Chapter 25
Tiffany is taking Howard to visit kengsington and Laurence in the hospital room where he insists on apologizing to her despite kengsington being there as well. Laurence m greets him warmly while kengsington tries to avoid eye contact. Laurence forgives him, knowing that it wasn't his fault, and Howard tries to slightly make up with kengsington as he gives him some food, but he refuses to eat.
Later, kengsington announces he has to go to the bathroom and tells Tiffany to go along with him. Howard stands up and defends Tiffany and when she suggests, he takes him himself. The entire trip is silent but Howard does help kengsington back to the room as he's limping.
When everyone leaves from the room, kengsington tells Laurence she didn't have to save him and she brushes it off saying that she's not going to blackmail him. That's what exactly what he wants to say, though, but he does tell her that they're from different worlds so they should probably stay apart from each other.
Out in the hallway Daniel informs Howard that he has gotten an ocean commercial. He insists he's alright, despite it being about the water, and leaves Tiffany at the hospital. Before he goes, though, he heads back and pins her against the wall warning her to be careful of kengsington. Tiffany wonders if it's because she's important to him and Howard gets slightly embarrassed, diverting the subject to her unwashed hair. She changes the subject back to what they were talking about and reassures Howard that she knows boxing so she can definitely beat kengsington.
When Howard arrives at the office there's a guy with a box who stares at him for a long moment but he doesn't take notice. When he arrives outside of the room, he hears Daniel trying to explain his situation of his fear of water but it's not going well. Representative Oliver doesn't like to hear that since it's a commercial about water. She brings up that Howard is disobedient nowadays, refusing to do this and that, and wonders if they should invest their money elsewhere even mentioning a trainee that complained about them using all of their resources towards him. Unable to hear it anymore Howard enters the room and agrees to the ocean commercial.
That night Howard is in his bathroom with a tub full of water and attempts to submerge his head but he opens his eyes in the water and memories of the accident flood to his mind.
Tiffany enters his room, after having waited an hour for him, and tells the maid she'll just sit and wait for him there, since she said he was taking a shower. Not hearing a sound from the bathroom she runs in to find him sitting by the sink with a wet head. She immediately rushes over and begins to dry him. He manages to joke with her wondering why she came in if she knew he was taking a shower, asking if she was trying to take a peek.
He does admit that he was thinking that he could possibly overcome his fear of water. Tiffany tells him that it won't happen by submerging his head into water. Howard doesn't understand how she figured out but she tells him that only his head is wet.
But it's back to the main point of why she came. Tiffany says that it's to ask him about the commercial and she wanted to thank him about the whole situation regarding her parents and wanted to repay the favor. Howard answers her questions and Tiffany uses that as her opening, despite Howard thinking she couldn't be of any help. She sees that as a challenge but thinks that a week to get him to overcome his fear is too short.
The two begin to have a towel fight but in the process Tiffany almost breaks Howard's new toy, a small speaker. When she asks what it is he takes her to the dining room to show her.
He immediately sits her down in a chair and announces it as Your Highness's concert, standing on the table with a broom as he begins to sing her favorite song of the series, Star.
When he's done singing, he comments on the lack of lights but that doesn't bother them. Tiffany tells him that when he's on stage he exudes a special vibe showing how devoted and passionate he is, seeming like a different person. She wonders how that happens and Howard says that it's like he's entered a different world where only music exists, forgetting about everything else.
Tiffany joins him on the table and says that they'll work hard for the next week, her helping him curing his fear of deep water. She extends her pinky so they can promise on it and he takes it, agreeing.
The next morning the two wake up early to begin their conquering of Howard's fear of water. They first meet at the movie theater where they see Finding Dory. Even though it's only imaginary, Howard freaks out.
Afterwards they head over to shopping center where Tiffany wants to head somewhere. Howard brings her back and wonders why whenever he thinks she's a little cute she does things to make him dislike her. Tiffany brings up the promise they made the previous night where he promised to listen to her every single day but he argues that he's being pranked. She assures him that he's not being pranked, she actually has a plan for him comparing it to a storm. He doesn't really like the sound of that.
That doesn't stop Tiffany as she grabs his hand and brings him to the center of the main circle. They stand there in the empty space where she does a countdown and the fountain comes on, surrounding them with water. She stars jumping around and Howard, after getting his senses back from the initial shock, finds himself having fun with her. It's just too cute. They're also wearing like couple outfits.
There is a pool next to the place where Howard works on attempting to actually get in the pool and Tiffany is equipped with a huge air hammer. It's cute that the prize for Howard walking to his goal in the pool is a high five from Tiffany.
It's already the last day and Tiffany is there to specially wake Howard up, but he denies it. Resorting to no other choice, Tiffany gets on top of him and when the maid comes in, their position gets mistaken as them doing something else. In slight anger, Howard changes positions so that he's on top as he fights with Tiffany which causes another misunderstanding. After getting off of one another he finally asks where they're going but Tiffany keeps it a secret. She does let him know that she needs his small speaker.
With Howard blindfolded, they arrive at the destination where he says that he feels at peace at the place. Tiffany takes off the blindfold but keeps Howard's eyes closed until she starts the music, when he's finally able to open his eyes. He saw the sight of the ocean in front of him, He panics a bit but Tiffany tells him to close his eyes and introduces him as though he were at a concert and assures him that anywhere can be his stage as long as there's music.
So, with a deep breath, Howard begins to sing as he slowly begins to step closer to Tiffany, who steps closer to the waves. Soon, he's standing in the beginnings of the ocean with Tiffany encouraging him every step of the way.
Eventually a strong wave comes and knocks Tiffany over and on instinct, Howard jumps into the water to try to rescue her. He manages to help get her to shore and passes out.
He wakes up in the hospital asking for Tiffany when Bernice is the one holding his hand. Andrew tries to brush it off but when but when daniel in, Howard immediately asks about Tiffany. Daniel says he only suffered from physical distress but Howard is only concerned about Tiffany. Daniel explains that she watched over him all night but had to leave in the morning due to an emergency. In a text Tiffany explains that her grandfather fell ill so she had to head back home.
Howard doesn't care that he's in the hospital, he only wants to go see Tiffany but gets stopped by Andrew and Daniel. On the other side, Bernice wipes away her tears. Howard apologizes but she gathers her things and leaves. It takes a little, but andrew rushes out after her.
