Chapter 18.
Chapter 18.
Estella’s POV.
I wake up and Collin’s already gone, I groan getting up to get dressed still feeling like crap. Steele and I are working in the court yard today, she wants to plant flowers in the garden and said it will be good for me to see some sun. I pull on a pair of fitted yoga pants and a tank top with my black flats, quickly braiding my hair back.
I stop in the kitchen to grab some pancakes with peanut butter, it seems to be one of the only things I can eat lately. I focus on chewing and swallowing as I choke it down struggling to keep it down, it takes me close to a half hour to eat before I finally feel kind of satisfied.
I meet Steele in the garden and she’s already hard at work planting flowers.
“Oh hey!” She says. “How are you feeling?” She asks packing dirt around each flower as I walk up. I grab a potting shovel and help her dig little holes to put her little seedlings in.
“Alright, I’ve still been feeling nauseous and kind of woozy, almost dizzy I guess.” I answer in a low tone, even my voice sounds sad.
“Hmm.” She says. “Maybe you should see the pack doctor soon if it doesn’t stop, how long has it been? A week?” She says trying to think back.
“2 weeks.” I correct her. I keep digging the little holes as she follows behind me dropping the seedlings in covering them back up with dirt. I watch the little seeds falling in to the dirt and it seems almost memorizing.
Once we are finished with the little flower garden Steele said she wants to start a fresh herb garden for the chefs to use. We walk up to a big wooden box filled with soil.
“Enzo built this last night with a few of his friends.” Steele says gliding her hand across the fresh dirt happily, I love seeing her like this shes so sweet when she’s not working and in fight mode.
“How did you find Enzo?” I ask as her eyes light up.
“Well when I was 16 my wolf came in and when she did I also was able to find my mate, Enzo was a part of the pack. He was the last betas son and training to take the beta position when Collin stepped in as Alpha. So on my 16th birthday he was already 18 and had his wolf for 3 years, being stronger he got to meet his wolf earlier.” She says calmly.
“When I got to school I could smell this amazing scent of wet ferns and fresh cut maple, I was memorized by it, my wolf making my whole body lift up looking for the source of the smell. That’s when I walked down math hall to find Enzo standing with his friends his head snapped around to look at me, our eyes locked and we were wrapped up in to an amazing euphoric state. Our lips locked and it felt like electricity through my body as my wolf howled in my mind with happiness.” She states staring off with stars in her eyes. I sit and think for a moment.
“I’m 20, and I was scared when I seen Collin I felt calm after getting to the pack house but I was scared at first. I felt the connection grow with each day but it was progressive.” I state. “Is something wrong with me?” I ask
“It could be because you’re a fairy maybe mates work differently with the fae, the mate bond has grown as you became more comfortable and after you were marked.” She says shrugging her shoulders.
“Which honestly I’m shocked he didn’t mark you the night he brought you here. Alpha’s are dominant and the mate bond drives you to claim your mate, not a lot of wolves can fight that feeling I’m surprised he was able to control himself for as long as he did.” She says and I just stare at her in awe. “Enzo marked me the same night as my birthday.” She says happily with a giggle as I awkwardly chuckle.
“I didn’t realize it was so powerful.” I whisper almost to myself.
“The mate bond is the strongest magic there is.” She smiles brightly.
“It’s the most complete love you can find.” I smile back at her as we begin planting her big pile of potted herbs.
Inside the large box we plant parsley, basil, oregano, dill and rosemary. On either side of the large box is two huge pots, one we put mint in and the other lavender. By the time we are done it is getting late, we both head inside to get dinner when we find Collin at the table eating a big plate of pasta chicken and broccoli. Steele and I both grab some food and sit down with him.
“What did you find out about the rogues?” I ask as he stops eating looking up to me and I see the gold glimmer through his eyes again, misfit gently twirls her body around my feet tickling as she goes startling me, I thought I left her in the bedroom.
“Well.” He starts.
“There’s a wolf who goes by Rick. He is apparently the one running the pack of rogues, he has been recruiting lost wolves and rogues for years training them. we’re unsure of what his plans are but we at least have some information now, the other Alpha’s and I have been talking and any rogues caught on pack lands will be captured and questioned until we figure out exactly what this guy wants and why he’s creating a army of rogues.” He states looking down at his food playing with his fork.
“Ok and what about the wolves going missing?” Steele chimes in.
“We think he is taking them, we don’t know what he’s doing with them or how he’s turning them to his side but it’s the only thing that makes sense if he’s trying to make an army, the one we caught said Rick has been preparing for something.” He says as the room gets tense. We finish our meal in silence before Steele stands excusing herself.
“Good night Alpha, Luna.” She says nodding her head.
“Good night Steele.” I say as she turns leaving the room. I push my plate aside and set my head down on the table with my arms underneath. Collin begins rubbing my back as I start to feel nauseous again.
“How have you felt today?” He asks sweetly.
“Alright.” I respond. “I’ve been really tired and the nausea won’t go away.” I say quietly as he continues rubbing small circles on my back. My body relaxes as I feel myself slip in to a comfortable soft slumber.
Feeling his hands spin around on my back calming my mind and body, a few minutes later I feel Collins arms around me carrying me up to bed. His warm hands wrapped around me making me feel more safe and protected then I ever have before in my life, my perfect mate I’ve fallen for him so quickly in such a short time and it’s the most amazing feeling I could think of.
He places me down laying with me as our souls connect as one, I truly do love him. My mate. Drifting deeper in to sleep I go back in to the dark world of glimmery lights, I follow them again like usual but this time we end up closer just outside the palace. I watch it closely as I try to figure out why I keep being brought here almost like I’m drawn to it, the glimmers seem to push me trying to get me to go closer when my heart begins to race and everything goes black once again. I try and force through the dark to find them again but they are gone and I’m alone.
