Chapter 17 - Fainting
Alice thought about it for two days before considering whether she should lose the baby. She was pregnant for the first time, so naturally she didn't know anything. Looking at the photos of the baby stored on the computer earlier, her heart inexplicably rose with anticipation.
But before this, Susan told her about another matter.
Alice was lying on the bed, and after listening, she suddenly felt as if her body had been disconnected from her head, and she did not come back to her senses for half a day.
"Why don't you go back in a few days and I'll accompany you?" Susan said in a rambling voice.
Alice nodded dully, still unable to accept the fact that her mother was not her mother.
After a few days of rest, Alice was carried out of the place by them. She was getting weaker and weaker, and her whole body was already so thin that she didn't look human.
Sitting in the car, looking at the original Smith family, Alice was a bit hesitant. When Edward next to her saw this, he patted her shoulder and smiled, "There are some things that have to be cleared up. There's no escaping it, and what's more, it's about your life."
Alice nodded, but remained unmoved. Susan sat in the front seat, and since she knew that her identity wasn't that simple, her heart felt sad towards her too.
The impression of her in her heart had also changed dramatically, the person in front of her was more real and more insignificant. The person in front of her was more real and more insignificant than the scheming Alice in Tony's mouth, who was even more tragic.
"We're all waiting for you over here, so go in first. There's no need to be afraid."
The two lobbied for half a day before she slowly got out of the car.
When she entered the Smith family's door, the inside was the same as before. Janet was busy in the kitchen, suddenly looking at her return, her face fell with her.
Alice called out weakly, "Mom."
Janet's face did not look too good, and she looked at her with some disdain, "Didn't you go to find your birth mother? What are you doing back here?"
Alice reluctantly smiled and did not say anything.
"Forget it, put your things down and come over and help." She turned back to the kitchen and said in a loud voice, "It just so happens that Cathy and Tony are coming over today, so come over and help me."
Hearing their names, Alice paused for a moment, then silently put her bag down and went to the kitchen to help.
The cold water washed over her hands, stimulating her whole body to a jolt. Originally a little dazed, she was now so awake that she could barely hold the kitchen knife.
Seeing her slow movements, Janet couldn't help but speak out sarcastically, "What's the matter, you really think of yourself as a big lady."
"No." She whispered, then turned and took a piece of radish and put it under the tap to rinse.
After standing for a while, she felt a little tired. Her head was a little dizzy, only neither of them noticed this difference in her.
The doorbell in the living room rang, and Janet immediately muttered with a joyful smile, "It must be them coming back."
Alice didn't answer, her face still a little mute. Watching her go to open the door, she stopped to rub her eyes herself.
Her was already starting to feel unwell, but she had her medicine in her bag, so she could only bear it. Outside, there was laughter, but she dared not turn around.
Her hand unconsciously touched her stomach and she began to drift off. After a while, Janet came in from outside, her face already unable to contain her laughter.
Alice looked at what was under her and slowly said: "I have already handed over the divorce papers and he has agreed to them. In a few days he and I will have no more relationship."
Janet gave her a surprised look, but the smile on her face was not yet withdrawn. If you leave, you can still find someone nice to marry later."
"Right." Alice responded casually, not taking the words to heart.
Kathy came in from outside and smiled when she saw Alice, "Alice is here too, wow, what are you guys doing?"
"It's not what you love to eat." Janet pursed her lips and smiled, seeing her daughter couldn't help but be delighted too, her hands kept moving and added, "It's all what you and Tony like to eat."
As Alice listened, she couldn't help but feel a pain in her heart. She hid it well on her face, not showing a trace of her feelings.
Kathy smiled and rubbed herself against Janet, then reached out as if to come over and help, only to be pushed away by her, who frowned and pushed her out of the kitchen.
"You and Tony have a good wait outside; this dish will be ready soon."
Kathy pursed her lips and smiled, glancing smugly at Alice over there, and quickly returned to stay by Tony's side.
Janet came back to continue her work, and seeing her still washing the dish, she couldn't help but frown, "You've been washing this for half a day, why isn't it clean yet."
She didn't notice Alice's miserable pale face; she only watched her frown and couldn't help but sarcastically say a few words.
Alice finally couldn't help it, her body felt like it was going to explode, and the contents of her nose felt low and exploded in her hands.
Janet looked at her with some surprise, and before she could say anything more, she watched as Alice slid down and fell to the ground after giving her a blank look.
