Chapter 44

Rebecca was in hurry. She is late for training. AND Zach warned her if she will be late. He will not train her more...
"Dad, I am going to train with Zach. I will come home late." She closed the door. Her eyes saw her shoelaces.
"Damn!" She bent down to tie her laces, but when she got up. Her eyes widen looking at the person standing in front of her...
"OMG! You, Damn, Simon, what are you doing here?" Rebecca shouted in excitement and surprise. Simon scratched the back of his head then smiled and waved his hand.
"Hi!" He said. She ran towards him and hugged him. Simon laughed. He brotherly hugged her.
"How are you, Moon?" He asked with a smile.
"I am fine, how are you? Simon, how is Julie? Where is she? She didn't come with you?" Rebecca asked so many questions in one go, that she is now staring at his face.
"I am all good. No, Julie didn't come with me. She is back in the pack. Julie is all good, and there is a piece of good news for you Simon told Rebecca.
"A good news, what is it? Tell me." She asked.
"You are going to become an aunt soon..." Simon said. AND Rebecca put both her hands over her mouth.
"What? Really?" Rebecca said. Happy tears came into her eyes.
"Oh God, congratulations." She grabbed Simon's hands.
"Haha, Moon, Julie misses you so much!" He said. A sad look came upon her face.
"I was missing you both so much! I wished I could meet you. AND look you are here," Rebecca said.
"Yes, I am here, now..." Simon nodded.
"I miss everyone back there, how is everyone? How is the new Alpha treating you guys? What is going on in the pack?" Rebecca questioned. Simon can see she doesn't have any idea about anything. Alpha was right!
"Everyone is fine. The Alpha is so good. The pack is in peace. AND we miss you back there, and you need to come back to your pack. It's been months, you should have come out from the trauma." Simon said. She looked at him in curiosity.
"Can we go inside and talk or somewhere else?" He asked. She shook her head in a No manner.
"Not in the house. Come let's walk with me." She said. Simon nodded his head. AND they both start walking away from Rebecca's house.
"Dad is in the house. He will get mad if I will ask about the pack in front of him. So..." Rebecca trailed off. Simon hummed.
"I can understand, don't worry!" He smiled. They are walking beside each other.
"You guys didn't miss me a little bit. It's been months, and now you come to see me." Rebecca is complaining. She pouted looking down at her feet.
"Sorry, Moon, with all the pack work. It is really difficult to get out." He apologised.
"But you also didn't call or come to visit," Simon questioned.
"I wanted to, but, dad didn't let me call you guys. He restricted us to go to the pack. I can not understand. If the matter is resolved now, why can't we go back?" She asked him. Simon took a deep breath.
"Rebecca, you don't remember anything?" He asked. She looked at him clueless.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked.
"Rebecca, don't you know what happened back there?" Simon tried to make her think of it.
"Yes. The elders selected a new Alpha for the pack instead of me..." Rebecca was cut off in a mid-sentence.
"Do you remember it by yourself? Or someone else told you this?" Simon made her think, that she won't remember it.
Her dad told Rebecca the story.
"I... I..don't understand..." She stuttered.
"Moon, just think hard, don't you find it strange? You being in this pack!!!" Simon said. He took a deep breath.
"Simon, I got this feeling that dad is hiding something from me. Is there something that I need to know?" Rebecca asked. Simon nodded his head.
"Yes, but he can't hide it from you forever... It is necessary for you to find out the truth." Simon said. But before he can say anything else. Jacob came towards both of them.
"Simon, what are you doing here?" The anger in his eyes was visible.
"Jacob, I was on some work. I was passing by, so I thought to pay a visit to Rebecca." Simon said with a smile.
"Rebecca is fine. AND I don't want my daughter to get involved with any of the members of Royal Moon Pack." Jacob said staring at Simon.
"Jacob, she is my friend. I don't find any reason for me to stop looking out for her..." Simon said. Jacob grabbed him by his collar and then snarled near his face.
"Where were you when she needed you? You took his side of him and your position was so mighty to you, that you didn't care about her at all. AND now you are here showing your fake friendship and care!" Jacob growled. Rebecca came out from her confusion. She grabbed her father's arms.
"Dad, leave him. What are you doing? Simon is my friend. leave him, dad!" Rebecca shouted. AND Jacob left Simon's collar. He pushed him away.
"Get out of here and don't come back. If I saw you here once again, I will not back away from killing you. Remember it." Jacob warned him and then went back towards the house. Simon just took a deep breath.
"Moon, take care of yourself. Be strong. I want you to find the truth. Goodbye!" Simon said then shifted into his wolf and ran off into the woods. The seed of doubt in Rebecca's heart is sprouted by Simon. Rebecca heard the loud bang of the door. She ran towards her house and get inside. Jacob was pacing in the hall. He stopped when he felt her presence.
"Dad, why did you do that? What is going on? You attacked him! How can you do that?" She was shocked and angry.
"Rebecca, those people are not loyal to you. They are not your friends." Jacob shouted. His eyes were red.
"Dad, you will not decide who is my friend and who is my enemy. I am capable to do it so please stop behaving like I am a little child because I am not... You're hiding something from me. You banned me from going back to my pack. AND now you attacked my friend." Rebecca shouted back, she is now so mad.
"I am just trying to protect you!" Jacob said. His voice is low now...
"No, Dad, you are trying to restrain me from knowing the truth. AND this is not protecting me. It is making me a coward and hiding me here. I am ready to face anything that will come my way. So, please, stop behaving like this..." Rebecca said. Her eyes welled up with tears. AND before Jacob can say anything else to her, she ran upstairs and locked herself in her room. She sat down at the door and hid her face in her hands.
AND for the first time in many months, a blurred vision of a dark wolf crossed his mind. AND the first word that came into her mind is... "DARK"
