Chapter sixteen

Alex POV
“Alright then, let me introduce myself. I am Wick alpha of the Crystal Blue Pack!.” The man introduced making my eyes widen up.
“Is it my imagination or did I hear the man introduce himself as Alpha Wick the Alpha of this pack?”. I intentionally questioned myself.
“I am sorry did you just introduce yourself as Alpha Wick.?” I voiced out my thoughts because I want to confirm that I heard wrong.
“That’s right!.” The man nodded, keeping his facial expression neutral.
“What the hell is going on here?” I wondered as I moved a few steps backwards.
“Are you playing so sort of trick me or what? Why will you introduce yourself as the Alpha!.” I scolded the man who just laughed.
“What makes you think I am joking? You introduced yourself to me and so I did the same to you too simply!”. The man stated.
I look at him weirdly. Why was he still insisting that he is the Alpha. Maybe he is mentally not stable.
That must be it! Maybe that’s why he is locked up here.
“Right! How long have you been locked here?”. I ask the man.
“I'm not sure how many years have passed but I have been here since the year 2010!”. I am shocked.
“2010? That’s like twelve years ago! You have been here for twelve years? That’s long!”. I was shocked at what I just heard.
“Believe it or not. I am not sure that it has been that long ready.” The man had a tight smile on his face.
“But how do you feed?”. I curiously ask because I am not sure if they will remember to serve prisoners down in the dungeon here.
“A close friend of mine brings me food everyday!”. The man said as he pointed at an empty dish bowl on the floor.
“Since your friend has been bringing food for you, why didn’t the friend look for ways to help you get out of here?”. I asked.
The man laughed; “Ella is just an Omega. There is nothing much she could do to save me.”
I raised my brows. Ella? The loyal friend is a she then. Most likely his mate then.
“What’s your offense then? You must have done an unforgivable thing for you to be here for twelve good years.” I couldn’t help but ask him.
“Well let’s just say that my brother desperately wants something and I was in his way and so he decided to get rid of me.” The figuratively stated.
“Your brother put you in here or what? I don’t understand what you mean.” I asked again because I was confused with his last statement.
“Well I was the Alpha and my brother hated me for that. Since he is the first son of our father and that was supposed to make him the next alpha of the pack but the council of elders chose me instead of him.
He was furious because of that and the worst part of everything is that his mate rejected him so that she could marry me and become Luna.
And so he plotted for years on how to get back at me and he finally did.” The man briefly explained.
I stood with my eyes wide as I listened to him.
“Emm… so you are trying to tell me that you are the real Alpha Wick?”. I asked.
“That’s right!” The man nodded.
“And your brother is now acting as your imposter?”. I ask, trying to understand the whole thing.
“Yes!”.
“That’s insane! How come nobody has figured out that he isn’t you?.” I ask. “I mean for sure Luna would be able to tell the difference between the two of you if nobody could, right? Or your parents or children”
“Well our parents and Luna are already dead and Rick and I are identical twins. It’s actually hard to tell us apart. I am also sure that he has help from some of the Pack elders too!”. The real Alpha Rick explained.
“That’s so unfortunate. Does your brother know you are still alive?”. I asked because I thought I understood why Fake Alpha Rick will leave him alive if he wants him out of the picture.
“No he does not know that I am alive! He believed that I was killed by a rogue ambush set up by him!.” Alpha Wick explained.
“So how did you end up here?.”
“Well during the rogue ambush, I fell unconscious and when I wake up, I found myself in here. Turns out that I was arrested alongside the rogues that were captured by the pack warriors. And when it was time for the rogues to be executed, somehow I was left behind here.” Alpha Wick explained.
“So how come Ella never said anything to anyone else?.” I asked. I mean women love to spread gossip more than they love themselves.
“That’s because nobody will believe her and she will get in trouble with Rick who I am sure will kill her!.” Alpha Wick sighed.
I nod my head in understanding. I actually admire his strength for him to be able to stay strong all these years. I also pity him. He was Locked in here for years why someone else is acting as his imposter enjoying all the privilege that actually belongs to him.
“That’s so…..” I started to say but slept silent when I heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs.
Both Alpha Wick and I Immediately become on alert.
