Chapter 31.
Chapter 31.
Estella’s POV.
I meet Loral back in the spell room, we join hands stepping through the door to her palace, entering her spell room on the other side, we see a middle aged woman sitting on the long satin iridescent couch with her legs crossed.
“Ah good to see you Diviner, this is my granddaughter Estella.” Loral introduces us as the small woman’s eyes light up.
“Yes dear, I met with your mother when she was pregnant with your older sister.” Diviner says as my face drops.
“You knew my mother?” I ask in shock as she smiles nodding at me, Loral and I sit down joining her to continue talking.
She tells us how my mother came to her when she was pregnant with Amelia to look in to our future, are father being a pixie worried my mother because of the stories she had heard about the new species. I guess Amelia was right about the rogues, I think to myself as they continue. Diviner was the one who told my mother to bind our powers and hide us.
“When your sister was a toddler she was kidnapped, which is why your mother gave you to the village in Clearwater.” My mouth drops again.
“Why didn’t she find me a family? She just left me.” I ask as she looks at me in confusion.
“Your mother didn’t leave you dear, she wanted you raised by the humans in hopes of you living a human life.” She finishes as I sit back taking in what she just said, my mother thought she was protecting me when in reality she made everything so much harder.
My mom handed me over to some lady’s to be raised and took my powers from me instead of protecting me and teaching me. My blood boils as I feel my magic rise, burning just beneath my skin and my rage fuels.
“Dear your magic.” Loral states making me realize the small sparks flying off my hands.
“Are you able to tell us whose looking for them?” Loral asks Diviner as she shakes her head.
“I know the girls are the only ones who can make the new species, honestly there could be more then one threat. If werewolf’s start to hear about the girls you’re going to have a hard time keeping them safe, every power driven Alpha is going to want to fill there pack with werefae children.” She explains as my hand subconsciously goes to my stomach.
“What about my daughter?” I ask softly. “How do I keep her safe?” I say looking down feeling defeated when we’ve barely even started.
“My suggestion is take your pack and neighbouring packs you trust and isolate, have Loral assist you in hiding your land the same way Clove County is hidden.” She looks to Loral for a response as she nods agreeing and I just lean back gently, unsure of how I feel.
We finish up our conversation and Diviner excuses herself, Loral turns to me placing her hand on my knee.
“We will handle this darling don’t worry.” She assures me softly. “Now you need to go speak to your mate and let him know what we are doing, he needs to notify the packs we will be cloaking. I need to get the elders of the elements ready for the ritual.” She says softly as I nod standing to go back through the door to my spell room.
I walk through the sparkling hallway that leads to my castle within minutes, opening the door to see the two small gnomes cowering in the corner.
“Mean wolves, mean wolves.” They both say over and over as they run circles around me and my heart pounds I try to mind link Collin quickly.
*Collin, Collin what happened? I’m in the spell room.* I say waiting for an answer while I comfort the little gnomes, a few moments later I hear him faintly.
*Estella hide! The rogues are back!* He yells through the link as I run up the stairs and lock the door to the spell room. I go back down to the little gnomes still trembling running around frantically.
I sit down trying to comfort the gnomes not knowing anything going on outside this room, a bright glow comes from the palace door as Loral walks through with 5 other woman.
“There was another attack Collin made me stay here.” I say as she grabs my hand pulling me up.
“Lets go, we’re not going to sit here waiting around.” She says as I follow her up the stairs with the other woman.
My heart pounds in my ears and my fingers feel numb, Loral throws the door open stepping through as loud howls and snarls fill the air, my eyes dart around as the castle is filled with fighting wolves. Blood drips down the walls and I see wolves lay slumped over pushed off to the side, huge furry body’s roll and fight through the halls as I cling to Loral in fear.
She raises her hands as a bright sparkling light comes from them, the fighting stops as the wolves hit the ground, our fighters shift on the floor to make the pain stop. The rogues continue to squirm and shriek as our men now walk through the crowd killing everyone who doesn’t belong in our pack taking a few down to the dungeons to hold captive.
When all of the commotion had stoped Loral drops her hands, I desperately start looking around for Amelia.
“Is everyone ok?” Loral yells as we all walk around assessing the situation.
“Where’s Clover and Amelia?” I ask while Loral starts looking around, closing her eyes before they snap open and she takes off and I follow close behind.
Outside we see the girls collapsed on the ground, running over, we help them back inside to find out what happened.
“After you left the rogues showed up again, they tried to take Clover and Amelia with them which is when you came upstairs.” Collin says looking over to Loral.
“Ok well I brought our elders and we’re ready to cloak the pack.” She says as Collin nods.
We all go back to the spell room while Collin calls the surrounding packs, we start setting up for the ritual, Loral says it will take a while to make sure they cloak the land properly. Loral lays a map out on the alter she surrounds it with candles and circles the pack lands Collin has given her, lighting the candles she links hands with the other woman she brought with her, the elders of the elements.
They all close their eyes focusing deeply as Collin and I stand back watching them attentively, the flames rise as a bright glittery light shoots in to the sky covering the pack lands in a beautiful sparkling glow. They remain like this for what seems like forever before the light fades and they all drop their heads.
“It’s done.” Loral says softly as I let out a deep breath I didn’t notice I was holding.
“Your land is hidden now, just like Clove County. The rogues won’t be able to find you so this will give us time to figure out what they want.” She says looking over to us.
“Thank you Loral, for everything. You’ve saved my home and my pack a few times now and I could never repay what you’ve done for us.” Collin states giving her a big hug.
Loral returns with the elders letting us deal with the after math, we’re protected now so we will have time to deal with the damage and re build. Hopefully I’m able to get to know my sister a little better now that everything has a chance to calm down. Collin and I head to bed, tomorrows a new day and the destruction will still be here when we wake up.
