“Are you sure about that? But I am not too sure about that, brother Ray. Felix is not around and there is no bodyguard, what I'd something goes wrong?” She aired her thoughts. It was dangerous at this time for children like them to go out.
She was frightened at the sight of time being kidnapped or missing. If they went missing, she would never see her brother, her mom, her dad or even brother Ray.

“See, I will drop a voice recorder right here and I will take the other one with me. When anything happens, we can communicate with the maids, trust me would you?”

“I presume that works fine too. Well, since you are the birthday boy and it is your wish to watch that movie, I have no say, let your wish be granted .” She wiggled her magic wand over Ray's head and clapped her wings.
She was dressed in a yellow dress with fairy wings and a magic wand. Her hair tied in a ponytail and strands of hair on her face.

“Thank you my fairy ” He bowed and dragged her outside to one of their parent's cars. “Trust me, I got a certified 1 driver's license ”

“Uhmmm” She calmed herself and strapped her seatbelt. “Be steady okay?”

“Sure. Hold on tight ” Ray happily started the car. At his early age he was permitted by law to have his driver's license but that doesn't mean he knew how to drive well.
He slowly reversed out of the compound and drove to the cinema.
An hour later.
“That movie was good! Do you not think so? Superman was super cool just now.” He wiggled her as Audrey yawned.
They spent an hour in the theater all alone watching the amazing Superman journey and sleep was killing her.

“Now that you have seen the movie, can we go home? I am feeling really tired .” Audrey yawned, stretched and dusted her gown from the cinema popcorn.

“Sure......” He dragged her to the car once more and pulled the car door. “One second, please.”
He put his hands into his pocket and searched for the key but could not find the key.

“Gege, do not tell me you lost the key in the cinema while watching the movie? The door has been closed and we are stuck outside here and the sky looks like it is gonna rain ” Audrey whined and urged him to look for it again. “This is a bad idea! I told you not to go. I don't have these good feelings at all.”

“Must you be so negative? Nothing is gonna happen, I just left the keys in the cinema. We will just go and wait till my mom finds out that I am gone then she will get me .”

“Your mom? Did you not hear what I said? She is out of town She can't probably come and pick us and I can't be under the rain for too long ” Audrey shivered and rubbed her arms together.
Audrey had a birth defect since childhood which made her intolerable to cold weathers.

“Then have my jacket. I caused this mess and I will fix it ” He removed his coat and wrapped it around her shoulders. “Keep yourself warm ”
He took her to the entrance of the theater and made a seat out of paper for them to sit down.

“If I wear your coat, you will catch a cold and I won't be happy. Let us share it ” She moved closer and opened up the coat and covered both of them. “Brother Ray, I have something to tell you.......”
She blushed and held her cheeks from turning red. She planned to tell him how she felt about him on his birthday and did not want to delay her feelings.

“Stop there! ” Gunshots were heard from afar as the noise increased as the man who fired the bullets came close.
It frightened Audrey as she clenched to his arms.

“Brother Ray, what are we going to do? ”

“This way!” He left the jacket, carried her on his back and ran to a safer place.

“You can't hide for too long ” A deeper voice of the man echoed through the quiet night. They ran faster as they heard the shots of guns.

“Audrey, how are you coping? ” He took her down and down her long dress into a shorter one. He touched her neck and found out that she was getting colder by the second.

“I....am....good. Brother Ray, I don't feel too good.”

“Did you bring your medicine? ”

“No I didn't. I thought we would be back before the rain started. Gege, I am really scared. We are alone in the dark and those men seemed to be after us. Call your parent, let them come and pick us up ”
She shivered more.

“That is a good idea ” He brought out his phone and tapped on it. “Damn it! Battery is dead ”

“Here use mine .” She reached out for hers and sighed. “I forgot mine at home.”

“Come out little children. I won't harm you for now. I just want something from you ” The man said as he slowly entered the dark warehouse where they currently entered. “If you don't come out there will be more consequences. ”
He threatened as his fingers danced around the trigger.

“Brother Ray, I am really scared. What if he catches one of us? There is a little opening on the wall and it can only contain one of us, go and save yourself ” Her teeth shuttered as the air she breathed became more icy.

“I can not leave you here. I was the cause of this mess and I will save us. Hang on. ” He removed the blocks from the wall to increase the wall. “Try to keep yourself warm, I would get us out of here ”

“Little kids, you are taking forever to find. Just come out already!” The man's footstep became heavier and it echoed louder. “There is no place for you to hide again ”

“Ouch ” Audrey sneezed out as she held her mouth. The man walked to the sneezing sound and found the children.

“You think you could escape?!” He looked at Ye with a sinister smile on his face and grabbed her arms harshly.

“Audrey?!” He turned back and saw the man had grabbed Ye and was taking her out of the warehouse. He stopped digging and ran to save her.

“Let go of my friend!” Ray broke the brick on the floor and rolled his sleeves.

“How sweet of you, let me guess you are here to be her hero and protect the damsel in trouble? Get out, this is not your cringe kids movie!” He yelled back and pointed the gun at her head.

“Rui, run, save yourself please. ” Audrey coughed out blood as her lungs dried every minute. she shivered more as she begged him.

“I can't leave you here with this scary man. Look here! I am not afraid of you ”

“You must be Emily's son, right? I fucking hate your mother and everything she did to me. You Hudston's are despicable and now I have her son right in my hands, let us see who will have their last laugh first .”

“You know my mother? You are wasting your time, even if I am dead, my mother will not give a damn shit about it. If it is me you want, let go of her and take me! ” Ray surrendered as he moved closer to him.
He had a plan that would save the day or he thought would save the day. Besides, like he said, his mother will not give a damn shit if she were to find out that her son was killed on his birthday. Rather than being sad, it would be her joyful day like she always tells him .

“You do have a bad mouth, don't you?” He reached for his gun to shoot the trigger at Ray when Audrey bit his hands and ran towards Ray.

“Audrey, what are you doing?” Ray yelled as the bullet flew towards him. He closed his eyes and waited for death yet no pain, no blood.
He looked down at the little girl holding his waist and protecting him. His hands were full of blood and not his but Ye's own.

“Audrey? Wake up!” He fell to his knees and shook her up. Her eyes tried to stay awake but the pain was too much for her to handle.

“Brother Ray, happy birthday to you and I like you ” Audrey brought out the cake from her little wings purse and handed it over to him before dying.

“No, don't do this ” He pressed his hands against her chest and pressed with force. He checked her pulse and felt nothing. She was truly dead.
Her yellow fairy gown was already tainted with her blood. She laid dead on the floor.

“See what you have done?! I planned on releasing her but you were too stubborn. What a touching end, anyway, I can't go without my target. ” He pointed the bullet at him to pull the trigger when he felt a huge pain on his head and he fell down.
Rui's left hand bled with the force he threw one of the blocks at the man's forehead. He did not even notice or feel the pain. He immediately squatted and carried Ye on his back running back home.

“Where is that boy?!” Emily panted heavily and walked around. She instructed them to stay indoors and even let Audrey stay with him since he only listened to her and no one else.

“Rui ” She gasped as he ran inside with a girl covered in blood. “Audrey?.....what the fucking hell have you done?”

“Mom, save her please. I will forever be obedient to you ” Ray fell on his knees and begged his mother.

“You are in serious trouble .” She rushed quickly with Audrey to the hospital in her car.

In the hospital.

“How is she, doctor?” Emily and Ray stood up from the seat and hurried to the doctor. He sighed and covered the girl with a white cloth and said.

“I am sorry. she could not make it. She lost too much blood on getting here ” He bowed his head and excused himself from them. Ray held Audrey's fingers.

“You are not dead. You can't be dead. Mom, the doctor is lying right?!” He bursted into tears as he shook his mother. He could not believe that he lost his best friend, his friend on his birthday.
He fell on his back and rocked himself.

“She is dead! Didn't you hear what the doctor said?! I told you not to go out! I warned you. Now, Audrey paid for your stupidity ” Emily wiped little tears that fell on her cheeks. “Since she is dead, tomorrow, you will be joining the military and I don't want to hear a single word from you!”
