Breathe

Elicia:

“Fuck you too.” Laughing lowly as their eyes blazed a weird hue of fiery amber, smacking its snout again, but with more palm as it cracked loudly against the barred walls and stone surroundings. Pushing up from the barred wall, pressing into the metal barrier as he lowered his head, scratching at the dirt flooring like he was fixing to attack me.

Naturally, shifting my body so that my dominant side was away from his frontal attack to counter with my dominant strike to back him off and engaged in my next attack. Motioning with my fingers in a mocking gesture as he barreled straight at me, shifting my leg back enough to smack his head down, swinging my dominant-right out and up into the fleshy patch under his jowl.

“Patrick!” Dani gasped as she leaned into the barred wall with white knuckles, spinning back around, slamming my elbow down into his nose, smiling against the satisfying crunch of his nasal cavity and the whimpering snarl as he backed-off in the opposite direction. Stepping back as his body snapped and contorted back into the dirty blonde Hulk, panting, naked as a “Jay Bird”, cussing up a storm in Russian as he cracked his nose back into place.

“You said she was a fucking human.” He stalked to the barred wall, swinging through the gap with a snarling growl as Dani looked at Bain in confusion. Bain’s blazing amber orbs shimmered and swirled with a hidden malice as his father and uncle nodded in a silent agreement.

“Seems to me, that our Little Orphan has some secrets. Do share with the class?” Bain motioned with his hand in a mocking tone like he was my fucking Teacher waiting for me to show-and-tell, when I didn’t know what the FUCK he was talking about.

“There’s nothing to share. I have no fucking clue what you are talking about.” Snipping back with my own mocking tone, flinching back in surprise as his palm slammed into the barred wall, humming in an erratic ping as the stone ceiling sputtered debris across the dirt floor.

“DON’T FUCKING PLAY WITH ME! Babe.” Classic Bain shouting out in anger before smoothing it out into a cool timbered tone, mocking my intelligence thinking he could sweet talk me.

“Bain?” Mocking his name like a bratty teenager, but on alert as his body stiffened at my backtalk, slamming his palm again as his feet shuffled heavily to the gate.
Back stepping, taking position to deflect his attack and hopefully land a blow myself.

That would be fucking awesome!

“You dare sass me!” He growled out as the same cracking, sounded from the ceiling and walls as his body shifted quickly into a sandy red bear, rearing back to his hind legs in the classic roaring bear pose.

“KILL HER!” Titan roared from his seat, gripping the armrests with white knuckles and a bright sinister smirk laced darkly across his thin lips. Feeling the panic sink into my toes as he slammed his razor-sharp claws into the ground, scooping up dirty chunks of ground leaving four deep lacerations decorating the bare floor.

“Elicia.” A majestic voice called out to me as everything froze in place. Swatting away the dust particles that drifted through the frozen air as my eyes drifted around the room, frozen in a chaotic snap-shot of snarling smirks and a roaring bear fixing to maul me to death.

“It’s time to Rise my child.” Her voice spoke out like a wispy breeze as fiery static swirled wildly along my exposed flesh, snapping me back to reality as the dust blew away from my body. Snapping my hands back in a rapid flash of white, standing inside my dark shower as the moonlight danced softly over the rolling pastures of the villa.

I’m home.

Turning the shower on as the billowing heat, rolled out from the glass enclosure, embracing the streaming hotness as it coated and massaged my flesh with a sighing exhale. Stripping away the matted chunks of material with sloppy flops against the stone tile, grabbing my mountain fresh body scrub and razor, because let’s face it, I’m a walking yeti.

“Hey Alexa, play Breathe by Fleurie.” Exhaling through the streaming water, submerging my face under the hot, massaging embrace.

“Play Breathe by Fleurie.” Her mechanical voice responded as the calming piano chords played out and her soothing voice racked my body in a strange euphoria.
Gasping out as the suppressed urge to cry finally shattered, sliding down the glass as the hot water rolled over my moonlit flesh, sucking in the steamy air as my lungs quaked with gasping sobs.

Breathe. Breathe. Damn it, BREATHE! Slamming my fists against the stone tiling as the hot, stinging tears mixed with the rushing water, curling back into the corner as the moonlight danced somberly along the water splattered flooring, highlighting the rolling wisps of steam escaping over the glass walls.

Hunched over in agonizing sobs, soft footfalls approached my door and the gentle fragrance of White Diamonds surrounded me as gentle arms wrapped around my trembling body.

“Shush my child. Mama Eve has you.” Her tender voice pulled me into her embrace as the strange scent of wet dog drifted past my nose, looking through blurry eyes as Maxine stood with a robe leaving the lights off.

Silently thanking her because the throbbing jackhammer slammed and danced along my skull, whimpering against the sudden aching that rolled through my bones.

“Let’s get you in bed.” Mama Eve spoke softly, gesturing with her hand to stand up on my wobbly legs as Maxine swooped the cuddly robe around my aching body. Leaning into her embrace as a gentle fresh linen scent, mixed with the wet dog as they guided me into the gentle fragrance of Christmas cottage.

“I’ll go call the boys.” Mama Eve spoke softly as Maxine helped me into the cozy plush bed, halting my embrace of the cloud-like mattress.

“No! please stay. Both of you.” Reaching for her petite frame as she nodded to my request, climbing into bed with her royal blue silk pajamas shimmering gently against the soft moonlight seeping through the gray sheers.

Nuzzling down into the heavy black and silver duvet, rubbing my fingers along the smooth velvet as Maxine slipped under the blankets, hugging me with gentle gray eyes resting below my chin. Mama Eve shifted, so that her slender fingers could scrap gently along my tender scalp like LC would do when I needed comforting, and this was beyond needing comforted, but I would take whatever I could get.

“Mama Eve?” Asking softly against her tantalizing fingers, feeling my aching body slowly relax into a gentle embrace, but my mind was spinning out of control with unanswered questions and anxiety of what was really happening to me.

“Yes child?” Her voice brushed lightly along my cooling damp locks as her soft lips pressed to my numb forehead.

“Why me?” Sniffling softly as the salty tears stung gently against my eyes, nuzzling into her arm as she scooped me into her soft chest.

“I don’t know sweet child, but the boys and the family will figure that out. You get some sleep.” Her calming tone soothed some of the tears back, but a few traitorous droplets leaked onto her silk top, leaving behind darkened circles against the shimmering material.

“I don’t deserve them.” Choking back the sobs that threatened to rupture the last barrier barely holding together behind my eyelids.

“Shush child. Everyone deserves someone in life, you just happen to have four brothers and an army for a family to support you and help.” Her soft chuckle cracked that final barrier, clenching to her silky top burying my face into her chest as her hands cupped my head gently.

“I-Is it t-true?” Remembering what Dani and Bain taunted about the guys being trained fighters with an insatiable thirst for pain and pleasure. What does that even mean?

“About what?” Her voice was calm and unsure about what I was asking.

“Nothing. I’ll talk to the guys about it.” Deciding this was something I needed to ask in person, so I could watch their body language and eyes. They always said “eyes spoke louder than words” so this was something that I had to sit on until then.

“Are you scared to ask?” Her question halted my descent into sleep as the thought occurred to me but didn’t match my current mental state.

“Not so much scared, more like curious.” Her soft chuckle helped ease the last tension in my muscles, yawning out like a lioness.

“Well, curiosity is definitely up the boys alleyway.” Giggling at her comment, because it was true. The brothers may be scary with all those tattoos and muscles, but they’re like little kids in those muscular bodies, just living life to its fullest.

I don’t want to be afraid of Bain and his fucked-up family, but something has to be done and what about Thyra… Oh God! Thyra. She’s all alone at that place, stuck in the form of a rat. I’ll figure out a way to help her.

Snuggling into Mama Eve’s embrace as the final layer of consciousness faded away and exhaustion took over.
