Chapter 44
All is going smoothly as Tiffany and Howard are finally able to deal with the obstacles they've just been on. But while another small problem is brewing, it doesn't seem to be too much of a problem for them.
At the new empty church, kengsington accompanies Bernice parents home while Andrew, Jeff, susanne, and Bernice are in the church. Bernice begins to desperately search for a knife recalling susanne's words that took her that Howard would stay by her side if she hurt herself. Andrew and Jeff try to restrain her from doing anything stupid and susanne finally admits the truth that Howard isn't going to be coming back. She ends up yelling at her to knock it off but Bernice begs that she help her but she knows the truth that it doesn't matter what she does, Howard just isn't coming back.
Andrew angrily turns to Jeff asking him to remove the crazy woman, susanne. She feels insulted but Andrew stands up and calls her names. When she tries to defend herself and reason that she was only trying to help Bernice, Andrew points out the situation that they're currently in telling susanne that it was all her fault and doing. Susanne begins to put the blame on Tiffany but andrew knows better than that and says that she should be the one responsible because if she didn't plot it then none of it would've happened.
Jeff breaks up their fight and takes susanne out with him so they can talk in the hallway. He's clearly not happy with her and also asks her if she was going too far. She attempts to reason that you have to fight for what you want but Jeff points out that that's not the case when someone's life is at risk. He points out the fact that Howard not liking Bernice, asking how she could help her. Susanne can only express her disappointment in all of them.
Bernice feels like there's no one else to help her but Andrew says that he will. He sits by her side as he tells her that she has to let go of her past and start a new life. He points out that in a while she won't even think about Howard anymore and meet a better man, hoping that she won't cry or hurt herself for a man who doesn't love her back. Bernice still hung up on Howard, and thinks she's not worthy of love. Andrew suggests that they make a bet and says that they can look for the man Bernice is destined to be with together.
Still running Tiffany and Howard hop on a bus. Tiffany wants to take him to the airport so she can hide him at her house but he says he can't go. It's not for the reasons she thinks, he just doesn't have his ID so he can't get on the plane. He repeats his promise of never letting her go and the bus bursts into a round of applause for them.
They spend an enjoyable time on the bus but wonder where they should go. Howard suggests that they just keep riding the bus and they should just go nowhere and compares it to how he just rides the bus and looks out the window when he has no inspiration and by looking at the scenery, things just come to him sometimes. Tiffany begins drawing on the bus, for her book full of Howard's inspiration quotes, as he looks over her shoulder.
The fangirls from the café are cheering to their success in helping Tiffany with her plan and think about her together with Howard when it finally sets in that Howard has a girlfriend. However, they aren't upset because they support them thinking that Jordan will be able to take Howard's relationship to the next level.
Kengsington and Laurence are coming back from a movie date. They have a casual conversation with each other about the movie when he notices that Laurence's shoe is untied so he bends down to help her with it. The moment is ruined by a gust of wind and Laurence's skirt lifting up in front of his face. He claims he didn't see anything but she calls him a pervert anyway and runs away. He catches up to her to assure her he really didn't see anything and peace has seemingly been restored.
Tiffany and Howard are meeting with both Anna and Daniel. Daniel asks that they tell him before they make trouble for him and the two sit there politely. Tiffany apologizes telling her they'll tell him next time and Daniel points out that there shouldn't be but is thankful that the fans have accepted the two of them. But there's just one more thing they have to tell him. Tiffany is
Jessica.
Daniel can't believe his eyes and is shocked to hear it. Howard wonders if it'd be a problem if his fans found out that Tiffany is Jessica and Daniel figures they shouldn't hide it so he'll work on a press statement regarding it.
Laurence walks into the lobby of the library when Bernice lackeys see her and begin to poke at her relationship with kengsington. They bring up the fact that Laurence is on a scholarship and point out that she'll be wealthy through dating kengsington.
Hearing everything, kengsington nudges them out of the way and tells her to come with him. The girls demand he apologize Laurence does for him. They're not happy with that, wondering why she does that, but kengsington backs her up saying that she has the right to apologize for him but they don't have the right to accept. He gets in an insult saying that he's sure they would get expelled before Laurence ever got kicked out of the school. He begins to explain to them his recent obsession of raising scorpions and promises to give them as a gift if they don't leave Laurence alone and that enough scares them away.
