Chapter 8.
Chapter 8.
Estella’s POV.
Everything’s dark as I hear my beast talking to someone and my mind spins.
"She will be fine, she needs lots of fluids and rest." The new voice says to Collin.
"Ok, thank you doctor." I hear him respond softly, a hospital that’s where I am.
I struggle to open my eyes and soon give up, realizing I’m still to weak.
Through the darkness of my consciousness I can feel the warmth I felt before I passed out. I try to follow it, searching for this amazing feeling drawing me in. As I continue to follow the warmth I begin to see trees breaking through, I also notice I can smell an overwhelming floral scent. More of my sight begins to come too as the trees become clearer and sounds become more vivid, the birds chirping and singing all around me while I smell the fresh pine trees and rain. everything seems so peaceful and calm, I lay in the grass that has now formed around me and breath deeply. After a few breaths I begin to feel the warmth take over my body again almost like it’s healing itself, I continue to relish in the bright light covering me head to toe inviting it in to my soul.
I wake up to Collin holding my hand as the sun comes pouring through the window, I blink and begin to stretch as he sits up beside me.
"Oh my sweet mate, you’re awake." He says softly kissing my hand.
"What happened?" I ask rubbing my eyes while everything starts to come too.
"The doctor said you over exhausted your body with the amount of magic you used." He responds calmly a my heart drops.
"Magic?" I ask. "I don’t have magic?" I state with confusion.
"Steele said she seen you sit down and a light burst came from you when the rogues attacked." He answers and I sit back to think about what just happened.
"Estella how much do you know about your family history?" He asks me and I shrug.
"I’m not sure I was raised by the orphanage and never knew who my parents were, I left the orphanage at 15 and have been alone since. I don’t think the village had much info on me either." I say while my mind begins to wonder to past conversations with the Mayor about where I came from, he nods looking lost in thought before speaking.
"I think we should look further in to your history and see why you used that amount of magic." He says softly as I nod agreeing with him.
I look over to him quickly remembering our adventure this morning that led up to the attack.
"What happened in the forest!" I ask quickly waiting for his answer.
"Well." He starts. " I could feel something unfamiliar while we were laying by the pond which is when I woke you up to get you back to the castle, it’s a good thing I did because a group of rogues were just a few minutes behind us.” He starts as I nod listening closely.
“The south boarder of the pack lands had been breeched and we lost a few wolves in the fight, by the time I had gotten to the south boarder a beam of light came down over the territory line, which I’m now thinking must have come from you. A few minutes after the light came down the rogues started squealing and howling in pain while running off the pack lands." He says trailing off while thinking to himself.
"I think I’m going to talk to the chambers I’ll be back in a minute, you rest and I’ll send Steele in." He says leaning down to kiss my forehead before walking out.
I hear the door close as I look up to the ceiling and take a deep breath seconds later Steele comes busting in.
"Hey! how are you feeling Luna?" She says in a bright cheery voice.
"Tired, but I’m alright." I say with a small smile as she comes to sit on my bed.
"What was that?" She asks leaning in to whisper while here eyes go wide in excitement.
"I’m honestly not sure." I respond looking down feeling kind of embarrassed.
"It’s never happened to me before." I answer and my confusion rises, I’ve never used magic before so how did I do it now?
"I’ve only ever met a few different magical creatures before, but I’ve never seen something like that it was amazing." She says smiling at me as her eyes glimmer with curiosity.
"What other creatures are there that you know of?" I ask her our village never really taught us of the other species. We were always just told that they were beasts.
"Well I’ve heard of nymphs but never seen one, vampires, witches, fairies, sirens, mermaids, theres lots of other creature’s that exist." She tells me as we both sit for a minute thinking.
"How do we find out where my magic comes from?" I ask her as her face lights up.
"Well we can look at your family tree and back track your ancestral history." She says tapping her chin as she thinks.
"What’s your parents last names?" She asks softly.
"Moone." I respond as we lay in bed together talking about the other magical creatures that exist in our world, wondering where my magic could come from when Collin comes back in my room with a doctor in tow.
Steele gets up while squeezing my hand and giving me a huge smile.
"We are discharging you tonight to go home on bedrest." The doctor says. "You will need to take it easy over the next few days, I’m thinking because you haven’t used your magic before you’re not very strong with controlling your powers." She states as I nod and Collin comes over to sit on my bed while the doctor leaves the room.
"I spoke with the chambers." He says.
"We are pulling your family tree and your history to try and figure out where your magic lays." He says quietly as I nod.
"Ok" I finally say releasing a sigh I’ve been holding back.
The doctor comes back with a stack of papers for Collin to sign and while he’s finishing those up I get dressed and pull my messy hair up in to a bun. God I feel gross how long was I out for? Collin walks me upstairs to our room when I realize the medical centre is in the basement of the castle.
We get in to our room and Collin starts the shower helping me in as I begin to lather my body up.
"My beautiful mate." He says looking at me with stars in his eyes.
"How long was I out for?" I ask calmly waiting for his answer.
"About 3 days." He answers as he begins kissing up my back and shoulders making little moans escape my mouth.
3 days! I was asleep 3 whole days, I think to myself mind blown at the fact I have no memory of those days at all, Collin said I was coming in and out after the first day but I wouldn’t stay awake.
"When will we look in to my family?" I ask excitedly, I’ve never really known much about my back ground so I’m really curious to see what we find.
"We will do it in the morning, I want you to rest today we will spend the day in bed together." He says with a big smile.
"Oh I forgot to tell you we are doing your Luna ceremony on the next full moon." He says as I stop washing my body and just stare blankly at him, my breath feeling like it has escaped me.
"A Luna ceremony is where you will meet the pack and we celebrate our pack becoming whole with the joining of you. it’s tradition to do it on the full moon." He says gently a my heart stops.
I look at him contemplating everything that was just thrown in my brain and it feels like a pile of mush.
"Ok." I say quietly. "Can we talk more about it later?" I ask wanting to just move on.
"Yes, Steele will take you shopping before the party to pick a dress." He says as I rinse my hair out losing myself in thought.
We both step out of the shower and begin drying off, I throw on a black silk cami short set and climb in to bed. I was so tired I fell asleep before Collin even made it out of the bathroom. I feel him crawl in next to me without hearing what he said about my family history as my brain wonders through the darkness.
