“I saw Alexa. I guess she eavesdropped on our conversation. Your career is in big trouble now!” Huyi walked left to right worrying about her own safety too.
If Yunxi was to go down then she would not be spared either besides she was the one who drugged Alexa before the pool accident.

“That pest! She wants by all means to pull me down!” She itches her face and balls her fist.
The more she saw her progress on the news and in magazines the more she grew hatred.
In her entire life, she was very unlucky not until now, she has a good job and good fans. She had to do something about that pest before she went back to her miserable life.

“What should we do? She might expose it and you might be in the headlines tomorrow. ”

“Don't worry about me. I have my ways of dealing with her ” She wore her mink coat to hide the bump and left through the exit.

In Ray's house.

Jocelyn parked the car alongside the other cars he had. She opened the door and walked Miss Parker into the house.

“I had a nice time with you, Miss Parker, hope to have such quality time again ”
Jocelyn gave her best smile and left the house. Alexa pushed the door open and to her surprise, Ray was waiting for her.

“Hope you are not gonna ditch me for work!” Alexa angrily brushed past him, changed her slippers and went to the bedroom.

“Hey, why are you so hard to please? ” He took a look at the file she gave him.
Damn it, did she really love to model with her baby in her stomach?

“Don't give me that look, tell me, what if something goes wrong with the baby during one of the photoshoots? ”

“The baby? That's what you only care about! Haven't I sacrificed enough for it! I don't eat my favorite food, cut off from sweet and sugary things and now I only eat veggies like a goat!”
Alexa retorted back and folded her arms. He dared to stop her from her dream. It had been a month since she tried her best to follow his instructions but it got too hard and tough at his demanding requests.

“You!” He breathed out. This woman was a psycho who cared nothing about messing around with dresses and showing off her body. “You know what will happen ”
His words were sharp and plain. She didn't need a translator to understand him.

“And I know! Besides this is a contract marriage, I signed the contract and I too should have some liberty to move around! I am not your prisoner!”
She barked back.

“You've grown some courage, haven't you?” He stood up angrily. His face and the aura that radiated from it did not give a friendly vibe.
She shrieked silently and moved back. Alexa fully knew the consequences of getting him angry and yet wanted to take the risks.
Before Alexa could reply, Miss Naomi came to her rescue.

“She is right to some extent, she does need some freedom ” Miss Naomi came in with a trolley filled with salads and little meat. “Look Boss, if you keep her hear without following her dreams then she might as well go into depression, and that is not good for the baby health ”

“So what are you saying? I let her go and endanger his life?” Ray shot a glare at her. She did make sense but he cared more about her safety and not the baby.
His mother had been quiet for too long and he feared what might happen with her around.

“Exactly not what I am saying, you can double the guards around her and still let her live her life. It would be suspicious if she stays home. ”
Another point for Miss Naomi, Alexa smiled and pulled Ray's sleeves. One thing she learnt in her boring lockdown was none other than learning the puppy dog eyes.

“I promise, I won't take up any dangerous jobs okay?” She pleaded more and dragged his sleeves.

“Fine but I will have your men replaced by mine ” He could not let an unknown company bodyguard protect his wife. He needed real trained military men for the worst to come.

“Thanks hubby!” She blushed.

Meanwhile,

Sounds of angry heels clicked against the glass hotel floor. Valerie was just back from a business meeting when she got a shock. Her best friend was going to be a mother and did not even know.

“ Valerie, your dad would like it if you could go to the resort and spend a night with him. ” Her personal maid said as she picked up sneakers from the shelf.

“Tell him maybe another night, I need to talk to my best Friend.” Valerie waved her hands and dismissed the lady. She quickly reached for her phone and dialed her number.

“ Lexa......I need......your help ” She stuttered and sniffed in her snorts.

“What's wrong? Where are you? I am coming now!” Alexa's mother sense flew in as she grabbed her car keys and left the house. She drove at high speed until she got to the restaurant's address.
She did not want to take any risk with Valerie. Valerie was like a sister and a friend she never had and she wanted their friendship to last forever.
She threw her keys to one of the drivers and ran upstairs. She panted heavily and calmed her throbbing hearts.

“ Alexa!” Valerie's eyes turned red from all the fake crying she practiced before Alexa got there.

“How did this to my poor baby?” She accessed Valerie's face and planted a kiss on her forehead. Valerie smirked, she finally had her right where she wanted her.

“One of my friends. They hid a huge secret after we promised never to keep secrets from each other. I feel like crying!” She sobbed more on Alexa's sleeves making her eyes blink.
She felt guilt from Alexa and grinned more. She could not believe her best friend would lie to her, ooh well people change.

“ Valerie, I have something I have been hiding from you......” She took a deep breath and breathed out. Her palms become sweaty and nervous. She did not know how to break the ice and tell her friend that she was a month and 2 weeks pregnant.
