Chapter 43

The fangirls are looking at Jordan's  feed as they find that he's asked fans to do something. They figure it might be impossible but they knew that if they all work together they'll be able to succeed and get hard at work.
The day of the engagement ceremony has come and Howard and Bernice take their places in front of the alter at church. So maybe this is more like a wedding than an engagement party. But either way, Bernice is as happy as she can be while there isn't a smile or any trace of happiness on Howard's face.
The ceremony finally starts and of course Bernice agrees for Howard to be his fiancée. When the question is asked to Howard, he has zoned out and before he can answer, the doors open and Tiffany came in to object to the union.
She proudly walks down the path, much to the surprise of everyone pretty much. She approaches Howard and Bernice angrily yells at her wondering why she's interrupting her ceremony. Tiffany  explains that she's there to officially introduce herself. She introduces herself to Howard and brings up all the past things she was to him like his fiancée, assistant, female lead in his music video, and business partner. She finishes by saying that he is hers.
Howard is stunned into silence as Tiffany announces she's done talking. He tells her that saying sorry to her is useless and before he can say anything else, she tells him that he doesn't have to because she's not there to kidnap the groom, the one thing she wants to do is to redeem her handshake voucher that's contained in his new album. She holds out her hand and says hello. Howard slowly takes Tiffany's hand, much to Bernice anger and surprise, and the two stare at each other with tears forming in their eyes.
Bernice begins to freak out because they've been holding hands for more than five seconds and tries to tear them apart but Tiffany reveals that she doesn't just have one voucher and pulls out more from her bag as she doesn't let go of Howard's hands. Turns out the girls from the café are there and pull a string that makes even more vouchers fall from the ceiling to the ground around them and ‘Star' begins to play with the lyrics, it was just the instrumental before. Jeff looks so impressed and proud.
Howard and Tiffany looks at each other as they continue to fall and Tiffany tells howard that he must keep his word. Howard, regaining his senses, pulls Tiffany over to his side and tells her that he won't let go of her again and he finally smiles. He apologizes to Bernice confessing that the person he loves is Tiffany and that he can't continue to lie to everyone, including himself. He calls off the engagement ceremony and runs out of the hall with Tiffany, hand-in-hand as Bernice calls after him.
The two take off running through the streets, happy as they can be.
I that was a nice catch, when Tiffany just comes in and shows everyone who's boss. and ‘Star' began to play that's a perfect situation.
For Tiffany, the talk with her grandfather kind of spurred her to take control and go after Howard. In a way, during that talk, her grandfather was letting her go. He was letting her do what she wanted and, when talked about how he'd support her mother, was talking about her in extension. And it was because of that that Tiffany decided to introduce herself to Howard as her true self, even though she was  dressed in her more comfortable attire as Tiffany rather than Jessica's luxurious style. By introducing herself as everything that she had been to him so far, it was kind of like they were starting a new, that they didn't have the baggage of the past anymore and it was then that Tiffany  decide to go to Howard so he could also experience that sort of like renewal.
Her using the vouchers was a smart idea and by using them, Tiffany was giving Howard the opportunity to escape. Up until that point he really was being backed into a corner and he knew he was. He realized that there was nothing he could do to escape the engagement and was just going to accept it but the appearance of Tiffany and the handshake vouchers gave him a reason to fight for Tiffany and his own happiness. he thought that Tiffany had given up on the relationship because of her not appearing, because of the stressful way things had been happening, or because of the words that they had said to one another, but her appearance finally knocked sense into him showing that what he was doing was just totally wrong.
Bernice dream is shatered she thought howard agreeing to the wedding makes everything works but she's wrong, and between the two susanne is more to blame. She was the one who put the idea and kept pushing that Bernice was going to be marrying Howard  no matter what. Even when they were shopping for gowns she told Bernice  that the earlier the better because then that Tiffany wouldn't be in the way. If it weren't for her, then Bernice might've actually been able to get the proper help she needed the entire time without being told lies about how happy her life was going to be with Howard. She might not have realized just how bad it was, since she lived in a constant delusion of thinking that she and Howard were going to be together anyway, but of course getting left at the alter is an experience in itself.
Another situation that will make one felt pity is the  phone call and goodbye of Howard and Tiffany.( As a writer my self i  just felt their pain).
Howard knowing that the only thing he could really do was only apologize to Tiffany and she perhaps finally understands the position that Howard was in. During that situation   Howard felt that he had cut himself off from all of his emotions throughout the entire process and was just basically a robot of himself when he interacted with Bernice about the entire thing but whenever he interacted with Tiffany over the phone, he'd always end up crying somehow and actually showing some sort of emotion.
Even though it was painful to see Howard backed into the corner and susanne act as though she was able to control Howard and everyone around her like a puppet, Laurence and Jeff were glad that Tiffany and Howard are back on good terms.
