Chapter 14
Tiffany ends up learning some important information about her parents when they were in college from Professor winfield, finally getting some of the answers he always wanted to know. However, sometimes the answers to previous questions only end up creating more questions.
Kengsington was calling Howard out on the basketball court. He shows up to ask him what's going on with the release of the music video for Breathe. Howard tries to explain the situation truthfully but kengsington thinks he's only telling excuses. Things begin to get tense between the two and ends with Howard vowing that he won't ever sing the song again
Kengsington, however, doesn't want to hear any more of Howard's promises and thought that he wouldn't sing the song for Tiffany's sake. He also tells Howard that he's out of chances and not to blame him for continuing to be mean to him.
Tiffany is mad once he leaves and asks about the deal that happened wondering if kengsington is using her to threaten him about the song but Howard doesn't answer the question and changes the subject to getting back to their rehearsal.
Laurence is working at her restaurant job when she sees kengsington drinking himself away. They briefly meet eyes but she goes to continue tidying up. She does mention to her boss about him drinking too much but he explains that it's a common occurrence, he drinks there until he passes out drunk all the time and asks that they leave him alone. She tries to say something but he tells her not to worry about it since he'll go home once he's sober.
She does end up approaching him asking him if he's okay. Kengsington, clearly drunk, calls Laurence seeing her as Victoria in his eyes, and tells her not to go. He ends up passing out on Laurence and later when he wakes up there's a coat on him and some porridge with a note from her. He, thankfully does actually eat it.
It's the day of the performance and Tiffany and Laurence are talking about it and head to the doorway of the classroom where they run into kengsington. Tiffany immediately informs him, while blocking off the entry way, that Howard isn't around, but he told her he's here to deliver Laurence jacket. Laurence doesn't say anything but kengsington thanks her before taking his leave. Tiffany then wonders if the two of them don't own enough clothes since they frequently exchange them. Laurence attempts to change the subject by ushering Tiffany along to a meeting about the play but she doesn't hide her suspicion about the
They do a last minute rehearsal and Jeff can't keep his eyes off of Tiffany, seemingly distracted. Bernice, on the other hand, watches as Howard and Tiffany dance as her minions tell her that she's about to have Howard taken away from her.
Andrew arrives at that moment and Tiffany cheerfully goes over to greet him, much to the upset of Howard. He begins to bring up the play but Howard stops the conversation midway by telling Tiffany he has a problem with the moves. She goes over to him to go over them again but Bernice interrupts asking to rehearse together.
There starts the scene where Gaston takes on the castle and Belle steps in to save the Beast. The two begin to swordfight on stage where Bernice yells that Howard is hers. Professor winfield notes that their emotions are good but they have the wrong lines and orders them to do it again.
Word has obviously spread that Howard is playing Belle so the theater quickly becomes crowded with his fans waiting to see.
The show starts and Howard appears in Belle's clothing. The crowd is shocked and surprised. Why do I find this so funny? Howard dressing like a lady.
Tiffany is backstage looking through the curtain. Jeff is back there to encourage her before going on his way and she pumps herself up a bit but is definitely nervous. She finds a water bottle and begins to drink some, only to find out that it's alcohol that is going to be used for the props.
The scene with Gaston begins, the scene that they were rehearsing earlier, and everything goes without a hitch. Howard makes his appearance as Belle in the famous yellow dress, which is still as hilarious as it was when he appeared in her blue village dress. The play reaches the finale, with Tiffany, the Beast, on Howard, Belle's, lap as he slowly dies. Everything seems to be going well but when Howard says that he loves her, in the script, Tiffany replies with she loves him, too, and kisses him. Afterwards she passes out and Howard is stunned. The audience has seemingly loved it though, with Professor winfield resting her hand on her forehead.
When Tiffany wakes up she's in her own room and discovers that she just woke up after being drunk during the play. She discovers that Professor winfield isn't feeling well and is concerned, wanting to go see her. Seeing that some members of the class have already gone to see her, Laurence does tell her she can go alone, which she agrees to.
She goes to Professor winfield's house and while she is surprised, he does let her in. Tiffany tells him that his health is the most important thing and he shouldn't overwork himself and admits to misunderstanding her. Professor winfield doesn't take it to heart, though, probably knowing how the other students see him and goes to get Tiffany some fruit.
While he's gone Tiffany looks around his bookshelf and finds the same picture of Professor winfield with her parents. She takes it off to look at it with tears welling in her eyes. Professor winfield can see that something's wrong and asks if she knows the people in the picture and Tiffany admits that they're her parents. She ends up transforming back into her original self and Professor winfield comments on her likeness to her mother and admits she had a sense of intelligence when she heard her play the piano.
We're taken back to twenty years ago when Professor winfield was the new boy in class and Tiffany's father Alonzo, became his first friend declaring them brothers because of their shared surname. He even told the students that whoever bullied Professor winfield would be getting it from him.
Professor winfield tells Tiffany that her father was a hero that would help and care for him and that even if Tiffany's father forgot, he would always remember. he asks Tiffany about her parents and that's when she drops the bomb that her mother passed away years ago and she doesn't know where her father is. Tiffany also reveals her intention on coming to the school.
Suddenly hearing the news about what has happened, Professor winfield feels guilty about not keeping in contact with them but Tiffany asks for stories about her father since she's never heard of any before. She explains that whenever she asked her grandfather he would say that her father abandoned her mother and that he never came back to see her. She just wants to know if her father is really that bad and if he didn't love her mother.
