Chapter thirty two

Alex POV


After Adonis and I were done saying goodbye to the Alpha Wick’s family, we headed to the car.

“Is there anything you want?.” Alpha Adonis asked me when we entered the car.



“No, I am fine! Thank you for coming to get me.” I appreciated him. A great part of me didn’t actually expect him to go through all those trouble for a mere human like me.



“Listen, you don’t have to thank me. It’s my job. I will always be there for you whenever you need me.” Adonis promised me and pulled me into a hug.


I smiled as I smuggled into his arms. This feels like home. I am lucky to have someone like him in my life.



After a while, Adonis let go of me and started to drive the car.



“It’s going to be an hour drive. Do you want to listen to music or watch a movie?.” Adonis asked me.



“I watched a movie?.” I asked excitedly. I haven’t gotten a lot of opportunities to watch television. Because my father did allow me to have that luxury. The only time I mostly watch television is when my father is not around then Lily and I will sneak into his private quarters.



“Yeah sure.!” Adonis answered. He then pressed a button on the rare mirror and it turned to a television. I would be lying if I don’t say that is one of the most amazing things I have seen. I never knew mirrors can turn to television.


Adonis then passes a remote to me. Good thing the remote is self explanatory and so i didn’t have to disgrace myself. Imagine if I cannot use a remote. That’s disgraceful.



I flipped through the television and ended up finding a movie which I started to watch.

Far into the journey, Adonis started to slow down. Before I could ask him what is wrong,


“Turn off the television.” He ordered me..



“Is something wrong?.” I asked him as I turned off the television.



“That’s what I want to find out. Stay in the car.” He ordered me and got out of the car.



I watch him as he walks around as if he is looking for something . After a while, he then started to walk back to the car.



The next thing happened so fast, I saw Adonis groan and fall to the ground.


My heart started beating very fast, “what is going on?.”


I saw Adonis place his hand on his back and pulled out an arrow.

O my god! He has been shot.


He tried to stand up before he fell on the ground. I could sit here and watch him anymore. I quickly opened the car and got out.



“Adonis!”. I shouted as I got out of the car.


“Alex go back into the car and lock it”. Adonis ordered him.

What? How did he expect me to do that?


“No! I wouldn’t leave you here!.” I cried out and I started to move closer to him.


“Go back into the car now!.” Adonis shouted.


I stood still without moving an inch.


“Please….” Adonai begged me.



I stood weak for a moment contemplating on what to do. I know that being out here is risky and I will only make him worry the more. I head back into the car. And helplessly watch Adonis


I watch Adonis remove the arrow from his back.

He stood up and rushed to the car at a very high speed. But before he could enter the car, he fell to the ground.




Just as I am about to enter the car, I felt a very intense


He then let out a cry of agony. I couldn’t just stay here and watch him suffer. I rushed out of the car and bent over him.


I let out a sob when I saw his condition. He has arrows pierced all over him.

I tried to remove the arrow from his back but my hand got burned.


“D-Don’t touch it. It’s poison…” Adonis informed me.


At this point I know that it is wolf bane. My father usually used it when hunting wolves.



“Well well what do we have here?.” I heard a voice said from behind Adonis.


I look up to see the men attacking us. My heart immediately cut when I saw who it was. It was my elder brother Jonah and his men.


“Jonah!.” I exclaimed in fear.


“Alex? Wow the gods must be on my side today!.” Jonah let out an evil laugh.



“Please….” Alex pleaded with me as I swallowed hard. I don’t even why I am begging him but the. When it comes to Jonah, he knows how to make you go on your knees.



“You know you are in a lot of trouble young man. You have put a lot of worries on the whole camp with your runway. Dad, be so glad that I found you. .” Jonah said in an excited voice .


Damn it! I guess my time of death has finally come.


“Pick him up.” Jonah ordered.


Two men came forward and pulled me.



“Jonah please don’t do this!.” I begged him. I don’t want to go back to that camp.



“Shut up! You are in no position to make a request. You better behave so that I will be kind hearted enough not to inform dad that I found you with a wolf. You will be dead then. Let’s go!.” Jonah ordered the men.


At his words I kept silent.


“What about the wolf?.” I heard one of the men ask. My heart immediately cut.


‘Dear god, please let them not harm him.’ I silently prayed. I can never forgive myself if Adonis ends up dead because of me.




“Ignore him. There isn’t much he can do anyway. He is as good as dead. Moreover I believe he has already called for help from Pack. Let’s go before they show up here.” Jonah announced and started to walk away.


Thank god! I let out a breath of relief. At least Adonis will be safe.



“What do you want from me? I have already been disowned!.” I swore at Jonah when we were far in the forest. I know that I will be killed if taken back to the camp. So I decided to provoke Jonah so that he can kill me now. At least I won’t be tortured then.



“True. But he isn’t done with you”. Jonah answered. I knew he was talking about my inheritance.



“I will never allow myself to have a dime out of that money.” I swore.



Jonah let out a laugh; “As if you if you have a say.”



“Stop laughing. It’s enough looking at our hideous face nobody wants to see your monster teeth.” I mocked Jonah with a smirk on my face.

Jonah has ugly set of teeth and hates it when someone makes comments about it. I watched with satisfaction as his face turned dark with anger.


The next thing, I felt a fist stamp into my face. And then I fell unconscious.

I felt something very cold splash all over me and I immediately opened my eyes. I found myself bound with my hands to the back. And my feet were also bound. Looking around, I know that I am in one of the camp's cell rooms.



“Finally you are awake, pretty boy.” Jonah mocked. He was standing in front of me with a knife in his hand. I was having a bad feeling about it.


I stare at him without saying anything.



“Since you think you are handsome and can mock others, I will give you a permanent mark on your face that will make you the ugliest person.” Jonah swore as he waved the knife up.


I knew he was planning something bad with that knife. Knowing Jonah, I know that he wasn’t just threatening but will actually do it.

God! Me and my big mouth. See what I got myself into.



“Y-you won’t…” I stuttered as I shook my head.



“O so now you are afraid?. It will be a pleasure watching you scream.” Jonah stated and moved closer to me.



“Hold your hose Jonah!.” I heard my father’s voice followed by footsteps .



My father soon appeared in my front together with my other brother Luke.


“Why father? This rat here had the guts to insult me. I need to teach him a lesson.” Jonah growls.



“I promise you that you will have enough time to do that later. For now we need him looking healthy. He is our golden goose. We need him to be clean until the lawyer sees him.” My father said to Jonah.


I knew it had to be because of the money. That’s why they went to all that trouble to bring him back.



“And after that?.” Jonah asked.



“After that you can do what you wish with him.” My father promised Jonah.


Jonah gave me a deadly smile before he left the room whistling.


“It’s nice to have you where you belong son. I hope you enjoyed your few hours of freedom because it will be your last. Meanwhile, enjoy your stay here. I hope you like the cold floor.” My father said and felt the cold room with Luke.



I sit on the floor and watch them leave.
