Chapter 30

Back at school Tiffany is waiting for Laurence so they can watch a movie when Howard texts her. It's not Laurence who greets her first, though, it's kengsington. He suggest that they go out to eat and Tiffany brushes him off but when Laurence arrives she suggests they eat first and kengsington decides they should all go out together.
While at the restaurant he tells them to order whatever they want and kengsington begins to compliment Tiffany but she's utterly confused. It looks like he has something up his sleeve, though. So when Tiffany decides she has to go to the bathroom kengsington insists that he accompany her and he's waiting outside of the bathroom when she comes out hoping to discuss something.
Tiffany doesn't want to discuss anything with him and tries to walk past but that's when kengsington calls her Jessica. He knows all about her original self and shows her the magazine that explains it all. That's not really what he's concerned about, he just wants her to stay away from Howard. He begins to threaten her with Howard finding out about her past including the press and Howard's fans thereby ruining his reputation even when his new album is coming out. Kensington says that Howard doesn't deserve love but Tiffany wants to know why he's really doing it. He just says she doesn't understand and places Howard's career in her hands.
Howard attempts to text Tiffany but gets no response and is bored in his hotel room. Tiffany on the other hand rejects Howard's calls playing them off as a prank calls. Jeff ends up calling Laurence but lies that she's fallen asleep. Laurence wonders what happened between them and Tiffany passes it off as them having a small fight and tells her not to worry.
As soon as he's back Howard insists that Daniel take him back to the school and when Tiffany and Laurence arrive at the dorm that night Howard was waiting there for them. Laurence gives them some alone time and Tiffany goes to greet him. She wonders why he didn't go home and rest if he came right from the airport and he says that it's because he missed her.
They make their way over to another part of the school where they can sit down and talk. Howard is curious why Tiffany has been avoiding him and she brings up his past confession saying she's thought about it and that she thinks it's better for them to stay as normal classmates and friends. the hope that he had and the disappointment all over his face.
Howard asks is she's sure that she doesn't like him at all and while holding back her tears she says that she doesn't like him at all. In a rush, and trying to keep it together, he says that he forgot he has some work to do back at the office and leaves. It's only when he's gone that Tiffany lets the tears flow.
It's a new day and Jeff approaches Tiffany to tell her that Howard is in trouble showing an article claiming that Howard plagiarized a song. Supposedly the video on the internet was uploaded sooner than when Howard's album was released so people are suspecting that he was the one who copied. Tiffany watches the video and it's that trainee from before. She immediately looks for Howard and takes off from the classroom.
Her freind Laurence wasnt happy about what she told Howard because she overhead them. She ask Tiffany....."Why Tiffany why? Why did you have to go and break not only Howard's heart but your own. That would've been the perfect time to say that you were not actually who you said you were and that you might not be able to accept you but Jessica could. I honestly feel like there have been plenty of opportunities where you could've just openly told the truth to Howard about yourself but you didn't know that they were perfect opportunities or just chose not to take them.
One of their room mate at the dorm ivy also gave in her own advice because she knew everything from Tiffany but Tiffany told them to keep it a secret. Ivy said.... "I do think that the confession could've been one of those moments. You could've said that there was something you needed to tell him before you went any further. Or even before that, you could've probably said something when Howard came to visit you. Instead of having your grandfather create essentially a small village for you, you could've told him the truth about where you lives. Sure he would've been angry, as any normal person, but I'm sure he would've understood if you at least explained it.
Tiffany Told her friend's that she need to be alone and she needs time to think. Now she mentioned to her grandfather about wanting to tell him the truth, she wants to save Howard's career and reputation but now that she learns he's under a plagiarism scandal, his reputation has been destroyed anyway. So it really didn't matter what she chose, either way kengsington was going to make Howard pay somehow.
At this moment Tiffany wants to come clean and hopefully be there for Howard as he faces this new scandal. She wonders what is changing her mind. Her main problem is that she wants to stay away from him and protect him from kengsington. Ahe wonders why kengsington is still keeping the grudge against Howard, and not letting go of the past and face the future. He cannot amend what is already been done but he can correct what he's on in the feature. She was clearly worried for Howard at the end, even going to look for him, so hopefully even though she said that they should just remain friends, she'll be there for him and maybe end up changing her mind. She thinks about him she wish everything is okay, may be if she had told him the truth in the first place it won't have gone to this length.
