21-Stalker
**Saviera's POV**
I'm wrapping up my essay for Art History and all of a sudden Zuri starts freaking out.
"Oh my God! Sav look at this!" She gives me her phone and I read the message. My heart sank to my stomach and I want to panic, but I keep my cool so that Zuri doesn't get more scared.
"It's gonna be okay. It's probably a weirdo pranking a random number. I'll call my dad and the police to make a report though just in case. From now on, I'll be taking you to and from work and start carrying my gun again. We need to get you into the range and get you permitted to open carry. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." I grab my phone to call my dad and I see that I got a message as well- **Daveed won't keep you safe**
I ignore it and and ring my dad until he answers.
"Hey sweetheart. You need something?" He answers.
"Dad, I need you to come to our apartment. Bring your Glock 23. Someone is stalking Zuri and me and we both just got disturbing messages from an unknown number."
"I'm on my way. Stay inside, Saviera, and make sure every entrance is locked." The line went dead and I dialed the police.
"9-1-1 what's your emergency?"
"Hi, I need an officer to come to my apartment. My girlfriend and I just received threatening text messages from an unknown number. They said they're watching us."
"Are you sure it isn't a prank from a friend? And has anything else been sent to you?" The dispatcher asked.
"Our friend's wouldn't do something like this. We haven't received anything else yet." I responded. There's no way any of our friends know about Daveed.
We hear a loud knock on our door and Zuri jumps. My dad couldn't have made it here that quickly because my parents live about 20 minutes away.
"Someone's at my door. I'm going to look through the peep hole to see who it is." I tell the dispatcher.
I get up and tell Zuri to stay where she is. I go to the closet, grab my Glock 42, make sure it's loaded and hand it to Zuri. "Keep your finger off of the trigger unless you're ready to shoot." I go back into my closet, put on my holster and grab my Glock 23 that I got when my dad bought his. I made sure it was loaded and put the phone on speaker so I could sit it down on the table by our door.
Another knock beats on the door as I go towards it. When I look through the peep hole, I see Daveed. "It's just Daveed." I tell Zuri.
I open the door and he rushes inside. "Are you two okay?" He asked.
"We're okay. Did you get a message?" I asked and he nodded.
He showed me the message and I read it out loud for the dispatcher to hear-
**I'm after Saviera and Zuri. You can't keep them safe.**
"Shit. I have the police on the phone. My dad's on his way too." I said. I put my gun inside the holster and walk Daveed to the bedroom. "Stay here with her please. Do you need a gun?" I ask.
Daveed looks at me like I'm a mad woman for a second and says, "No, I brought my own." He lifted his shirt and flashed his Smith & Wesson m&p sitting in a very nice holster.
"Ooohh that's a beauty. You're going to the range with us." I said. Another knock sounds on the door. I pull out my gun and start walking to the door. Daveed gets up and says "No, let me answer it."
"You shouldn't because if it's my dad he will shoot you and ask questions later."
"Fair enough. I'm right behind you though." He responded.
I get to the door and see that it's my dad, so I opened it.
"Where's Zuri? Are you both okay? Who the hell is this?" My dad asks with a look that's ready to kill, and will.
"I'm in here, dad!" Zuri calls from the room.
"Everyone is okay. Dad, this is Daveed. Daveed, this is my dad, James." Daveed goes to shake my dad's hand.
"It's nice to meet you, sir." My dad takes his hand and firmly shakes it.
"Likewise. Thank you for being here for my girls." My dad said.
"I got a message too. I raced over here as soon as I read it." Daveed showed my dad. The dispatcher said there's an officer on his way to make a report and get an investigation started so I thanked her and hung up.
"Do you open carry?" My dad asked Daveed.
"Yes, I always do." He answered.
"Good. Saviera, I know you stopped carrying, but you need to start again. Everywhere you go. When you're at school, take your pepper spray and the flashlight taser that I got you. I also think you need to stop working at the bar. It's not safe right now and you don't need to work there anyway. I need the three of you to stick together as much as possible. Daveed, could you temporarily stay here with them at night until this get's figured out?"
"Of course. I won't let anyone harm them." Daveed said.
The officer shows up. I explain the whole situation and show him the messages.
I'll call my boss tomorrow to explain the situation and take some time off. I'm going to kill whoever this person is. I literally can't think of anyone who would want to harm us. I wonder how long we've been watched and how much they know about our arrangement. I don't know how much they have seen or if it's someone that hates me. Maybe it's someone who hates Daveed. There's no way Zuri made any enemies. She's the most genuine and loving person in the world.
My phone buzzes in my hand and I get a picture message from the unknown number.
I open it and see Zuri sitting on our bed and me talking to Daveed standing beside it. There must be a small gap in our blinds.
"Whoever it is, they really are watching." I showed everyone the image. The officer rushes outside and calls for another officer to help sweep the area. His partner must be in the vehicle.
Daveed and I go back to my room to sit with Zuri and my dad stays in the living room. That picture was taken before my dad and the cops even got here, so he could be far away by now.
"Have either of you spoken to anyone about our arrangement?" I ask.
"No. I wouldn't risk my job." Daveed answered. "Do you think it's Damien?"
Shit. What if it is? He left class super angry at me and Daveed. Maybe he found out somehow. He said he has connections at Lust and could have watched the cameras or something. This is all my fault.
"Who's Damien?" Zuri asked.
"This jerk who called me a bitch this morning because I wasn't interested him. He left class before it even started because Daveed confronted him, but this is all my fault. I might have said too much." I explain to Zuri exactly what was said. She pulled me in for a hug and told me it might not even be him.
"Guys, I won't lie. I told Hannah a little bit too. I didn't tell her any names or that it was even your teacher. Maybe someone over heard my conversation or something." Zuri said. I hugged her back.
"At the end of the day, none of us can be blamed for this. This is no one's fault except for whoever is doing this to us and we will figure out who it is." Daveed said.
