“MOM!” She screamed to shut up her mother from sprouting nonsense. “I will just be in my room shouting out my lungs .”
She goes to her room and slams the door.

Forty Minutes Later,

Georgina helped in the setting of the dining room while her father sulked on the sofa.

“Honey, stop being a big baby and come have lunch ” Marylene commanded him and as a loving and doting husband he did not think twice to defile her orders and went straight to have lunch.
He grabbed his chopsticks and took a bite out of the fish sauce. He disliked admitting that the food tasted really fantastic and refused to remove his doubt about him.

“My son in law is a good chief. You have to hold on to him, Georgina, such men are scarce to find .” Marylene winked at her daughter.
Son In law? They were not even married nor engaged, yet she dared to call a random stranger her son in law? What kind of charm did he use to bewitch her mother?

“Mom! We are not even engaged. We hardly know each other. As said before, he is just a colleague at my workplace and nothing more ”
Really nothing more? Her emotions yelled the opposite to her. If so, then why was she avoiding eye contact with Miles?
Georgina wiped her thoughts off and concentrated on the dish. It has been a long time since she could recall having lunch at her hometown.

“You keep saying that, furthermore, I did not see the young man refute any of the charges. Are you sure of what you are saying? ”
That was right! Miles never opened his mouth to rebuke her words and rather chose to remain in silence while she did the countering.
If he really saw her as a colleague, he would have said so but he did not. Was there any attached feelings that he had other than being mere colleagues?
All these new emotions were just strange and creepy to her. She looked at Miles waiting for his response, but he just chuckled and put some sauce into her bowl.

“Have some. You look too skinny .”
He gave himself a little pat. That was the only way he could avoid such a question by bringing up a new topic or simply ignoring it.
Even himself could not tell the feelings he had for her after spending the night with her. He did not know if it was just pure lust for the body or actual love?

“So what project prompted you to come to this rusty town of ours?”
This man impressed him a lot with his cooking skills but a man without a future was deemed useless for his only daughter.
Georgina kicked him on the feet to lie. She did not want him exposing any of the missions to an outsider as it was against the oath they took.
When she went ahead to drag his bags into the house, she found a slip of a mining cave close to the sea port from overseas to the country. She already guessed that was his purpose for his visit and was not shocked.

“I.................. I came for some unfinished business. I deal with most raw materials like gold and silver and planning on sitting an industry somewhere in California but not sure about it ”
He lied and Georgina gave him a thumbs up. In fact, Half was not lying, though he was planning on setting up a business in painting for Georgina behind her back.
After hearing her passion for painting, he was very anxious to see how good she could paint.

“What do you do for a living?”

“Dad!” Georgina cautioned him. What was all this premarital question about a father quizzing his son in law before giving her hand in marriage to him?
Weren't they taking this visit too far?

“Keep shut. Let him talk ”

“I am a doctor. I specialize in orthopedics .”

“So you fix people's broken bones?” He ridiculously laughed out loud.
Miles maintained a calm expression as he finished laughing.

“It is not solely on that. Though it is about the bones but more to it and should not be looked at from another aspect ”

“What do you earn in a month working as a doctor?”

“Approximately, three hundred and fifty thousand yuan in a week and in a month about two million yuan plus bonuses and extra cases ”

“What?!”
Michael exclaimed. That was such a good and wealthy salary for a doctor his age. His appearance did not give the vibe of one that earned such huge money in a week.
Miles's image doubled in his mind. He was both humble and a good cook. What a nice combo.

“Enough with all this quiz. Miles, I want to talk with you, now!” Georgina dropped her chopsticks with a fed up behavior, got up from her chair and left the house.

“Excuse me, please ”
He bowed his head and took his leave.

Outside the house.
Georgina tapped her foot on the ground and stopped when he came out of the house.

“Did you come here to steal my parents attention from me?”
She came back to spend time with them and not to entertain another man's child.

“Georgina, I came to your house for some different reasons. You grew up here and it might be hard for me to live my normal life here, so why not stay at yours for the meantime .”

“My house does not look like a hotel to you where you just come and crash!”

“Come, I will show you around ” She tucked her left hand in her pocket and moved out of the gate along with him.
They roamed the street for about five minutes and Miles was itching to break the silence.

“Georgina, about yesterday, I have been meaning to tell you......something. ”

“Yesterday? What happened yesterday ” She stopped to hear what he had to say.
Her heart skipped a beat when he mentioned yesterday and wanted to tell her something. Did he really recall everything?

“You do not remember? We........”

“No I do not. And thanks for taking me back home last night, I really appreciate it ”
She cut him off before he could mention the one night stand incident to her ears.

“Georgina! I am a doctor for crying out loud and I know you were not drunk when we had sex last night. Why have you been avoiding me since?!”
He held her shoulders and made serious eye contact with him. She could not just taint him and decide to run after her act, it was unprofessional.

“So you know I was not drunk, why did you still let me take advantage of you? What are you trying to say that you were drunk?”

“I was neither drunk that night. I could not just picture what just went wrong. The minute I dropped you on your bed, you felt hot, removed your dress and went fully naked. I made sure you were in the right mind so I would not be the one in the wrong act ”

”Miles, we are both adults. You are neither the first man that I had slept with. As long as I am not pregnant, I hope so. I would not charge you for any crimes so please stop bringing it up, would you?”
Georgina switched to a serious mode. Georgina was not ready to enter any serious relationship and only mingled with guys but never had sex with one of them.
She was just too embarrassed to tell him that it was her first time and he was the first guy to penetrate her.
If she had told him that it was her first, he would feel more guilty then and try to take the fucking responsibility.
Miles breathed out and his fingers trembled at her announcement. So she has been penetrated by other guys other than him. It made him feel a little disappointed.

“This is the last time I will talk about it. About my mission, Ray has noticed and taken stats that the warfare of the bandits, Xizhao must have been smuggled and sold through your sea port. He sent me to go and investigate. ”

“You are so lucky. I am one handed and can not even use a chopsticks talking less of shooting a gun. I just hope there is some kind of solution to my broken right arm.”

“About that, I was able to contact a friend of mine in the US and he told me you are free to come. They can perhaps fix it or give you a robotic hand, anyone that can solve the problem .”
He sat on the bench covered in roses and so did Georgina.

“So there is hope for shooting guns?” Her emotions doubled as she smiled.
And all this while she had faced her destiny as being handicapped, when there was a good solution to her problem.

”Yes .”
His short reply made her yelp in happiness. Joy was just pasted on her face. She rested her neck on the bench and stared directly at the scorching sun.
Miles took a glance at the woman and could not help but smirk. He liked her in this less intimidating appearance and attitude.

“Georgina, this is actually the first time I am not intimidated by you. Most of the time, I can not help but be a coward in front of you. What is your secret?”
At least on this half break and mission, he could get to know his little lady very well both starting from her past and more.

“My secret? I have no secrets. I am who I am today .”

“My parents must be wondering where we went, so let us start heading home.”
