girls.” She says as I sigh in relief.
“Thank you Loral I really appreciate it.” I answer before we hang up and I sit back for a moment trying to find out if I over looked something in the search, replaying everything over in my mind.
Enzo and I sit patiently waiting for our extra teams to arrive from the other packs, our teams are still out looking and it will be dark in a few hours. We are going to need to make quick work of this, I need my mate back in my bed. My blood boils not knowing if she’s ok or not.
