Chapter twelve

After eating, I told Adonis that I wanted to go out for some air because I haven’t left this cabin for the last two days. Adonis took me out to a spot near the cliff. He said he usually comes to think here.

I understand why he does that. The place is peaceful and quiet. The only sound that could be heard is the water from the water fall that leads in to the cliff. But the sound wasn’t disturbing but rather refreshing.


“What do you think of this place?.” Adonis asked me.


“Well it’s a perfect example of serenity!.” I said and turn around. This is the kind of peace I have been hoping for all my life.


Adonis raised his brows and burst into laughter. I smiled as I stare at him. He had such a beautiful laugh. But sadly he hardly laughs.


“You know Alex, you are really something else. Anyway, can you swim?.” He asked me.


“Yes? Why?”. I asked, looking confused. I couldn’t see a river or a pond. Just the cliff. And I refused to believe that he wanted to jump off the cliff.

“Because we are going swimming!.” Adonis said and pointed at the cliff confirming my fears. I shook my head furiously. That it’s not going to happen.


“The cliff? You want me to jump off the cliff? No way, I am afraid of heights!” I declared.


“Humans! Is there anything they are not afraid of?.” I murmured to himself but I still heard it.



“The cliff isn’t that deep. I have been jumping into it since I was seven years old.” He confessed.


“Easy for you to stay. You are a werewolf!.” I pointed out. I am very sure if he jumps off the cliff, he isn’t going to feel a thing. Whereas if I did too, there is a high possibility I will die.


“So what if you are a human? I have seen humans do sky diving and cliff jumping. Don’t worry, I am going to be here. I am not going to let anything happen to you.” Adonis tries to assure me but that isn’t going to make me change my mind.


“Nope! I think I am going to stay here and watch you swim!.” I said in a final tone.


“Alright, suit yourself.!” Adonis said and just as he was about to remove his shirt, he stopped and the expression on his face changed to panic.


“Damn it!”. Adonis curses out! At that moment, I knew that something is wrong


“Is everything okay?”. I asked him.


“Yes! Just some issues at the pack. I need to go. Will you be waiting for me here, or will you wait in the cabin?.” He asked me as he got ready to leave.

“I will be fine here!.” I said. Staying alone in the cabin is actually very lonely.


“Okay. Till I am back!.” He pecked me on the lips and left.


After sitting in the same position for a while, I decided to take a walk. I kept wandering deeper into the forest until I lost my way. I tried to follow the route I came from but I couldn’t understand the pattern of the forest.


I kept walking around but I still couldn't find my way back to the cabin or the cliff.

I couldn't have gotten lost.

Out of nowhere, I felt a presence at my back and all the hairs on my body all raised out of fear.

Dear God, I can’t believe I am about to die.


Before I could turn or do anything, I felt something pressed to my noise and I soon lost conscious

Alpha Adonis POV

“Jason I need you to come over to the cabin immediately, Alex is missing!”. I ordered through the mind link.

“What? How come? Don’t do anything uncalled for. I am on my way right now!” Jason said through the mind link.

I left the cabin and went back to look for him. But unfortunately? I couldn’t find anything. They only perceive the lingering scent of Alex around.

I traced the route back to the cabin but still no sign of him.


“By the goddess, where could he possibly be?.” I ask.


Just then a blue car speeding stopped in front of the cabins and Jason came out from the car.


“Any goodness?.” He asked me.


“Not yet!.” I shake my head at him.


“I brought a cam copy of the whole area from the last two hours. Hopefully, we will find a good lead with it!.” Jason explained as he brought out a tab from his car and waved in the air.


“You are a genius l!”. I hailed Jason. I felt like giving him a kiss right that minute. How could I have gotten about the cam cameras we have all over the pack premises.


Jason on the tab and look through the footage. In the video, it shows Alex wandering around the forest until he reaches and passes the border of the pack. After he passed the border of the pack, we couldn’t see him again since that’s the limit of the cam.


“He must be in the forest then. We have to go after him. The rogues may get to him or other packs too!.” I said to Jason.

I transformed into my wolf form and ran deeper into the forest towards the direction I have seen Alex follow in the video.


I kept running until I reached the thick forest outside our territory. I transformed back into my human form and started calling out Alex's name.


“Alex! Alex! Where are you?”. I shouted at the top of my voice and the sound of my voice echoed although the forest.

I waited and waited but the whole place is silent. I kept looking around and soon I stumbled on a small rock. Beside the rock, I found a small piece of clothing on the floor. It had an Alex scent on it and another strange scent.

The strange scent smelled like that of Crystal Blue Pack. This can only mean one thing, Alex was taken by the Crystal Blue Pack warriors.

I fisted my hands when I thought about the headache that it’s about to come.

I transformed back into my wolf form and ran back to the cabin. I found Jason still waiting for me by the cabin.


“Why are you back alone? Any update?.” Jason asked me as soon as I shifted back into my human form.


“He was captured by the Crystal Blue Pack!.” I answered him.


“O wow! That can be a problem!.” Jason pointed out.

I nod my head in agreement with what he said.
Alpha Rick can be very difficult to interact with. How am I going to explain to him that I want to take with me a human that I have captured. I can’t explain to him that Alex is my mate because that will put me in bigger trouble.


“So what next?.” Jason asked me.


“We are going to get Alec back from the Crystal Blue Pack!.” I stated.


“And what reasons will be given to Alpha Wick. I mean why will an Alpha go after a human? Certainly you are not thinking of informing him that Alex is your mate right?.” Jason question. Sometimes I appreciate his smart mouth but sometimes, I feel like chopping it off.


“I am not that stupid. And who told you that Alex is my mate?”. I asked him. I can’t remember introducing Alex as my mate and so I wonder what gave him the impression that Alex is my mate. I had totally forgotten we had a conversation about it earlier on.


“Are you for real?.” Jason looked at me unbelievably before he continued talking. “ Even a blind man will know that Alex is your mate. I have known you since we were babies and so I can easily see through you. At first, I thought that Alex was your new plaything. But then I saw how affectionate you are with him. And now that he is missing, you are going insane looking for him!”. Jason pointed out.

I didn’t know I was being this transparent with my feelings. But then again, it’s Jason. He is like my twin brother. He knows me in and out.


“Well make sure you keep this piece of information to yourself. Let's be ready, we are going to pay the Crystal Blue Pack a visit!”.


“You mean now?”. Jason asked.


“Yes. I can’t wait for tomorrow. We don’t know what may happen to him by then!”. I said.


Jason looked as if he was about to complain but I gave him a glare that made him silent.
