Chapter 30

Alpha Adonis POV


Just as I was about to enter the car, I felt a very intense pain like never before hit me on my back. I immediately fell to the ground.


I let out an agony scream immediately as my back touched the ground. My body hurts everywhere.



“Jason where are you?.” I weakly mindlink him.


“Almost there.” Jason answered.


Alex rushed out of the car and came and bend near crying. Before I could warn him, he tried to remove the arrows from my body and he immediately got burned.



“D-Don’t touch it. It’s poison…” I informed him.



“Well well what do we have here?.” I heard a voice say from behind me.


I turned my face around and saw about a dozen armed men standing over my head.



By the nature of their dressing, I know that they are hunters. And not just any kind of hunters but a powerful one.



“Jonah!.” I heard Alex exclaim in fear.


“Alex? Wow the gods must be on my side today!.” The man Jonah laughed



“Please….” Alex pleaded.


I hate to see my pleading and I hate myself for not being able to help him.



“You know you are in a lot of trouble young man. You have put a lot of worries on the whole camp with your runway. Dad, be so glad that I found you. .” Jonah said in an excited voice .


Father? Shit he must be Alex’s brother then.


“Pick him up.” Jonah ordered.


Two men came forward and pulled Alex.



“Jonah please don’t do this!.” Alex begged him.



“Shut up! You are in no position to make a request. You better behave so that I will be kind hearted enough not to inform dad that I found you with a wolf. You will be dead then. Let’s go!.” Jonah ordered the men.


“What about the wolf?.” I heard one of the men ask.


“Ignore him. There isn’t much he can do anyway. He is as good as dead. Moreover I believe he has already called for help from Pack. Let’s go before they show up here.” Jonah announced and they started to walk away.



I tried to get up but the pain hit me hard and I fell to the ground.



Soon the men went back into the forest dragging Alex. I lay on the ground as I helplessly watched them take my mate and I could not do anything about it.


About ten minutes after they left, Jason arrived.



“O my goodness Adonis are you okay?” Jason asked me.


I gave him a hard stare. Here I am lying on the floor with silver arrows piercing into my body and he dares to ask me if I am okay.


“Shoot! Of course you are not okay. Let me help you!.” Jason said. He tried to help me to a sitting position but immediately I tried to sit down, a fresh wave of pain hit me again.

That's how silver works. As long as I try to move my body, the pain will intensify. That’s one of the reasons why the silvers kill slots of werewolves. Because when you are poisoned with it, you can not do anything to help yourself except if you have an antidote with you or someone is close by to help you.



Speaking about antidotes, I remember that I have antidotes inside the car. I always go round with them. In case of any problem.



“Antidotes….” I stuttered.



“I know you need antidotes. I didn’t have any with me. I didn’t think you would be needing it.” Jason explained.


“In the car. There are antidotes!.” I groaned out in pain. The poison was moving to all parts of my body. I need the antidotes fast or I will collapse.


Jason rushed to the car and fetched the antidotes. He immediately placed two inside my mouth and I quickly swallowed it.


I let out a breath and finally fell unconscious.

I woke up to the whole of my body aching.
I was lying on a bed but I couldn’t remember how I ended up here. Jason must have brought me. The time on the clock shows that it’s morning time. I must have been unconscious all through the night.


I sat down and tried to flex my muscles. I could feel a little pain but then apart from that, I feel okay.


Thank the goddess I took the antidotes if not. It would have been an entirely different story.


“Kane are you there?.” I called out to my wolf. I want to make sure that he is okay. Most of the time after being poisoned by silver, your wolf gets injured and so he shoots himself and takes time to heal himself.



I didn’t receive any response from my wolf and that got me worried.



“Kane? Kane? Are you there?.” I called him out again terrified.



“I told you that it was a good idea for you to make a race for the car. See the pain you made us pass through.” Kane lamented.




“I'm sorry! It’s good to still have you with me.” I said to him,


Just then the door opened and Jason entered.


“Nice to see you awake, Alpha. How do you feel?.” Jason asked me.



“Like I have been hit by a truck!.” I answered.



“That’s fair. I mean you have been hit by something worse than that.” Jason Muttered.


I ignored and looked around the room. I am trying to understand where we are. The room looks strange to me. It was not my cabin and definitely not the pack house.



“Where are we?.” I asked him.



“It is one of our safe houses in the forests. It’s a treehouse.” Jason explained.


I know that our safe house in the forest was recently constructed but I never had a chance to visit it.



“Did you inform anybody about this?.”
I asked him.


Jason shook his head. “Just Alfred!.”



“Good!.” I answered. The less people know, the better.



“What exactly happened?.” Jason asked.



“I was basically ambushed by a group of hunters. They took Alex with them.” I said in a tight voice. Thinking about the situation which Alex can be in right now. Is breaking my heart more than I could admit it.



“Thoes motherfu*king hunters!”. Jason swore.



“It was his brother. I think he was sent by his father.” I told Jason.



“What do you mean that it was his brother? Alex's brother is a hunter?.” Jason asked surprised.





“He is Taifun’s son.” I dropped the bombshell.



“Taifun? As is Taifun the Lord of the hunter’s?”. Jason asked bewildered.



“That’s right!.” I answered.



“You are mated to a hunter? and not just any hunter but the son of the most ruthless hunter. By the goddess your life is a mess!,” Jason uttereted.



“You know, this is going to be the biggest scandal of the century. Imagine an Alpha king like you is mated to a hunter. It would make a book though, ‘The Alpha king’s Mate is a hunter’. What do you think?. Jason asked me.
