Chapter 30.
Chapter 30.
Estella’s POV.
“Ok do you have a spell room or apothecary we can use?” Loral asks as I look at her in confusion and Collin places his hand behind his head.
“A what?” I ask making her snicker in response.
“Ok do you have a cellar or basement we can turn in to one?” She asks looking to Collin as he nods turning to walk out of the room and we all follow.
We go down a small hall off the kitchen that I’ve never seen before, the hall leads to stone stairs that spiral down in to a dark stone room. Collin lights a torch lighting up a small space as he begins walking around to light the others, Loral runs back up stairs and we all begin looking around the dark abandoned room.
“We used to store food and wine down here when my father was alive, I stopped using it because we had enough room in the castle.” Collin says pulling dusty branches and dead wood out of a small fire place when Loral comes running back down.
“We’re ready to start.” She walks over to a small wall with nothing on it as I watch her with confusion, she places both hands on the wall mumbling something with her eyes closed and I struggle to hear her. A small glimmering light begins to travel up the stone in a perfect line as it curves just above Loral trailing back down, hitting the floor parallel to where it started and my mouth drops.
A door just big enough for us to fit through appears on the wall in front of us as she looks back to us smiling.
“Are you ready?” She asks and I nod curiously excited to see what’s behind it. She knocks on the door loudly as it opens towards us and she steps through, we all follow close behind walking in to a sparkling tube. Walking through the other side I look around noticing we’re in the palace.
“This door will stay in your spell room, you need to keep your spell room locked at all times when you aren’t using it.” She states as I nod excitedly.
“How did you do that?” I say following her through the palace as she speed walks down the halls.
“Maybe one day I’ll teach you, for now we have stuff to do.” She says when we see 2 gnomes cleaning the sun room.
“Hey, I need you to collect herbs and tinctures for a new apothecary.” She says sweetly as both of them nod quickly taking off to find her supply’s. We walk in to a big glass room filled with jars of herbs, hanging plants, and a huge bronze pot. She runs around grabbing a bunch of other things before taking us in to the greenhouse.
I start going through all her seeds grabbing a few from each kind labeling them in to little baggy’s as the girls help her take plant clippings and flower strains. Once we are done we meet back at the door with the 2 gnomes.
“You guys will be staying with Estella and Amelia from now on.” She tells them as they look between each other and nod. We make sure we collected everything we need and all pile through the door back to the castle.
Collin has a few maids in our new spell room cleaning up all the dust and broken shelves, we place everything down in a safe spot before heading upstairs. We all sit down to eat as we catch Loral up on what we found out while we were trapped in the rogue village, she’s heard of werefae but hasn’t known anyone who has birthed one successfully she didn’t want to say anything that would scare us when we first met at her palace.
We are now noticing that we might be the only ones that can. Fairies have their own magic and wolves are a form of magic so normally the pair couldn’t produce children, they would either be born werewolf’s of fairies. Loral is thinking because our dad was a pixie who was able to absorb magic to use it that we will be the ones to produce the new species Amelia heard the rouges talk about.
We finish talking and eating before excusing ourselves to get ready for bed, Collin and I decide to watch a movie before going to sleep, letting it softly play in the back ground as his warm hard body presses in to mine relaxing every part of me.
The next morning I get up early going to the kitchen to eat quick before getting started on the spell room. I walk down the long stair way as it’s now lit up with small fairy lights along the ceiling, opening the door it no longer smells like a mildewed wet stone room but now it smells like fresh wood and cleaning products.
I find Loral already setting up jars of herbs along the walls, I grab a few joining her.
“Oh good morning dear, how do you feel?” She asks as I smile softly in return.
“I’m good, what are we doing today?” I set another jar up while she passes them along to me.
“I have to meet with a see’er this afternoon at the Palace, hopefully she can give us some information on the rogues, until then you and Clover will practice some light magic with Amelia while I setup your greenhouse and spell room.” She finishes as the last jar goes up.
I continue helping her re-arrange and organize until the girls come running down the stairs. Steele will be out training with the warriors most of the day so we won’t see her till dinner, Loral creates another door on the outer wall leading in to Steele’s garden, the greenhouse is being set up just outside the garden so we can grow all year long. One will be set up on each side of the door as well, Loral has come in and renovated the whole space to supply our fairy needs.
Clover, Amelia and I all sit down in the long grass, we lay back letting the wind blow over us. Clover makes a small pile of sticks in front of us, she places her hand over top of her pile slowly moving it around in circles.
“Feel your hands heat up, picture your magic pouring out your finger tips, picture the flames wrapping around the sticks.” She says as we sit watching her, a small fire starts at the base of the sticks growing bigger.
I place my hands above my pile copying what Clover was doing as I close my eyes an picture the sparks flowing out of my finger tips, I smell smoke and open my eyes to see a small flame flickering in front of me. I move my hand still above it focusing on it spreading an getting bigger as it does and Clover laughs.
“Look at you go, Amelia do you want to try?” She asks looking over to her.
Amelia stops to think for a few minutes before she pulls her hand above the little pile of sticks, nothing happens and she drops her hands.
“I can’t do it.” She says looking to the ground as I feel her shame wash off her while Clover speaks.
“Amelia it’s ok, just try again and focus. Feel your magic flow through you.” She nods at Amelia taking her hands in hers, Clover pushes her magic through her showing Amelia as her eyes go wide to the feeling.
She try’s again taking a deep breath, this time small flickers come from her hands as she try’s to force the magic out with no use, this time getting frustrated and giving up.
“I told you I can’t do it!” She yells back turning to sulk like a child as Clover turns to comfort her.
“It’s ok, it takes time to control your magic, you guys didn’t have your powers the same time as normal fairies so it will be harder learning as adults.” She tells her trying to calm her down.
“Ok lets stop here.” I stand up stretching before I continue. “Loral wants me to go to the Palace with her to meet the see’er, until I get back can you guys go through the spell room and just make a list of everything we still need, including live plants.” I ask as she nods, taking Amelia’s hand she walks back in to the castle.
Since arriving Amelia seems to trust Clover more then anyone else, they connect on a different level. I just met my sister and she barely even notices me, all I want is to build a bond with her. I walk back as I feel my heart break at my thoughts, she’s had such a hard life and all I want is to fix that for her.
