Ruckus

*Chapter 114*

"That is our fate, Prince Atticus," Luna Queen Rachelle said coldly. "Who are you to question the Moon Goddess' decision? You are just a mere lycan. While we..." she paused and looked at everyone. "We are spirit goddesses dressed in human form and wolf form. We are the second to the highest supreme beings in the celestial and mundane world. And that is how you are going to talk with us?!"

I felt goosebumps as the ground was shaking a little. I was frightened that I knew that Frederick had offended my older sister and now if we didn't do something, she might destroy the entire palace.

"Claude," Isabella called.

Claude, my brother-in-law, stepped forward and placed his hands on Rachelle's shoulders. "Love, please... We are not here to make enemies to the Sowinski Kingdom," he said softly, calming her down.

I went to Frederick who was still glaring at Rachelle. He was also clenching his hand. "If you are going to take Novalie from me, then I am not allowing it. The hell that you and Novalie are spirit goddesses! Don't take her away from me!" he said angrily.

"Atticus!" Alpha King Azarius called him.

I stepped forward to face him "Darling, look at me," I commanded softly. I shook my head when he glanced at me but then he still continued glaring at Rachelle. I cupped his face. "Don't make me say it twice," I said with a warning and commanding tone.

Frederick stiffened. His expression immediately softened when he looked at me.

"Ray..."

"I am calmed now, love..."

After hearing that, I sighed in relief when Frederick purred under my touch and looked at me lovingly causing my heart to react. Even my wolf wanted to push me into kissing him for being a good boy.

But now was not the right time to do that.

Frederick cupped my face after that. "Please don't leave me, Novalie... You know that I would go insane if you will not be with me..." His voice croaked.

I held his hand and nodded. "I will not leave you, Frederick..." Shit... My feelings for him were gradually pouring out. What he felt right now... I was feeling them. His feelings were overwhelming. He was letting me know that he would die if I happened to return by my mother's side.

"Can we rest now?" I asked as I turned at Alpha King Azarius. "He needs to calm down or he will fight with my sister, Your Majesty," I pleaded.

He sighed and nodded. "Alright." He stood up. "Claudian, is it possible that Luna Queen Rachelle and Lady Isabelle might retire first? I have a feeling that Atticus would wreak havoc here any moment."

Rachelle scoffed. "Then, I shall prepare to fight—" Her words were cut off when Claude covered her mouth with his mouth. "Hmm!" She glared at her mate.

"Not a word, Ray." Claude shook his head. "I don't want a war with another kingdom, understand?" he said seriously but subtly. She rolled her eyes and nodded. He sighed in relief. "We thank you for your hospitality. Perhaps, we should take our leave first." He turned his head to his son. "Cloudy, let's go."

My nephew nodded. "Yes, Papa!" He started to run in their direction and held Isabella's hand. "Auntie, let's go, too."

"Yes." Isabella glanced at me. "See you later, Novalie."

I nodded. "Yes, sister." I smiled.

When they left, Frederick growled which made me turn my head upon seeing the Twin Garnets stepping forward and cornering us.

"What is the meaning of this?" he asked, being cautious. Frederick immediately hid me behind him.

Alpha King Azarius sighed and leaned toward the table. "Seize him," he said coldly.

"Wait!" I said but it was already too late for me to take action when the Twin Garnets seized Frederick. "Your Majesty!" I was frustrated right now. Don't tell me that they were going to lock him up in the dungeon?

"He needs to be punished for hurting a deity," he said, smiling. "He hurts you and he almost dares to hurt the Luna Queen and the Goddess of Mate Bond."

"But..." I couldn't continue my words when Father halted me.

"They value the information about the arrival of the spirit goddesses, Novalie. They wouldn't take it lightly if one of the subjects hurt one of you," Father explained.

"But he only did what he thought was right at that time!" I couldn't help raising my voice. "I was 16 by that time, Father! Frederick cares for my welfare so he had to do that to keep me away from an early marriage!" Heck... I was really frustrated upon knowing this. But at the same time, I was really overwhelmed that Frederick had taken so much risk just for me.

So, I wanted to do something for him. I wanted to show him that I also felt the same way.

"Novalie, go now. I got this," Frederick said, smiling. "It's just a punishment. They are not going to take you away from me. I will always come and find you. You know that."

"But..." I looked at him, worried when the Twin Garnets forced him to kneel down on the floor.

Alucard stepped forward. "We have been waiting for the arrival of the daughters of the Moon Goddess, sister-in-law. We cannot allow the disgrace Atticus had shown to you and to Luna Queen Rachelle."

I clenched my hands as my face darkened. I felt like my vision was close to tint in red. They would dare to hurt my darling just for this. I couldn't accept it.

"My goddess!" I snapped back when Frederick called my attention. "Allow me to handle things here. Please! Trust me!" He smiled, nodding his head. He was urging me to trust him this time.

"They are going to hurt you..." I said, half-annoyed right now.

He bestowed me with a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, my goddess." Lies. His eyes faltered. "Believe me."

"Frederick..." I am more worried now. If what Father said was that they weren't going to take this lightly, then the punishment must have been heavy.

"Novalie, let's go," Father said.

I clenched my hands before I ripped the skirt of my dress and attacked Alistair and Alejandro. I didn't mind that the galaxy moon necklace fell from my hand as I was eager to protect Frederick from harm.

"Novalie!"

I halted when Frederick raised his voice. I was almost to reach Alucard because he blocked my way and now, I couldn't continue because Frederick called me by my name.

"Go now," he said in a firm tone. "I won't be that long. I promise..." His tone changed into a soft one.

"But I cannot—"

"Let me handle this just for once and halt from protecting me!" he said, raising his tone. He sounded frustrated. "Please!"

My chest went heavy. My wolf urged me not to allow this but Frederick was looking at us, wanting me to trust him. I shook my head. I glanced at Mother Luna Queen Adeline who approached me.

"Dear, it is better that he is being punished by us instead of by your mother, our Moon Goddess," she said softly. "I heard from Luna Queen Rachelle that Lady Isabella's mate attempted to hurt Her Majesty." My eyes widened from what she said.

"What? Isabella's mate tried to hurt Rachelle?"

She nodded. "I don't know how it resorted to that but you can ask her. Her Majesty advised us that it is better if we punish Atticus severely rather than having to taste the wrath of the Moon Goddess. Your mother traumatized Lady Isabella's mate so please... let us handle this case."

I stayed silent, calming myself. I was starting to act irrationally so I needed to assess the situation first. I glanced at Father who picked up the galaxy moon necklace and looked at it with a longing stare.

I suddenly had an idea. "If I speak with my mother and ask Her to spare Frederick, will you halt this madness of punishing my darling?" I asked, facing the members of the royal lycan family.

"Novalie," Frederick called my name.

Sighing, I looked at him. "I care about you, Frederick. I cannot allow them to hurt you," I said, causing his eyes to widen in surprise. I smiled and winked at him before I turned to Father who bestowed me my necklace. "Father..." I murmured, staring at him.

Father nodded. "See Her for me. Tell Her that I missed Her already." His voice croaked. He even sighed shakily.

I knew that he had been wanting to see my mother.

Never. Never by any chance did he look for another woman to satiate his feelings for her. Father never failed to show his devotion to the Moon Goddess who was his mate.

When I was born and Mother bestowed me to him since I had a mission here in the mundane world, that was also the last time Father had seen Her. Even though he never told me how he met Her and only told me a few things about what could have been my purpose here, I could see how much he loved Her.

But I silently wished that by that time, Father showed me how much he loved me as his daughter. Because I had never felt it.

I nodded my head. "Yes, Father. I shall do that." Before I could wear the necklace, I glanced at Frederick who looked worried now. I was pleased now that the Twin Garnets didn't apprehend him. "I'll come back, darling. Please don't let yourself get hurt," I said.

"Come back, Novalie..." I nodded and smiled at him lovingly.

As soon as I wore it, I gasped when my surroundings changed into a lavender field. I realized that I was in the middle of the field having no one around me but full of lavender. Even the scent of them reached my nostrils right now.

"Where am I?" I asked myself, perplexed.

*"Noblete, you are finally here!"*

I stiffened and turned around upon hearing a godly female voice as my eyes were glistening in tears when I finally saw Her. "Mother?"
