Ginger Fox Part 5
“You’re going to have to step up your game to catch this bunny, big dog!” I smack my butt and can bet that his jaw clenched just from the puffed-up chest he took while breathing.
The lights go out suddenly, coming back on within seconds. I look back, but he’s already disappeared.
“Damn it!”
I turn around, racing back to the stairs and swearing to myself that I won’t stop for anything until I pass through that red door. My smile widens with pure excitement when I finally spot it at the end of the dark corridor on the third floor.
“Just get there, Ginger,” I scold myself, forbidding myself from looking at any open doors. Even if there’s a ghostly Freddie Mercury concert, I won’t look.
I have faith I’ll make it. I can almost feel the texture of the doorknob in my hands until a quiet squeal, followed by a moan and a giggle, makes me stop. I look back, seeing the empty corridor. I resume walking, hugging my body, focusing on the door. A loud bang of a door being slammed makes me jump, and I search for the source of those damn sounds. My steps slow, and the moan followed by a squeal returns, with another giggle, almost giving me a heart attack with curiosity. I walk closer to the walls as if I could hear inside the rooms. The sound of the door banging loudly comes again, and I turn, stopping in the corridor, looking that way. My eyes narrow, as if expecting him to appear at the end of the corridor any moment. I sigh, shaking my head and continuing to walk. My fingers tremble with excitement and joy as I turn the doorknob, opening the door. The victorious smile fades from my face, turning to shock when I see him standing inside, waiting for me with the black mask covering his face. He looks like a statue at the entrance.
“Oh, shit!” I pull the door shut in his face. “No way, Roy!” I shout, running away. If he doesn’t catch me before I get inside, it means I’m still in the game.
I run, laughing mischievously, determined to give him a hard time catching me. The third door opens, and a man with a tiger mask steps out. I keep running, preparing to dodge the door, but I’m already lifted before I even pass it, thrown over a firm shoulder. The smell, the damn smell, overwhelms me.
“I’ve got you, provocative bunny!” His deep voice comes out firm from his throat, giving a resounding smack to my butt.
“Jonathan, you jerk!” I punch his back angrily. “You tricked me, swapped the damn masks!”
His chest shakes with a booming laugh as he removes the mask and hands it to the guy outside the open red door. I want to scream, thrash around as he closes the door with his foot, locking us in.
“So provocative, my sweet bunny.” The shiver runs down my spine as his large hands caress my butt, stopping on the pompom. “I promise I’ll have as much fun as you, teasing me with that little tail.”
Roy sets me down on the floor, his blue eyes locked on me. My heart races, beating wildly with desperation. I take a step back, looking around the room. The light shines only in the center, where there’s a wooden table bolted to the floor. Tall iron bars behind it form a curved protective railing. I look back at the incredibly sexy man in the suit, who’s eyeing the pompom on my butt. I reach back there for protection, facing Jonathan.
“Just so you know, this wasn’t my idea.” Jonathan walks provocatively, making my legs weaken when he stops, just an inch away, with the most devilish and lustful smile.
“It’s the law of the jungle, Gim.” His hand stretches to the wall, pulling out a leather whip and holding it between his fingers. “Every predator eats the prey it hunts, and rest assured, I’m going to enjoy every inch of this provocative bunny.”
His face turns to the side, and I follow his gaze, feeling my blood run cold at the sight of the wall with various erotic toys.
“Oh, shit!”

"Leaving already?" Czar's voice emerges from the shadows, a puff of smoke escaping from his cigarette. He walks over as I approach my car. "I didn’t see you breaking any hearts today."
"You know how it is; I like to mix things up. The dishes served today don’t fill me up like they used to." I press the car alarm, opening the vehicle door, and hold it open while looking at the starry sky. "Don’t you feel that way, Czar? Sometimes wishing for something more?"
"That’s not for me, Baby, and it’s not for you either." The big man leans against the car, smoking his cigarette and shrugging. "We’re too messed up to want something real."
Yeah, we are, but I’m still too tired, too saturated. What once filled my eyes and burned my body now seems so vague.
"You should find a partner, Gregovivk. Maybe that way, you’ll stop being a fucked-up mess, and at least one of us will have something more."
"Stop cursing me, Baby!" I’m forced to laugh at him, who looks even grumpier than usual.
"The big polar bear is afraid of getting involved with someone..." Czar raises his middle finger at me, getting grouchy.
"Go fuck yourself or suck my dick, but don’t soften me up, Baby!" He grabs his sack, stepping away from the car.
"Or you could suck mine?" I get into the car, laughing at how he always gets so pissed when I bring up a partner.
God help the poor soul who tries that; Czar can be a controlling bastard when he wants to! I take off my mask and toss it onto the passenger seat. The tires kick up dust as I leave him behind. Shifting gears, I accelerate, feeling the cool breeze on my skin. I cross the dirt road leading from the inn and, once on the coastal asphalt, the gauges on the dashboard shoot up as I press the accelerator. I no longer see things the way I used to or feel the same excitement from the beginning. I've been wandering alone on this road of my life for too long. I judged Roy for trying to relive the past just to feel some real emotion in his life, but what about me? What am I doing with mine? I've been to so many places and slept with as many bodies as I desired, but none of them have truly seen me. These thoughts have been creeping in lately, making me long to leave with Jon. I could be a good mother, I could care for my child without looking back. I stop at the gas station to fill up my car, and when I get to the counter, I grab a beer for myself. Instead of heading back to the car, I find myself crossing the empty street in the dark of night, walking to the boardwalk on the beach. I take off my sandals, holding them by the straps. The boats anchored near the pier gently sway with the calm waves of the ocean tonight. I sigh, looking at the stars, and let my feet touch the sand, moving away from the sidewalk until I feel the foam of the waves wetting my feet. I close my eyes, allowing myself to enjoy the sea breeze in this peaceful silence, just me and my weary soul.
"Deep thoughts, Miss Roy?" My peaceful silence is shattered by a rough voice, one I would recognize even in the gates of hell.
"Seriously? Are you fucking with me?" I grip the beer bottle tightly, as if it could be this intruding man's neck. I shake my head, refusing to open my eyes, as if he could disappear back into the hole he came from and leave me alone. "Aren’t you tired of following me? Don’t you have anything better to do with your life?" I raise my drink, taking a swig to soothe the anger I feel every time he approaches. "I don’t know, maybe fuck Lorane’s sister’s cow?"
I open my eyes, turning to face him, and am struck by the sight of the taciturn man staring at me. But it's not the sight of his muscular arms covered in tattoos that makes me uncomfortable; it's seeing his bare chest, showing that he’s just come out of the water.
