“THIS IS RIDICULOUS!”
Elicia:
“Amelia Whitetail. Pack Doctor of the Demon Wolf Clan and these idiots aunt, no-blood relation but their family.” Her smile snapped into a sharp frown as the guys halted their quick head shakes, staring at me like I was going to break.
“What are you so worried about? I just saw two men shift into bears, somehow managed to appear inside my shower after a majestic voice told me, “it was time to RISE”. Then just now, seriously.” Motioning with my hand towards the bedroom, sighing in annoyance as my hand clapped loudly against my thigh as Amelia walked with me into the kitchen.
“My Little E has grown up so much.” Randi sniffled mockingly from the living room as the guys groaned and snarled at his playfulness.
Breathing in the freshness of the cool refrigerator air, shifting around the various containers and jugs of liquid as my eyes zeroed in on the jar of dill pickles, pepperoni slices and a block of sharp cheddar, grabbing them quickly with a swift foot closing the door. Setting everything out on the butcher-block island, turning around to the pantry closet grabbing the Town House crackers and a cheese knife from the knife rack as the guys stood dumbfounded with tilted smirks.
“We can cook you know?” Roger chuckled softly as they slid out the bar stools, sitting with amused expressions as Randi and Rex prepared fresh coffee with soft laughter.
Grabbing a cutting board, while Amelia started to drain the pickle juice.
“Wait! Don’t drain it, here, pour it in this. I love pickle juice and it’s great from UTI’s.” Sliding over a strainer and glass mason jar to a flabbergasted Amelia as she nodded to my request, pouring the juice into the jar with a sly smirk.
Smelling the robust fragrance of the French roast, bubbling from the coffee pot.
“You have a UTI?” She asked in a doctor’s tone, sliding the jar back over to me with a smile as my lips tasted the cool, salty-vinegar roll over my tongue as the guys stared at me in shock.
“I took a couple cranberry pills already, but I kind of figured it was going to happen after my extended stay this past week.” Slicing the cheese with a skilled hand as the growling snarls, echoed around the smooth-plastered room.
“Well, that’s why I’m here. Izzy and Desmond asked if I would fly over, filling me in quickly of the situation. Mei, JR, and Max send their “Well Wishes” and my grandbabies all said “Hi”. Especially my little mini me, Lea. She talked non-stop about the “pretty girl” the boys had staying with them.” Giggling at her rambling as the guys coughed awkwardly into their fists, eyeing her with pointed looks of “shut up”.
“Wait, I thought their last name was Rockwell?” Side-glancing her smiling face, shoving a cracker sandwich in my mouth, humming in delight as the salty-buttered cracker mixed with the meaty pepperoni and sharp cheddar.
“Yes, Mei and JR are Rockwell’s. Nikola and Micah are their oldest twin boys, also, Max Silvermoon is mated to Mei, and they have Akai Silvermoon-Rockwell. Lea is my former sons daughter, Seth Whitetail, who was also Mei’s mate. Akai and Lea are the second set of twins.” Her voice cracked softly as she spoke about her deceased son, side hugging her with a soft smile.
“So, I guess having more one than is normal?” Pointing with the knife flipped out, motioning between the four muscular hunks staring at me in an intoxicating hunger.
“Oh yeah!” Her chuckling laughter filled me with a giddy excitement as Randi and Rex set down mugs of steaming richness, wiggling my fingers in excitement as Amelia halted my reach for the caffeinated liquid.
“First, let’s make sure your healthy. Boys, will you finish this up for her, while I go check her out?” She pointed to my snack station that was developing slowly in between conversation. Kissing their cheeks quickly as my fingers brushed gently along their flexing muscles, receiving a few pouty grunts as Amelia followed me into the hallway.
“I promise I don’t bite.” She chuckled softly with a snap of her jaw, closing the door as we weaved through the cluttered campsite of my bedroom, staring at the shattered mirror shards and busted door to my bathroom.
“Well, now I see what you meant earlier.” She laughed brightly, grabbing my hand with a firm squeeze as we slipped into Elias’ room, realizing I never have been inside the brothers rooms, besides Ben’s when…. stopping mid-step as images flashed quickly of that night with all four of them.
“Elicia, you okay? You’re awfully flushed.” Amelia looked at me with a perked brow, waving my hand in embarrassment as the aching throbbed between my thighs with a whimpering sigh.
“You stay right here for a sec.” She pointed to the bathroom, watching her slip out the bathroom quickly with a snarling grunt as her fiery locks glistened angrily against the early-noon sun.
“BOYS!!! Please tell me you used protection!” Her thundering voice echoed down the hallway past the cracked door, giggling at her temperament as her words sucked the air from my lungs. Trembling wildly as my shaky eyes looked up into the mirror at my blazing blue-hazels, swallowing the bile that crept up my throat with a burning gag.
Wait! I have an IUD implanted.
Darting back out the room.
“Amelia! It’s okay. I have an IUD.” Shouting enough as she rounded the corner with a snarling curse, tossing a pillow at someone as she motioned me back into the room.
“Just to be on the safe side.” She handed me a pregnancy test with a firm shift of my shocked body as she nudged me into the bathroom. Looking at her confused and scared as she closed the door, allowing me some privacy as my brain froze and auto-pilot kicked in. Cursing the burning pain as the little stick absorbed enough liquid, placing the cap over the exposed end.
“THIS IS RIDICULOUS!” Shouting out in disbelief as the door opened with a smirking Amelia dressed in a emerald, green blouse and jean leggings tucked into a cute pair of camel brown riding boots that stopped just below her knees.
“Nothing is ridiculous in this family. We’re supernatural creatures with supernatural abilities, and some crazy-ass-shit can happen. Trust me, I know!” Her erratic pacing had me covering my mouth to suppress the laughter that threatened to squeak out as she grabbed her stethoscope, listening to my vitals, checking my pulse as she glanced down to the stick on the counter.
“Did they…Oh God! Déjà vu.” She snarled out as she lifted me up to my feet, removing the shirt as her gasping exhale startled me. Hissing out as she delicately examined the massive bruise along my waist and hip, trailing her fingers along the tender flesh of the healing whip marks.
“What do you mean déjà vu?” Looking over my shoulder as she leaned over to look at the whipping scar inflicted by Dani, flinching back as her fingertips angered the flesh under my armpit.
“Mei came to us with a violent past. Riddled with scars that BASTARD Titan inflicted on her, turning her into an emotionless fighter.” Turning sharply as she pulled back with a shocked expression, clenching my hands tightly to my chest as my heart hammered aggressively against my chest.
“Titan?” Speaking his name in fright as my eyes darted along the black and gray tiled floor, remembering the man in the wheelchair and the way Bain listened to his instruction on how to break me during my torture treatments.
“Nothing to Fear, sweety. Mei castrated him and fed his junk to the dogs. He’s dead now.” She chuckled softly, motioning for me to turn back around but my shaking head told her otherwise as her jaded eyes flashed a bright hue of silvery green.
“He’s not dead. He was one of my captors. Bain’s uncle.” Rapidly snapping my words out in dread as her shocked face turned dark and sinister, roaring out as rushed foot falls squeaked and skidded to a stop as the guys tumbled through the bedroom door in a slurry of mumbling grunts.
Grabbing the gray towel, wrapping it around my body as they found their footing with panting chests and flustered expressions.
“What’s wrong?” “Is she okay?”
“THAT BASTARD WILL DIE!!!”
