Chapter Fifty-nine: Triple dates
We wake up together, at what seems to be late morning. I look up to Lukas, worried he’s missed training. He opens his eyes to look at me, a smile forming on his face.
“Hello beautiful.”
“Hi handsome. Did you sleep well?”
He smirks. “I sure did. You did a number on me.” He laughs which is music to my ears. “How about you?”
I smirk back at him. “I’d like to think so.”
His eyes trail down to my neck which results in him furrowing his brows and placing his hand up to his neck. He leaps off of the bed and heads towards the mirror on the wall to look at his mark.
I push myself up onto my elbow, unsure what his sudden movement was about.
“What’s wrong?” I say, knitting my brows.
“I’ve never seen anything like this.”
I look at him questioningly, but I don’t get a response so I decide to get out of the bed and walk towards the mirror when I see it.
He has what looks like a tattoo of a small black and white wolf with the Sun and Moon behind them. I look at my neck and see the exact same but symmetrical to his.
“Is that normal?” I ask, knowing that the answer is no.
“Not at all. I’ve never seen anything like this….it’s fascinating to say the least. I assume it’s because you are special.”
I smile, sliding my fingers over my mark, entranced by how intricate it is. It looks exactly like Ares and Athena.
We continue to admire our marks for a few minutes before deciding to shower. As we come out, I decide to mention something that I probably should have told Lukas yesterday.
“So, did you hear what happened when I went to see Elijah yesterday?”
“No, actually you didn’t mention anything….we sort of got carried away after the wolves were let loose.” He says, as he laughs to himself at his little joke.
I smile at him, shaking my head at his playfulness. “Yeah….sorry I completely forgot. Loretta decided to come with me to meet Elijah. Turns out their mates.”
I see Lukas tensing and he turns round to me with an expression I can’t read.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m happy for her. I’m a little worried because he’s not park of our pack, he’s not a wolf….he’s an outsider.”
I think for a moment without giving anything away. He’s overprotective of his sister but he needs to remember that I was also once an outsider.
“Ok, firstly, I was an outsider, and yet here I am, Luna of the pack.”
“But you’re one of us…”
I put a finger up before he continues. “Yes, maybe I am now, but I wasn’t always, remember? And if being with the elves has taught me anything, it should be that we should accept all unless we’re given a reason otherwise. Also, we’ve given him a cottage and allowed him to stay, so I believe next step, if he wants to, is to invite him to the pack.”
He stops for a moment and thinks it over. “There’ll be a lot of the pack who won’t accept him. He’s just come in and now he’s expected to join without proving himself?”
“I never said to just let him join. He will need to prove himself. He was a ranger, and a good one at that. Give him the chance to do the same again, here. He can be given a role to work with based on the skills he has.”
“Ok, I can do that. I will bring it up in the next meeting with my Beta and Gamma.”
I nod, happy that we’re getting somewhere. I see that he’s still processing that his sister is mated to an outsider, so I go up to him and kiss him lovingly.
“Remember, I was with Elijah for months. He’s a good man. He won’t hurt her.” I think for a moment on how I can get him to understand. “I know, why don’t we go on a double date with them both, or even better, a triple date with Mandy and Nolan as well?”
“Not just one sister, but two? You’re asking a lot!” He says in jest, but I know that it’s a yes.
I slap his arm jokingly and we both laugh, ending up in each other’s arms. I squeeze him tightly and soak in his scent before letting go.
We both go get ready and I decide I’ll wear a pair of denim shorts and a beige crop top. I’ve started to like wearing these lately. I see Lukas put on some tight dark shorts, broadcasting his muscly legs. He wears a smart shirt with short sleeves and I can’t help but savour the view I have of him as he puts on a watch.
I shake my head, not wanting to go back to the bed for the next round. “Let’s go, I’ll mind-link Mandy and Loretta and will get them to whip their men to meet us at the Dome for mid-day. Sound good?”
“Yes little one. Now, let me go into my office and try and sort some stuff out. I’ve obviously woken up late.” He groans as he says this, knowing he’s probably got a lot to work on, but I smile knowing he spent some extra time with me in bed.
I decide not to dwell in the room so instead head over to my office. I look at the books in the bookcase and see the leather book, the one that detailed my past, even though it shouldn’t have been possible to hold the information it did before I joined the pack.
I decide that I’ll be taking the book to Elijah, to see if he can read any of the text within. I grab a backpack and try to gently ease the book in without causing any damage to it.
I sit at my desk and notice some paperwork has been placed neatly in front of my chair. I smile, liking the thought of having a bit of work to do that will hopefully start to enrich lives at the pack. I jump right in to it, first task of the day is to read over what my ranked females have been up to.
An hour or so later I glance at the small clock on my desk and notice it’s nearly noon. Just as I get up, Lukas is at the door to my office leaning on it slightly. I blush as I hadn’t realised he was watching.
“I love seeing you so into your Luna duties. It just makes me feel whole knowing you’re where you’re supposed to be.” He says, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
“Well good, because I hope you’ll get used to me doing this!” I laugh, standing and then moving around my desk to walk towards him to give him a kiss.
We both leave the top floor and head out of the pack house. As we’re walking, we see Mandy and Nolan not too far ahead and we jog to catch up with them.
“Mandy!”
They both turn round and smile when they see us, stopping to allow us to catch up.
“Hey you two!” She says, with a smirk on her face and I can feel my face going red as if she knew what we were up to last night. I see Lukas scowl at her and Nolan chuckles softly.
“Is Loretta coming also? She mentioned meeting us at the Dome.” Mandy asks questioningly.
“Yeah, she’s found her mate.” Lukas says nonchalantly.
“What! She didn’t say anything!” She squeals excitedly, clapping her hands together as we make our way to the Dome. “So, who is it? I assume no one we know?”
I give Lukas a side glance before looking back to Mandy who drops her smile slightly.
“I think you should wait till we see her, I’m sure she’ll tell you all about it.” I say, and she nods, still looking excited but more reserved.
“Wait….what is that?” She says surprised, changing the subject and pointing to our marks.
“That, is our special mark. We marked each other last night.” Lukas says proudly and I blush when he says so.
Mandy gives us her huge smile. “I love it! I have no doubt that’s because you’re both so special!” She teases in good humour. Lukas and I roll our eyes and we start walking and end up rolling into a conversation about my crop top and then moves onto shoes, to the woe of Lukas and Nolan.
We get to the Dome in no time and we see Loretta standing outside the doors of the Dome. I frown slightly as I don’t see Elijah. Loretta spots us and smiles, giving us a small wave.
“Hey guys, how’s it going?” She says with a big smile.
I look to Lukas with a grin and he rolls his eyes slightly, not wanting any details about what his sisters been doing.
“All good thank you! How are you?” I ask without asking about Elijah. I see Mandy basically begging to ask the question but hope she can hold out for Loretta to tell her himself.
She blushes, her face going a bright red. Before she can answer, I see Elijah come out of the Dome’s entrance and look at me, his face also going slightly red.
“Hi Luna Aliana, Alpha Lukas.” He says and bows his head to us.
“Don’t be silly Elijah, we’re not at any formal meeting so let’s leave the formalities alone.”
He looks at Loretta and nods to Lukas, who reciprocates. I’m glad that Loretta has went over some formalities with him as it will help his case if he wants to join the pack.
As it finally clicks, Mandy snaps her head to Loretta as she realises what’s going on.
“Oh my Goddess, he’s your mate Lottie?”
Loretta smiles at her sister. “Yes, I finally found him!” She holds onto Elijah’s arm tenderly, but I can see she’s staking her claim which I side smile at.
I look at Elijah who seems to be looking out for my reaction, and in all honesty I am ecstatic for him. I give him a big smile.
“Congratulations, looks like you’ve finally found your soul mate.”
He looks down at Loretta and bends slightly to give her a kiss on her forehead. “Yes, looks like I have.”
I smile at them, happy for both. Nolan and Lukas shake Elijahs hand which I smile at, knowing that if there were any animosity between them, it’s now dissipated.
“Right, are we going to stand out here all day or should we go grab something to eat?” Lukas says, rubbing his hand together which results in the rest of us laughing.
I suggest going to a noodle place as I know Elijah is more accustomed to noodles and rice. We head into the restaurant and take a seat at the table.
“So Elijah, what do you think of the pack?” I ask, seeing from his clothing he’s already been taken shopping….or dragged.
“I think it’s amazing! At home, everything was more natural and don’t get me wrong, I love…loved my home. But here everything is modern.” He says with a small smile.
I can tell he’s trying his best to overcome the stuff he had seen and what had happened to him, and doing that with Loretta’s help. I smile back at him encouragingly.
“At some point you should have a good look around. I’m sure Loretta would be more than happy to show you everything.” I mention with a smirk.
I see them both look at each other, blushing. The rest of us chuckle at how cute they are around each other.
We all order and then eat our food when it comes, falling into casual conversation. When we finish, we try and decide what to do next, when I remember an idea I had earlier.
“Elijah, could you help me with something please? I need help translating something.”
Lukas looks at me slightly offended that I hadn’t asked him first. I smile at him and place my hand on his.
“It’s the earlier parts of the book I can’t read.”
