Miss Atlas
Randi:
“I’M SO HUNGRY!” Her screeching snarl had us all back stepping as Amelia rushed over, shoving a donor bag in her mouth as her lips sucked along the plastic bladder like a snake plunging it’s fangs into its prey.
“Easy girlie. We’ll feed your hunger.” Leaning forward with a playful smirk as her swirling crimsons locked onto me with a snarling smirk.
“She’s unstable. We need to lock her up in the ‘blood room’.” Izzy rushed over handing another bag to Amelia as the empty bag dropped to the ground with a soft clank of plastic.
“We can fed her safely under constant supervision down there.” Desmond and Dominic quickly ‘poofed’ away with Izzy as Amelia picked up the phone, listening to Rex cursing under his breath in the background.
“How are you doing Rexy?” Studying Amelia and Atlas’ perked expressions as LC wiped away a few stray tears that trickled down her cheeks. The woman was tough as nails with all the emotional stress she experienced within a short time span. Plucking a few tissues, hanging them over with a soft wink.
Smiling at the mouthed ‘Thank you’.
“Fucking Grand. How long should it take?” His hissing growl had us laughing as his father spoke softly in the background.
“I know ‘Dad’! She’s very special indeed.” Rex’s tone snipped the words.
“Everything okay?” Amelia smiled at the phone, side glancing me with a tilted smirk.
“Fine. Just the proud soon-to-be great-grandpa whining.” Grinning at his award-winning attitude.
“Grandpa? Rex, you and Randi never said anything about adopting.” Atlas’ vibrant honey-yellowed eyes peered at me with a tilted smirk as LC smiled over her shoulder to Amelia’s amused expression.
“Oh, that’s right. You and Hunky Boy were tangled up in the archives during our conversation earlier, before the Tasmanian Devil unleased her fury on us.” Leaning against the sofa, crossing my ankles with a playful flip on my invisible locks.
“Rex, should I be concerned with the evil smile painted on his face?” Atlas laughed into the phone, looking between Amelia and LC’s grinning laughs.
“He’s harmless.” Rex laughed out as incoherent groaning echoed through the speaker.
“Elicia’s mother, Azqa or Prue was Rex’s older sister. A oracle, a very long and ancient bloodline to be specific. Turns out that her pregnancy scare a few months back wasn’t a false pregnancy after all. She’s indeed pregnant and the vessel for the Goddess Hathor.”
“Prue, as in the witch that poisoned Thyra? That Prue?” Atlas began to pace softly, cupping her chin with her vibrantly detailed hand as her long dark-auburn locks swayed along her back.
“Bingo.” Amelia chuckled softly, leaning against the sofa with a shit eating grin.
“Prue committed suicide to protect her unborn child from evil. What evil that was is still up for interpretation at this moment in time, but between the two Sherlocks here, they discovered her lineage. Her mother was Azqa Kashif, and the father was Thyra’s uncle, Otso, another ancient bloodline.” Kissing Amelia’s cheek playful as Rex chuckled through the phone.
Stunned stupid as Atlas jumped into my unexpecting arms, kissing my cheek with a bright smile.
“Well, okay, Dominic might be in for a surprise but I’m down with it.” Laughing at her glare as she pulled back, slapping my chest as everyone chuckled out in laughter.
“Keep dreaming Randi. But seriously, this just helped me figure out how to reverse Thyra’s rat form. Think about this for a second, you listening Rex?” Atlas glanced down to the commotion erupting through the speaker as Rex shouted to everyone to shut up.
“I am.” He replied quickly as Atlas began to pace slowly, twirling her finger in the air as she dropped her head back, studying the grand coffered ceiling as a small wispy tornado of yellowish mist played from her finger.
“Prue was a powerful witch. A oracle, who happened to be under the control of the DeLois family. Thyra’s husband, mate, whatever you want to refer him as used Prue to kill Thyra, not knowing Prue was pregnant with Thyra’s blood relation. A oracle can only conceive with their mate, no other male, don’t ask me why, I’m not a deity so I can’t explain that part, but it makes sense.” Stunned into silence as the gears ticked away with her words.
“Thyra’s family is known for the ‘Black Bear’, also highly powerful. Max is prime example of that, but he is also wolf so that part still needs researched. If my theory plans out, Prue made Myles think she poisoned Thyra, when in reality she placed a magic enchantment on her to create the rat. Most enchantments last until the witch reverses it, or they die. Thyra never reverted back when Prue took her life, so that means her powers transferred to the child keeping the enchantment active. You following me on this?” Her glimmering honey-yellow orbs peeked from under her thick lashes, looking at Amelia and LC mirroring my own shock.
“Dad, you listening to this?” Rex rasped out in a shocked husk as his father’s husky rasp spoke softly in the background.
“The oracle bloodline evolves each generation. It grows in power with each carrier, passing on the power and knowledge to the next carrier. Suicide is next to impossible for an oracle because of the spiritual power that resides in the carrier, so that means she had to seek out the help of a royal bloodline with strong magical ties.” Tossing my hand up quickly before she continued.
“Bailey mentioned Helmer having a ‘blood seal’ with Elicia, what exactly is that?” Shivering at the creepy smile that lifted those plump lips up as her head swayed up in her continued pacing.
“A ‘blood seal’ only happens when the caster becomes tied to a magical being, because they used their own blood to perform a ritual to bind another’s powers. A ‘blood seal’ also connects the two magical beings, acting like a siphoning link between the two powers. The more powerful being taking control of the link, slowly killing off the other. Bailey also mentioned Helmer experienced a strange episode, sending Bain to Egypt to retrieve Elicia. If I was a betting woman, which I am, Helmer assisted Prue in her suicide and when her powers returned to her dying body, it sealed his blood in an enchanted contract between him and the unborn child. That child just recently began to unlock her powers, and my money is on her being the more powerful one of the ‘blood seal’.” Closing my flopping jaw as her honey-yellow orbs flashed a beautiful hue of yellowish-blue, nodding to our unspoken words.
“She is also the one to reverse Thyra’s enchantment.” LC leaned forward, placing her palms on her knees as her wavy blonde locks drifted over her stunned form.
“Miss Atlas, is there a way to track her spiritual pulse? If we can do that, we can also track this Helmer you speak of. Am I correct?” Malik spoke politely through the speaker, rolling my eyes knowing he was asserting his authority over Rex.
“What would we need for that?” Rex spoke quickly after his father as they whispered back and forth in a cordial manner. Shocked that they were both speaking nicely to one another without shouting or tossing petty jabs.
“We would need a place of great spiritual energy, plus high-ranking coven members to perform the tracking spell in unison. I’m currently bond to the high coven for a stupid mistake, so I can only assist in directing the spell, but Lady Morgan and Lady Clay are cousins, so they can form the spiritual connection to the power source. We would need blood relation to connect to her spiritual link.” Grinning ear-to-ear hearing them shouting our at the same time to ready the private jet and summoning the Desert Coven elders all in one breath.
“Where should we meet?” Rex rasped out quickly as his father’s voice faded away in the background shouting in Arabic about rescuing his granddaughter and great-grandbabies.
“The only place concentrated enough in spiritual power would be N’Orleans, but the closest place to you would be the Temple of Hathor. I saw on the news about a strange white light and certain hieroglyphics glowing on the temple walls throughout the valley. If she’s the vessel for Hathor, your best bet is to connect from there and we can channel the spiritual connection from our side. I would feel better having two separate locations because we don’t know exactly where they took them. Set-up a com’s link so we can communicate at the same time.” Atlas walked over to the desk, dialing someone with a quick wink.
“Randi, be safe and I love you.” Rex spoke softly through the commotion erupting in the background as Amelia handed me the phone. Smiling at her and LC as they walked over to the desk with Atlas.
“You be safe, and I love you too.” Blowing him kisses, smiling at the growling purr that echoed through the speaker.
“We’ll call when we’re ready.” Atlas shout out over her shoulder as she held the receiver to her ear with playful wink.
Laughing at her wiggling brows as Rex hung up with a chesty laugh.
“Alright, Let’s find our Egyptian Goddess and her Phoenix’s.” Smiling evilly as we got down to business.
