Wall Burgundy Pack
*Chapter 56*
We arrived at the Wall Burgundy pack after thirty minutes of the ride in the carriage.
"My goddess, you said that you are going to punish me..."
I ignored him as Frederick helped me to get down from the carriage. I scoffed mentally. Didn't he realize that he was being punished right now?
By ignoring him?
In my peripheral vision, Frederick frowned. I could tell that he was close to tantrums. I smirked mentally grasping that if he thought that he could act like a brat to me just because he was questioning how I handle things with him so he could have punishment, then I wasn't going to tolerate it until he learns how to behave.
"My goddess..."
I turned to Basil. "Stay here. If you need anything, mind link me."
Basil bowed his head. "Yes, Luna. As you wish." Hesitant, he glanced at Frederick. "H-How about S-Sir Frederick?"
I glanced at Frederick who was beside me. I gasped and acted surprised to see him. "You're here? Oh, sorry. I didn't notice you, darling."
That earned him a frown. "I have been with you throughout—"
"Let's go," I butt in, smirking. I didn't want to allow him to finish his words. He must realize that what I was doing right now was punishing him. He must wait until we come back to the Lone Crow pack because I would force him to cum so many times.
Without fail.
I was sure that he would love it since he had been begging for my punishment after all. It would be favorable to him.
"Greetings, Lady Novalie."
I nodded as I came to meet the pack warriors who were guarding the gate of the Wall Burgundy pack. "Greetings," I greeted back with a polite smile. "I have come here to pay the pack a visit. I believe I have made a formal—"
"Novalie!"
The gate opened. It revealed the most precious human beings who treated me like their daughter and I treated them like my real parents. I smiled softly upon seeing them and immediately curtsied.
"Alpha Denzil, Luna Helen, it is my pleasure to see the two of you again," I said in my utmost respect before I bowed deeply to them.
The couple nodded with a smile before Luna Helen hugged me which surprised me a little.
"It is so nice to see you again, Novalie," Luna Helen said as she hugged me so tight. "Since you get married, I never get a chance to have some companions here for spending some leisure time," she added before she broke our hug.
I giggled. "Me, too, Luna Helen. Oh, how I wish my house was near to you. I am missing your teaching about embroidery." I sighed as I couldn't help to hug her so I could feel her warmth. But then I realized that she was my Luna and the Duchess of Razor. I immediately separated myself from her. "P-Pardon me, Luna. I cannot help myself..." I said softly.
Gone were the stern and cold voices from me. When it came to them, I softened.
Luna chuckled and caressed my cheek. "You are always welcome to hug me, Novalie. Do not hesitate." She winked.
"Why don't you come in now?" Alpha Denzil ushered his hand. "I am certain that you are tired from your trip."
I only nodded even though the trip wasn't that tiring. I only spent thirty minutes staying in the carriage so the trip wasn't that long.
"That would be good." I nodded, smiling.
They ushered to go inside. "Your father is at Carson at the moment. I told him that you are coming but he said that he will come later," Alpha Denzil said.
I was about to answer Alpha Denzil that it wasn't new to me to encounter that but one of the pack warriors came to halt us. He bowed his head before he spoke.
"Alpha, Lady Novalie brought her knight. Shall we allow him to come inside as well?"
I gasped and turned my head to see Frederick who was in the gate, looking at me with those puppy eyes.
"He is with me," I said immediately.
Damn! I almost forgot about him! I was so preoccupied with my reunion with Alpha Denzil and Luna Helen that I forgot that I have Frederick with me.
"Knight? You have a knight?" Alpha Denzil chuckled when we were in their garden to have some tea.
"It is." I glanced at Frederick when I felt his intense gaze beside me. I could already tell that he was sulking. I turned my attention to Alpha Denzil. "He is."
"That's new. Since when did you decide to have a knight with you?" he asked and held Luna Helen's hand to intertwine with his.
"Just a few months ago, Alpha," I answered politely.
"But I thought you never wanted to have a knight." Luna Helen smiled. "Since you said before that it didn't really matter."
I chuckled and nodded. "I am capable of protecting myself, yes. That is correct, Luna," I paused as I managed to see Father's manor that was a few meters away from where we were. I cleared my throat. "Thanks to the gruesome training I experienced here in Wall Burgundy pack. I am feeling at ease that I can protect myself."
"I told you, Helen." Alpha Denzil winked at her. "You should have nothing to worry about Novalie. I am confident that what I taught to our pack members would be beneficial for them."
"I agree." Chortling, I nodded.
"Don't forget that Novalie is a prodigy. She is really excellent at swordsmanship," Luna Helen said before she turned her head to me. "You should have tried to join the sword competition, Novalie. You must showcase your talent." She clapped her hands.
I smiled after I sipped on my tea. "As much as I want to, Luna Helen, here in the Sowinski Kingdom, they haven't held a competition to join a woman in the sword competition."
That was the most anticipated event I'd been looking forward to here. However, it became a hindrance since I am a female. they hadn't executed any new royal ordinance that they are allowing women to join in such extreme competitions.
Unlike in the Waevalon Kingdom, they already implemented a new royal ordinance when the previous Alpha King announced a decree that they were allowing women to join to any career such as becoming a military soldier, royal knight, practice some profession, or build their own business. They already allowed that a woman could become an Alpha or became a matriarch to a main branch noble family.
"Fret not, Novalie." I turned my attention when Alpha Denzil spoke. "The aristocratic faction and the commoner faction are already working on a draft law to be proposed to the royal court and to His Majesty, Alpha King Azarius. They have been discussing this before Alpha King Azarius makes a decree for this," he explained.
"Really?" My face brightened up as I leaned forward. "I-Is that true, Alpha Denzil?" I clasped my hands, praying that what I heard was not wrong.
"We are already working with it along with my fellow nobles in the court."
I gasped softly as I clapped my hands. "Dear me... That is a piece of good news!" I exclaimed. I turned to Frederick. "Isn't that right, d—" I halted and chuckled nervously when I turned at Alpha Denzil and Luna Helen who looked bewildered because I suddenly stopped. I cleared my throat. "Um... Frederick is my companion and I am comfortable with him... Please excuse my discourtesy."
Damn it! I almost mentioned 'darling' right in front of them. That should be embarrassing on my part.
I knew to myself that I could utter this to other fellow nobles by calling Frederick as my darling but doing it in front of them, I must be courting humiliation.
"It's alright, Novalie," Alpha Denzil said and nodded before he glanced at Frederick. "You look like someone I knew, Sir Frederick. You also look familiar. What do you think, Helen?"
"Oh, yeah. You're right..."
I almost creased my forehead. Did he look familiar to them? Must be because Frederick was handsome? But I didn't think they would find someone who looked similar to Frederick.
Frederick chuckled and bowed his head. "I am honored that His Grace, Duke Jansen and Her Grace, Duchess Jansen tell me that I looked like someone. But I am certain that I am one of a kind," he jested.
Alpha Denzil and Luna Helen laughed at it. "It must be," they said in unison.
"But I think that I really have seen you somewhere," Alpha Denzil said afterwards. He even stroked his chin.
I glanced at Frederick who suddenly looked uncomfortable. Sighing softly, I turned my head at Alpha Denzil. I was about to speak up when Luna Helen spoke.
"I just remembered that your birthday was yesterday!" she exclaimed as she gasped.
I blinked, chuckling. Then I remembered something. "Ah, yes. I have a post-birthday party this weekend. Here is the invitation, Alpha, Luna," I said and bestowed them the invitation.
I watched as their faces brightened up. "We will surely be there!" they said in unison which warmed me up.
"Thank you, Alpha Denzil, Luna Helen!" I knew that I wasn't hoping for visitors for my birthday but if they were going to attend and they were only my guests there, I would be happy to be with them and entertain them. I rose in my seat. "Can I use the lavatory for a moment? I will be right back," I told.
Luna Helen rose in her seat as well. "I shall escort you. I shall get something for your knight. I think he is hungry already."
I turned at Frederick who suddenly panicked. His eyes were telling me that he didn't want to be left with Alpha Denzil who was looking at him with an intense gaze. "I'll be right back," I uttered.
He opened his mouth but he coerced a smile and nodded. "Yes, my lady."
Excited, I turned at Luna Helen and clung to her arm as soon as she escorted me to the lavatory. I didn't stay there that long as I managed to go to the kitchen area with Luna Helen. We talked a bit when I volunteered that I should be the one who must brew the tea.
Luna Helen clasped her hands as her face brightened up. "It has been a long time since I last tasted the tea you brew, Novalie. I have missed the old times." I couldn't help the smile draw out to my lips when she hugged my side. "I really missed your childhood here. I missed all the fun we did. I really missed dressing you up."
"Luna..." I chuckled. I could tell that my cheeks were tinted in red right now.
Back then, Luna Helen always invited me to their manor so she could ask me to try the dress she purchased just for me. She always bestowed me with those dresses which were still kept in the Father's manor.
She gently cupped my cheeks. "How's your life after your marriage with Viscount Westervelt? I have heard that he was in a vegetative state," she said softly. "Did you two brawl again? Denzil even laughed at it because he knew that you dealt with your husband like that."
I looked into her eyes. My heart felt how Luna Helen cared for me like I was her pup. I was so grateful that she was caring like this and I experienced having a mother figure because of her.
I averted my gaze before I chuckled and returned my gaze to her. "It was just a normal fight between husband and wife, Luna. It is nothing serious, to be honest."
It was true. There was nothing to be worried about because Reginald was just a bastard who he thought could surpass me. I was already an Alpha of the Lone Crow pack but I haven't taken it yet because I have no interest in taking it.
She frowned a little. "That isn't a normal fight to me." She heaved a sigh and caressed my cheek. "Poor child... Arranged marriages really bring your happiness to null. You even experienced two arranged marriages..." She hugged me so tight.
That almost cried me up but I only looked at the ceiling as I hugged Luna Helen. It was comforting to have a mother by your side.
I could have wished I saw my mother as well.
"Thank you for always caring for me, Luna Helen," I said as I broke our hug so I could look at her. "Even though I am already a Luna in another pack, I always missed you as my Luna." I couldn't help getting emotional.
Just being with her and Alpha Denzil, I could be vulnerable to them. I trusted them just as they trusted me.
"You are really such a sweet child, Novalie." Her lips drew out a bright, genuine smile. "Let's head back now. Shall we?" I nodded my head as I smiled brightly.
As we sauntered to the hallway, Luna Helen and I talked as she gave more advice on how to supervise the pack members. She even gave me some tips for Luna's duties which I gladly listened to. She didn't ask any more about my marriage with Reginald because she knew how I hated that man.
"What in the world are you here?!"
Luna Helen and I exchanged glances when we both heard Father's voice booming all over from the garden.
"You son of a bitch! Do you have any idea how you hurt my—"
"Nigelle!"
My eyes widened when I heard that someone was being hit. Luna Helen and I didn't think twice as we hastily went outside so we could check what was happening.
I gasped when I saw Father who fell to the ground as he hissed, glaring at Alpha Denzil who was towering him with his Alpha aura surrounding him.
"Denzil! What is happening?!"
I creased my forehead, wondering what was happening to Father and Alpha Denzil. Then my eyes landed on Frederick who was also sitting on the ground. I gasped as I saw his face was covered in blood.
With that, I called his name, horrified. "Frederick!"
