Chapter 10 - Getting sick

The car was parked in the garage and everyone in the office building had left for work.
Alone with her keys, she walked slowly through the darkness to the lift.
Not afraid of ghosts either, she was in a good mood and looked at the figures carefully.
She was also about to become a ghost, and if she met one she might be able to exchange experiences of being a ghost.
The lift dinged and stopped at the floor she wanted to go to, and Alice came out and turned on the lights, and then scrambled around looking for information.
With no one to help her, she had to open the computer herself and scan all the paper files into it, late at night, her stomach empty.
Alice ordered a takeaway of light porridge and small dishes before he began to stare carefully at his computer.
The delivery man wouldn't come up, so she had to go down and get it herself.
Seeing Alice's thinness, the man couldn't help but say, "You're really something, you're not afraid to be over here at this time of night."
"No way."
She laughed.
Took the things over before turning in.
When I returned to my seat, my stomach growled at the right time as I smelled the smooth and soft porridge.
With a big appetite, she settled it all in ten minutes, despite the hot porridge.
She was full and refreshed.
She looked at the figures and it wasn't so hard to get through.
It took her one night to put it all together.
My neck is sore and my head hurts.
Before sending it over, the divorce papers were also typed up by the way, which did not mention any requirements, so it also said that it was a clean break.
Alice thought he would agree to such a request.
He would have nothing to lose and he would be able to leave her as an eyesore and be with her, so why not?
This agreement was placed on top of the holding statement, thinking that he would see it.
Having also taken half a day's leave earlier and not having to come over in the morning, Alice left contentedly.
Just as she left on the first foot, Tony's secretary came over on the second.
She usually came over so early to sort out his desk and papers before going about her business.
Looking at the divorce agreement on the table, the secretary was a little surprised and could not hold back her excitement and immediately put the agreement back.
She still glanced at the signature at the bottom, and for a moment, her heart felt like it was turning over in a huge wave.
She did not want to believe that Alice was the wife of Tony, the wife of the president of this company.
She immediately spread the word to her close friends and by office hours the story had gone viral among them.
No one wanted to believe that Alice would be their president's wife.
One by one, they couldn't help but discuss it, and gossip was flying around.
Seeing them buzzing, the TV on the wall couldn't resist stepping in.
The morning entertainment news was shown, with Tony's breakup with his hottest girlfriend Susan at the beginning.
In an instant, all the people flocked over to see it.
After reading the report, they looked at each other in unison, with shock in their eyes.
When this news came out, Tony immediately called Alice's phone.
The phone rang until he was impatient to slam it down, then Alice picked up, his voice a little weak, but he didn't hear it.
Her speed had irritated him and her words were nonchalant, "Have you seen the news yet."
……
"No ......" came the honest reply from the other side, she was still in hospital looking at her illness, how could she watch the news, and even if she could, she wasn't in the mood to do so.
Tony couldn't help but darken his face and his tone was morose, "You didn't see it?"
Alice was calm enough not to bother with this and instead asked, "What do you want?"
"Come here and get the contract and the money and take it to Susan's side."
He said with a dark face.
Alice was helpless and had to remind, "I took the morning off."
"Then go in the afternoon, things must be delivered."
The phone hung up, not giving her a chance.
Alice looked at the phone and suddenly felt a headache.
The doctor on the other side said worriedly, "You should fix it as soon as possible with that look.
Otherwise the chances of surviving are slimmer the further you go."
She looked at the chart and nodded with her face as normal, "I know, I'll take care of these things."
From the hospital, and hurried back to the office.
Ignoring the odd stares held directly to his office, without asking about the divorce papers went straight to the point.
Tony signed the cheque and at the same time took out the keys and a copy of the contract from a nearby cabinet and placed it in front of her.
Alice looked at the things and asked, "Why don't you ask someone else to go."
"I'll feel better if you go."
He didn't bother to look at her; once the stuff people had passed, it was none of his business.
Alice took it over and turned around to leave without looking at it carefully.
Only when she reached the door, her head suddenly became dizzy.
She didn't stand still and fell straight to the ground.
Tony heard the sound and looked over to snicker, "What's wrong, you're pissed off.
Pretending to be dazed doesn't work on me."
Alice didn't respond.
He added, "You're a scheming woman.
Not at all like Cathy's sister, she's unlucky to have a sister like you."
She still hadn't moved, so it was only when the secretary outside came over to take a look that she spoke with difficulty, "President, she seems to have really passed out."
Tony's hand paused, but did not stop.
Without changing his face, he said, "If you faint, you won't be sent to the rest room."
