Chapter twenty six
Meanwhile In the lounge room.
Alpha Adonis POV
“Well I guess we somehow still end up being connected!.” I commented once Miya and Luke excused themselves from the room.
It’s surprising that Miya had found her mate. I am genuinely happy for her. I can’t wait for Jason's reaction when he finds out that his sister has found a mate before him. He is going to go crazy.
“Yeap! Although I am not sure my father will be glad about that.” Lucy commented in a sad tone.
“And why is that? It is every parents dream for their child to actually find his soulmate.” I uttered. I mean it was my parents' earnest desire.
“Well you and I know that my father isn’t like the regular parents. He had always wanted to arrange both of us to be a power Alpha. Honestly he doesn’t believe in true mates. He rather believes in getting us married to gain more power.” Lucy explained in a sad tone.
“That’s sad. Why is your dad like this now?”. I asked her.
“Like?.” Lucy asked me.
“No offense, hungry for power and inhuman. I remember when I was young, he used to be one of the nicest men I know.” I pointed out. Alpha Wick is a very close friend of my father and at one point I considered him to be my godfather. But some years ago, he suddenly changed. He went from being one of the nicest Alpha to one of the most wicked. I honestly don’t know what 's wrong.
“I ask myself that every day. Sometimes I wonder if he is indeed my dad. He has changed so much. You know when my uncle died, it was as if his spirit entered my dad. I just don’t know.” Lucy lamented.
Come to think of it, it’s actually true her father does behave like her deceased uncle Rick. Everybody knew about Rick. He was supposed to become the alpha since he is the first child but because of his behaviors, his younger brother was appointed Alpha instead of him. I heard he died in a rogue attack or something.
The story was never clear.
“That’s sad. Have you thought of reporting him to the council of elders?.” I asked her.
The council of elders are appointed by the moon goddess to be the judges over the werewolves. They make the rules, punish offenders and keep balance in the lives of the werewolves.
“You can’t send a letter to them except to your Alpha.” Lucy pointed out.
“Yeah that’s true.” I concord. I feel so bad for the Crystal Blue Pack.
“Don’t worry, you make a good Alpha when you succeed your father.” I encouraged Lucy. Between her and Luke, she has the alpha aura and so I guess she is her father’s successor.
“I am not sure about that yet. My father isn’t planning on giving up his Alpha status yet.” Lucy commented.
“It looks like it. But one day he is going to die.” I muttered.
“I am kind of hungry. I think we should go have lunch. I doubt if I can make it to lunch.” Lucy said with a smile and stood up.
“That’s a great idea!”. I said and stood up too. When I came here, I didn’t plan to stay this long. But things don’t always go as planned.
“What about the feedback from the prison?”. I asked. I am actually worried about the condition Alex may be in.
“Nothing yet. You know what, how about we go check the prison ourselves after Lunch?”. Lucy suggested.
Gosh! I love how this girl thinks.
“That will be a very great idea!”. I smiled at her. I need to know we’re my mate and his condition before my wolf gets restless and goes out of control. That won’t be good at all.
We went downstairs to the dining hall and a few seconds later, the omegas started to serve our food. I noticed that one of the omegas kept looking at me.
I usually have people stare at me whenever I go. But she wasn’t looking at me lustfully or with admiration. She had a look on her face as if she wanted to share something with me. Moreover she surely looks a lot older than me by far.
Nevertheless, the omegas finished serving our food and left without saying anything. It was not until after we were done eating and they came to clear the table that she slipped a note into my hand and left.
So I was right when I said she had wanted to say something to me. And for the look of things, she doesn’t want Lucy to know.
“I need to make a call to my beta!.” I excused myself from the dining hall to the hallway.
I picked my phone and dial Jason’s number.
“I was one minute away from calling you. What’s taking you guys so long?.” Jason asked.
“Things didn’t go as planned. I am yet to find the whereabouts of Alex yet. And so we might take a while before we come back.” I explained to Jason.
“Understand! How is Miya? I hope she isn’t throwing a fuse?.” Jason asked. If only he knows.
“She is good!.” I answered. I didn’t want to reveal to him that Miya had found her mate because its not my place to tell him.
“Alright. Then. Until you get back. Say hi to Miya.” Jason said and cut off the call.
I placed my phone back into my pocket and then unfolded the piece of paper the omega had slipped into my hand. The four words written on the piece of paper made my heart beat violently.
“ I am here - Alex!”.
I look at the paper again to make sure that I am not hallucinating.
“We just became one step closer to finding our mate and this is how you react?”. Kane mocked.
“What an irony. What have you done in order to help all this while?”. I fired back at my wolf.
“Well whose fault is that? If you have allowed me to mark Alex, then we would have easily located him!”. Kane defended himself.
“Don’t blame me for this. We aren’t going to mark Alex against his wish.” I uttered and walked back into the dinning hall.
Lucy was still seated there and taking a sip of her drink.
“I wish to speak to one of the omegas who served us.” I informed Lucy.
Lucy stared at me in surprise for a minute before she kept a neutral expression on her face; “Which one of them?”. Lucy asked me.
“The elder woman who wore the long skirt.” I described the Omega to Lucy. All the Omega were dressed in the same uniform. It was a good thing the omega was the only one with a long skirt and so it was easy to describe her.
Lucy picked the landline and dialed a number.
“Among the omegas who served us lunch today, the one wearing the longest skirt told her to come to the dining hall immediately.” Lucy instructed.
“Thank you!”. I told her as I took a seat. I don’t normally thank people but then it’s about my mate.
“Welcome, although I never knew you were interested in older women.” Lucy said as she smirked at me.
