First you had to battle with his troublesome childhood chaser and now, he is mourning another girl. ” Valerie opened the freezer to take two bottles of canned coke. “Such cruel minds ” She popped open one of the drinks with her teeth and gave it to Alexa.

“I can't drink alcohol for now, not until seven months is over. Damn it! I miss the sweet taste of wine ” Alexa licked her lips as she took a glass cup and poured some milk in it. She swirled the glass around her fingers.

“That does it! What kind of rule is that?! How can you give up on sweet wine just because of them! I hate them!” Valerie growled and stumped her palm on the table.
She had never had business to come in contact with the Hudston's but since they decided to mistreat her friend, she needed to take action.

“Calm down feisty! You alone can not go up against the Hudston's. To them, you are an ant and I don't want you to be squashed. They are not that bad actually. Mrs Ran treats me well. I have met some of his people and they are not as cold as he is.”

“You see what I am saying?! What have they done to you?! They bewitched you. My normal friend would abuse them but the new you just stay and support them. Are you truly the Alexa I know?”

“I am just saying, girl. They are more powerful and I do not want you to go against them, that is all and for your information, I hate him triple the way you hate him, so don't assume anything ” Alexa calmed her raging best friend. ValerieValerie had always been the act without thinking person and she could not bare to see her go against the king of the jungle.

“ Your doorbell is ringing, go check who it is, okay?” She drank up the milk in the glass and poured more from the blue jar.
Valerie walked lazily to the door and unlocked it. She gasped and wanted to turn around to warn Alexa about the king of the jungle's arrival but was instantly dragged from the entrance.
Ray entered the apartment and locked them down.

“What is all that noise, Valerie? ” She came out from the kitchen, saw him and turned away. “that traitor!”
She murmured and sighed. And she was here condemning the young master and could not stick to her words. Alexa wiped the milk stain off her lips and faced him.
Her chin widened as she smiled friendlily.

“Where is my friend? What did you do to her?” Alexa went to the door to pull it open and it refused to open. She turned back furiously and rubbed her forehead.
So now she was a prisoner in a friend's house?

“She is fine for now. Care to explain your childish and reckless running away from home technique?” He sat down like a king on the sofa and crossed his legs with the right being slightly higher than the other.
He bent his tall neck to her eyesight and waited for her explanation. His gaze was solely firm on her making sure she did not encounter any harm on her way of running.

“Yes.....yes. I am childish and reckless! I don't think before doing anything. I am irresponsible, anything you want to say?” She shifted her gaze away from him and pointed to the door.

“Whatever you did to that door, open it and find your way out, I hope it is not that hard, Mr. Hudston?”

“You still have not answered my question ” He dragged her back like a father about to scold his daughter for her bad grades. “Why did you run?”
Ray inquired with all authority. His gaze still did not leave the petite woman. He had a little guess that she might have slight jealousy but did not want to conclude that.

“Why don't you go and ask your deceased Ex?! Look, Mr. Hudston, I really don't get why you need me to be this unborn child's mother when you have many pretty alternatives in the world. ” Her jealousy added sarcasm into her words. Her arms her folded and she had her eyes fixed on him too.

“I am waiting to hear an explanation from you, too, ” She demanded. Too bad, she wasn't the one going to only do the explaining, he too has some unexplained business to explain to her.

“Deceased Ex? So you thought she was my ex?” Ray burst into a cold and chilly laughter. After all, he was right. It was jealousy that was eating her.

“What is so funny? Do I sound funny? Did my question make you laugh?” With agitation, she laid her anger on him.
She meant business and he was laughing. What kind of attitude is that?

“No you do not and the question is not funny either. I just seemed to recall something amusing right now. Audrey is my childhood friend and the reason why it was compulsory to attend the memorial is because she saved me. It was a cold night and my birthday too, I wanted to go out to watch a movie in the cinema ”

“Audrey happened to be at my house and my mother was not around either. I decided that we should watch it and as it was my day, she had to agree, so we went to the movie. To cut long story short, she took the bullet for me ”
Ray explained everything to her. He did not really think she would misunderstand their relationship but damn, she thought Audrey was his Ex?
What kind of conclusion is that?

“I didn't ask for that! ” She shook her head and rolled her eyes. So that meant he was paying his last respect to her and not what she thought of? “So what do you want from me?”

“To go home .”

“Home? I won't go there!” Alexa refused and looked away. She hated looking at him because his aura made her feel belittled.

“Oh come on! What the fuck is wrong with you? You are becoming difficult every time of the day!” He rolled back his hair and stood up. He took his step closer and closer to her and locked her in a tight space.

“Hey, let go of me. Why are you this close to me?” She struggled out of his embrace. She slowly saw him bending down and lifting her chin. Her face turned red and she hid it with her palms.

“My wife has a pretty bad temper and I need to cool her down .” Ray rested his chin on her head and patted hair. He sniffed her scent and pulled back.
Her scent right now was so unusual that he quickly noticed it.

“Did any man touch you?” Ray raised his brows and separated from Alexa.

“Yes and so why? If you can go around having Ex's then I should have my own freedom .”

“You! Should I remind you that breaching the contract could make you end up in jail? You are becoming vicious and tongue sharped everyday. You allowed a man to touch you?”

“You are not my father or my mother to care about me! We are just in a contract, so deal with it.” Alexa harshly said as she felt the unpleasant vibe that came out from Ray.

“Alright then. We are in a contract marriage and I do not have any fucking right to care about you .” Ray left the apartment slamming the door real hard.
He totally forgot that they were in a contract marriage and not dating which made them not suppose to care about each other's personal life.

“Boss ” His men bowed and he waved his hands making them clear for him. He walked down the staircase and into his car.

Meanwhile.......

“Let me in! Hey!” Valerie screamed her lungs out and tried to maneuver through the bulky security. “Are you all deaf?”
Gabriel who got tired of her childish yelling came out and parted the way.

“You! I know you right? You are the one who came to get me from my house when Alexa fell into a coma, huh?”

“ Oh Miss Davies, Due to the situation, I could not fully introduce myself. I am Gabriel ”

“I don't care and did not ask you anything. You Hudston's are vicious and wicked. Let me in! Oh my poor Alexa! ” Valerie tries her luck but falls to the ground. Gabriel sighed and squatted down to lend her a hand up.

“You okay?” He helped her from the ground and straightened his tie. “My boss and the young miss just have some unclear misunderstandings and that is what they are doing there. He is not going to devour her like your stupid imagination ”

“I am neither stupid nor have any crazy imagination. I am just watching out for my friend, that is all. If you don't move from here, I will summon my men to get you to my entrance. This is trespassing and is very punishable by law.” Valerie faced him while pointing at her entrance. “Ouch ” she yelped in pain.
Her knees were wounded because of the fall she had. She walked bent and sat on the porch.

“You are bleeding. ” Gabriel went along with her to the large cushion next to her door. “Let me see your legs .”

“No! Are you a doctor? No, why should I show you?”

“But I have less sense than you.”

“You! Come back here and apologize to me now!”
