Stand By Me

Randi:

“Actually, it’s “all hands-on deck” today, except for my new daughter. She needs to rest for her big “debut” later tonight. I’m sure she’s nervous to be playing for the extended family.” Izzy hummed behind her steaming mug of black richness as Desmond tilted a questioning expression towards the “boys”, smiling evilly as their gazes dropped to the dark walnut island.

“You “boys” work fast.” Desmond laughed darkly with a chesty echo as the “boys” about bugged-out with large eyes.

Maxi gasped out in laughter as Rex tried to suppress his laughter behind his mug but failed as tears trickled from those gorgeous gray orbs, grabbing his hand to head towards the guest room on the other side of the house.

“Not “so” fast Casanova.” Izzy grabbed my arm, halting my approach to the guest room as Rex grabbed our duffels, disappearing down the guest hallway.

“You had your “morning glory”, so no hanky-panky until later tonight. Got that? Now, go find your boxers and head to the airport.” Izzy pointed with a lazy finger as the guys erupted into laughter, pointing to the hard-on that was noticeable even to the blind eye.

Groaning out with a pouty face as she pointed to “go” before she unleased her “beast”, which scared us all. Sulking towards the back living room, smelling the lingering fragrance of our morning. Shifting through the cushions with no luck, looking around trying to think where they disappeared too.

“Looking for these?” Turning around to Rex holding my black briefs from his finger with a devilish smirk of amusement.

“You “Devil”.” Hissing playfully, swiping the briefs from his lazy pose, pulling him into a heated embrace as our bodies melted into a fiery rush of static charges.
Pulling apart with soft purring grunts, feeling the untamed monster pushing into his thigh as his eyes glowed to life with that predatory glow.

“I wish we could “play”, but the “Queen” has set forth her orders.” Laughing haughtily at his smug smirk, licking along his earlobe as his body erupted into a fiery ball of rushing heat, consuming the air around as a sharp, sheering euphoria roared through my body. Clenching tightly to his trembling frame, tasting the metallic iron along my tongue as his strong arms held me tightly to his chest as his sweltering tongue licked across the tender flesh.

“What did you do?” Hissing out in a foggy haze as his arms loosened around my waist, looking at me with those hypnotizing gray orbs as my palm cracked loudly across his cheek. Back stepping in disbelief, he just “marked” me, after I explained to him about my last “mate” being Desmond’s brother, and twin, Helmer.

“Randi, it’s been a century since his death. You deserve happiness, not this “playboy” façade you have worn for so long.” Rex pleaded with me as his gray orbs swirled with sadness that I was rejecting him, but this was my choice not his to make.

“No! Don’t you dare speak about what I should do and shouldn’t do, you can’t even face your own father, The Sultan.” Turning sharply as Rex chased after me, passing the kitchen with confused expressions as E appeared from the hallway, tossed and glowing as her eyes held a certain pain only, she seemed to understand.

“Randi!” Rex called after me, opening the large hickory door pressing the auto-start to the Mini, quickly locking myself inside ignoring the taping palm against the glass as the tires squealed against the cobblestone. Glancing back at the pained expression laced across that well-defined middle-eastern face, feeling my heart break with the surging emotions that swirled heavily between our links.

Pulling out onto the quiet roadway as the hands-free beeped annoyingly through the small enclosure, looking at the call screen to see “E” calling me. Hot, salty tears fell down my cheeks, wiping them away with a shaky hand as the beeping continued with the same ignored attempt to get me to respond.

“Sorry Girly.” Shutting down my phone to think clearly, ignoring the pull in link, knowing Rex was trying to connect to me.

Damn it! Slamming my fists into the steering wheel, swerving to miss the wanker that decided to cross over the line into my lane, avoiding a head-on collision with the gun metal Mercedes SUV that spun around to follow me.

“Oh, so you want to play.” Dropping the gear with a swift hand and clutch, listening to the B48 hum to life as it glided through the congested traffic that clustered together a few miles out from the airport. Remembering Izzy needed me to pick-up the family that was flying in for the party, glancing back quickly to see the same SUV hot on my tail.

Yanking the E-Brake to make the sharp left down a sideroad, honking to the few pedestrians that attempted to crossover, jumping back with panicked faces as the mini sped past them in a blur, jamming the brakes missing the red flashing hazards of the emergency vehicle loading up an injured motorist that smashed into another car at the intersection.

Looking back to see the SUV skid to a stop, while the driver jumped out dressed in all black like he was supposed to be riding a motorcycle but instead took the easy route. Groaning out in annoyance as he tapped my window, indicating he wanted me to roll down the dark tinted glass.

He ambered eyes reminded me of someone, but my brain function was fried to recollect any thought as the window slid down smoothly, revealing his tall, muscular frame and dark locks that hung loosely against his forehead as he placed his hand on the roof jam, leaning in to smell his Giorgio cologne and slight familiarity of bear.

“Sorry man. I don’t have time to fight you.” Looking at him sideways as his ambered eyes swirled with a coldness that struck me as odd, and then my brain clicked.

Shit! Shit! Shit!

“Relax, Randi. I just want you to relay a message.” He cold, timbered voice sent a rush of static through my bones as his white teeth gleamed sinisterly against the soft morning rays.

“What might that be?” Giving my own cold attitude, knowing this idiot wouldn’t be that stupid to do anything, while the street swarmed with police and emergency crews working the already existing accident.

Turning my gaze towards the barrel of a Glock 17 TB with a silencer as the muzzle flash masked the piercing round that sliced through my neck, gasping against the burning flesh as his black cladded frame disappeared from the driver side. Stumbling with the door handle, dropping to the ground as the warm pavement painted brightly in deep crimson.

“r-rex.” Ignoring the shooting pain that rocketed through my body, clinging to the small hope that he would hear me in our weak connection.

“Randi, I’m so sorry.” Rex’s normal smooth timbered voice, cracked with pain as the world began to swirl into a faded blur of colors. Gripping my neck, feeling the blood seep through my fingers rolling over to my side, staring at the mocking blue sky as tears slipped past my eyes, hearing Stand by Me-Mona playing from the car speakers that squealed to a stop.

Dolce & Gabbana-The One swirled heavily from the heavens as trembling arms wrapped my in a tight embrace. Groaning out in pain as hot, stinging tears rolled from my eyes looking into the largest gray orbs that could consume me into nothingness and still bring me peace in a such a turbulent chaos.

“R-rex.” Reaching up to his paled face, sucking in a sharp breath as blood gurgled from my lungs in an agonizing coughing exhale.

“Shh-shh…Don’t speak.” His voice cracked heavily as emergency crews rushed in, pulling me from his warmth as the world faded away slowly.

Holding my hand out to him, pleading for him to hold me again as the EMT’s worked on stopping the bleeding, and administering IV fluids to stabilize me enough to transport.

“r-rex.” Whispering out against the foggy haze as he rushed to my side, lacing our fingers together as he leaned forward against the protests of the EMT’s.

“b-b-Bain.” Gasping loudly as everything went black, drifting away into the strange darkness that awaited me.

“RANDI!” The haunting echo of his husky, Mediterranean accent led me further into the darkness.

I’m sorry.
