Chapter 32

Kensington applauds her for her analysis but she doesn't have any evidence therefore nothing can be done and he knows that. Jeff brings up the fact that the three of them grew up together but that doesn't matter to kengsington and that he's going to do everything he can to make Howard miserable because of the incident that happened, Victoria's accident. Angry, Tiffany promises to find the evidence
The next day When Tiffany tells Daniel about kengsington, she asks about Howard and learns that he isn't doing well but he's confident he'll be able to come up with something. Once he hangs up, Daniel asks Anna to give him a list of employees that have a high turnover probability and says that they need to find evidence that someone stole the music sheet before the press conference.
Bernice and Andrew head to Glen's house to try to get evidence against him. Bernice asks him straight out if he was the one who did it to Howard and when he denies it, she offers to pay him off. He wonders if she sent them to bribe him and Andrew denies it but Bernice doesn't.
When Bernice pushes him back a little bit, a recording device falls from his hands and he threatens that Howard's reputation will be ruined if he releases it. In an instant, Andrew sprays something in his face, grabs the device, and he and Bernice book it out of there. They wonder what's going to happen to Howard but Andrew is confident in Howard's abilities to make a new song.
That night kengsington and his lackeys hang out near Laurence workplace. She goes out to ask him about Howard's case and kengsington doesn't deny his involvement. Laurence makes sure to establish a line between them before telling him that he's not an evil person therefore he should stop before it gets worse. She suggests that they turn themselves in but his lackeys only laugh in her face about it. When one of the lackeys starts suggesting Laurence be one of kengsington's girlfriends, kengsington puts a stop to it and the three leave.
Howard's father returns home and hears that he's been stuck in his room for the past two days and hasn't eaten much. He's still trying to figure out a song, to no avail, when his father walks in. He hears that Howard hasn't had any ideas yet and suggests that the two play some games and so they end up playing the Nintendo Switch together. That seemingly helps Howard relieve some of his stress.
They eventually take a break on the couch where his father compares Howard to his mother, saying that he's simple but committed. Howard wonders if he should give up since the following day is the due date of the song but he's written nothing. His father questions if he's actually given it his all to protect what he loves and explains that humans either live as grass or as tree, either living while receiving and never growing or being able to survive anywhere. He expresses his faith in him and sends him to write his song but not before handing him a box and warning Howard not to let someone who likes him down.
Howard is unsure what he means but his father says that he met a girl outside, the one who created a ruckus at his wedding. earlier Tiffany was holding a box outside of Howard's house and ran into his father there. She tries to hide her face from him, not wanting him to recognize her, and hands over the box asking that it should be passed to Howard.
He accepts the box and opens it in his room to reveal a picture of himself with a note from her. She expresses her hopes for him to be able to smile through the difficult period and says that they'll always support him. She includes that she personally signed the picture and after placing it on his desk, Howard begins to write a song.
I knew Tiffany wouldn't be able to give up on him that easily. She's clearly his number one supporter and really the number one person Howard wants support from as he always looks for her. That's why her rejecting him was probably so hard on him. It's just like what he said to her back then, he slowly began to be concerned with what Tiffany thought of him and that it began to hold more importance.
I don't really understand why kengsington still has it out for Howard. I get that he can still be mad and everything when it comes to the accident but it doesn't mean that he has to make Howard's life a nightmare. It's okay to be angry and maybe not fully be over about what happened back then, because it never seemed like there was proper closure anyway, but that doesn't mean he should try to block the life of someone who is trying to move on. And some of it might have to do with Bernice. It's clear that he and Bernice are still close while Howard and Jeff are close, so it's kind of like the line has been divided. Sort of like Howard and Jeff are the ones who are trying to move on while Bernice and kengsington are the ones who kind of live in the past. Therefore probably being around that, since Bernice seems like she's the one who can't let it go the most, probably isn't that healthy as he probably won't ever be able to get past it.
Tiffany isn't one to back down from a challenge. She seems like she knows she has to face things head on and doesn't run away from it. She stands up for Howard when seemingly everyone has turned against him and makes it known, like when she's in the crowd during his performance openly cheering for him. During the times he needs support the most, she's there for him.
It seem like Tiffany's drawing gave Howard the confidence and inspiration he needed to pen a new song so it's just a matter of whether he actually will be able to finish it in time for the showcase
