Valerie limped after Gabriel as he opened the car door to enter in. She pushed him in the car and leaned over him.

“Look young man, I am not stupid. Now apologize to me, right now ” Valerie insisted as she kicked him to the car.

“I will if you enter the car .”

“That is fine by me. My legs kinda hurt from standing .” She entered the car and strapped her seatbelt. “Now apologize to me ”

“I am sorry that I called you stupid. You are not stupid .” He jokingly bows his head and starts the engine. He strapped his seatbelt and drove to the hospital.

“Hey, Where are you taking me to?” She asks when she realizes that she never took this kind of route before in her lifetime. “Talk, would ya?”

“To the hospital, of course to disinfect your wounds ”

“Ohhhhhhhhh ”

In the hospital.......
“Your legs are fine, just the knees that are badly hurt. I will write down some medications and tell your boyfriend to get it for you in the pharmacy ” After examining the wound, the doctor said as he threw the gloves into the dustbin and wrote some drug names down.

“We are not dating, ” Valerie explained to the doctor. She could not lose any possibility of bumping into a hot doctor here just because he said they were dating.

“Is her knees okay? Does she need crutches to walk?” His paranoid attitude got the best of him.
The doctor chuckled at the romance between the two of them. One denying they were not in a relationship and one indirectly saying they were. What a confused couple!

“Crutches? I can walk very properly, Mr. Man.”

“I still think you should walk on crutches. Doctor, could you add to the bill?”

“Sure. You can go.”
He raised her right arm over his shoulders and placed her right on his chest. He carried her up along with her handbag to the pharmacy.

“Put me down. People are looking ” Valerie whispered to his ears. She was uncomfortable with an unknown man lifting her up and especially in public. She buried her face in his neck and adjusted well since he refused to accept her words and let her down.

“Let them watch. You are more important .” He finally said as he dropped her down on a wheelchair and strapped the belts of the wheelchair. He hung her bag on his neck and pushed the chair to the pharmacy.

“This is the slip given to us by the doctor .” He gave her the slip along with the bills. He brought out his phone to scan the QR when she held his hands.

“I will scan it. I can't make you pay for my bills ” Valerie also reached for her phone and frowned. She left her phone on the coffee table before opening the door.
Gabriel smirked and bent down to her.

“You can always pay me back later .” He stood up, scanned the QR code and transferred the bills to her. “So, what would we be needing? ”

“Since it is just a wound on the knees, you will need only some ointments and antibacterial cream. Put this on your girlfriend every morning and night and make sure she doesn't stress nor walk too much so it won't prolong the treatment. ” The pharmacist responded back while wrapping the ointments in a nylon.

“You really misunderstood our relationship. He is not......my boyfriend ” She tried to correct her once more but could be ignored. “Let us go. If I stay any longer I might get a headache!”
She bent down and rolled the wheels to the exit. She tried to come down and walk by herself, unluckily she fell down into Gabriel's arms.

“Did you not hear what the doctor said? No moving!” He took her crutches and supported her to the car.

“Valerie!” Felix called out and waved. He went to her instantly. “What happened to you?”
Valerie coughed and shifted away from the man's arm and into her brother's own.

“I am fine, Felix, just a little bRays in the knees ”

“Mr. Davies, it is nice to finally see you after a long time .”

“Sure Mr. Dunlop, I didn't know I would see you at the hospital with my sister .”
The two men glared at each other and spoke with hidden meanings. They were both not happy to meet each other and tried as much as possible not to cause a fiasco at the hospital.

“ Felix, You two know each other?” Valerie stood there confused as she watched the two men exchange meaningful glares at each other.

“Valerie, let us say that we crossed each other's paths in our last life. Thank you for taking my clumsy sister to the hospital. Send me your account details, I will transfer the money you paid on behalf of my sister ”

“Hey! Ge-ge! I am not clumsy ”

“You don't need to do so. Let's say it is an act of charity

He gave him the ointments and her crutches along with her handbag.

“Hope we see again, Mr. Davies ” With that, Gabriel climbed into his car and drove away.

“We will surely see each other again! ”

“Felix! What is wrong with you? He just helped and you chased him away .” With her crutches, she walked to his car, pulled open the door and sat on the chair and Felix followed.

“I should be asking you. When did you start dating Mr. Dunlop? I can allow you to date any guy but you see anyone related to the Hudston's then I won't agree .”

“Who said we were dating?Gosh, just drive and do not talk any more ” She rested her back on the chair and fastened her seatbelt.

In the Big Star clinic.
“Mrs Hudston, I got what you asked me to get .” Georgina, her assistant, gave her the nylon of vegetables and food. “Why are you still on the laptop, huh?”

“Just scrolling through some data. Georgina, I am having a problem with accessing my data, can you see what went wrong? ” Emily sipped the jar of milk next to her.

“The doctor said you need proper rest. You are getting wrinkles on your face and dark circles. Keep working for now, your health is more important. ” Georgina shut down Emily's laptop and opened up the food flask.

“The porridge is hot. So be careful .” A knock came from the door as it was pushed open.

“I will be your attending doctor for now .” He raised his head up and surprised Emily. “Auntie Emily? What are you doing here?”

“Miles? I did not know you dropped out of being an agent and continued running your dad's business?” Emily wiped her mouth and glared at Georgina.
She instructed her to make sure that the hospital she was going to be admitted for had no one that she knew closely. Georgina gave her a pleading look in her eyes.
She did carry out her task well but she could not find out any possible person Mrs Hudston could have come in contact with.

“I did not give up actually. I do both at the same time. Auntie Emily, isn't Ray meant to be here with you?”
Miles took her pulse and jotted some figures down on his notebook. He touched her forehead to check her body temperature.

“Ray? You know my son, he is very busy .” Emily lied. Miles did not know anything about their feud and did not want to start explaining things to him.
She chuckled in her mind, not even in the next life would Ray even bother to care about her.

“Busy, but he should know that his mother is not feeling well. Let me put a call through him .” He took his phone out ready to dial his number when she shut him off.

“For now, I do not want Ray or anybody to find out that I am here. I just don't want to be a burden on them .”

“Okay. For the surgery in the next four days, you will need a member of your family to sign the documents before we can proceed. And for the chemotherapy treatment, we will need to see how far you've gone .” Miles agreed with her.
To him, Auntie Emily was the kindest and most nicest person in the world. Though, she carries a blank and aloof expression but very warm in her heart.
Her own son was even busy seeing his mother on the hospital bed. Doesn't that sound too suspicious?

“hand the document over to Georgina, she will sign it so we can have the surgery right away.”

“I said to your family. Georgina is not your blood though she is adopted but not your blood. In case of any blood problem, we will need your family's DNA test and maybe know their blood groups .”

“Miles, I said I did not want to bother them, why are you making things difficult for me? Georgina is my family for now though she is not related by blood to me.”

“I am sorry, Auntie. I am not making it difficult for you. That is the rule of the hospital. Ray can't be that busy to just run some tests. See you later ” Miles adjusted the remote bed to give her more comfort and left.

“Mrs Hudston, how are we going to get Ray to come and do the test?”

“Well, I will forfeit the surgery. I can't let Ray know about my health for now .” Emily gazed at the window. Her only fear was making Ray know that her only heir was going to be a mutant and might not live.
How would she even start to explain that Alexa and him are half siblings?
