Chapter twenty 28

Alex POV


After describing my life story to Alpha Wick, we sat down and talked about everything and nothing.


It felt nice conversing with him. He is the first elderly person I have actually had a casual chat with apart from my home. My dad never talks to me except he is yelling orders or threatening.



After a while, I started hearing a voice like Adonis calling out my name.


“Did you hear that?”. I asked Alpha Wick just to be sure that I wasn’t hallucinating or anything of such.


“The voice calling out your name? I do. It seems like your mate has found you.” Alpha Wick said.



I happily smiled and ran to the entrance of the cell. I knew Adonis would come for me. I saw Adonis standing with a light at the entrance of the cell.


“Adonis. You came!.” I happily exclaimed.


“Of course. I will always come for you.” He uttered.


I know! I silently answered within myself.



“How did you end up here?”. He asked me.


“It’s a long story. How did you find me? Did Elsa tell you I am here?” I asked.



“Yes she did. Let me get you off here and then you can tell me all about how you ended up here.” Adonis instructed.


He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply and then growled. The next thing I knew, the door was broken.


Adonis immediately pulls into a tight hug.


“I missed you Kitten.” He whispered into my ears as I smuggled into him.



At that moment, we started to hear footsteps coming from the cell. I guess Alpha Wick is about to make an appearance.


“Uncle Rick?” . A feminine voice from behind Adonis exclaimed. It was then I noticed that Adonis wasn’t here alone.

Elsa was also here and the other lady.



“Uncle Rick?”. This must be Alpha Wick's daughter then. But then why couldn’t she recognize her father. I mean according to his story, he looks like his brother but I didn’t accept the similarities to be undifferentiated. But then, I have never seen the real Rick.




“L-Lucy…..” Alpha Wick called out.



“How can you still be alive uncle Rick? Das told us that you died in the rogue attack twelve years ago.” Lucy explained looking lost.



“Does das know you are alive? Is this a plan you are hatching just to take over the pack?.” Lucy asked.




Alpha Wick smiled at her; “You have grown so big but you still remain the same.” Alpha Wick said in a low voice.



“Why are you sounding as if you and I were having a good time? You have always disliked me and my brother.” Lucy fired.


I look at her confused. How could she not recognize her own father? I could recognize my own father even with my eyes closed. But then I didn’t blame her. She had lived with an imposter for the last twelve years.




“O Lucy. It’s me, your father.” Alpha Wick confessed.



Adonis made an attempt as if he wanted to talk but I prevented him.



“What do you mean you are my father? You must be sick in the brain. I need to ask dad about this.” Lucy announced.


“No!!!!!!”


Elsa, Alpha Wick and I shouted at the same time.



“Please Lucy listen to what he has to say first.” I pleaded with her.


“Please!”. Begged Elsa too.



“One minute before I call the guards.” Lucy announced.




“Thank you. Twelve years ago, on a fateful day, the pack was attacked by a group of rogues and so I went to fight off from the border with some guards.

Suddenly, the whole place was covered with smoke. I didn’t remember the next thing that happened but when I woke up, I was in this cell with the face of my brother Rick.” Alpha Wick briefly explained.


He didn’t tell me the story this deep. How did he end up with his brother’s face? I am beginning to doubt his story.




Lucy was silent for a minute before she let out a violent laughter.


“So what you are trying to tell me in the nutshell is that you are my father the real Alpha while the man out there is your brother impersonating you?.” Lucy asked.



“That’s right.” Alpha Wick answered.



“Wow pigs will surely fly one day.” Lucy mockery stated before she burst into laughter again.


“I am telling the truth Lu”. Alpha Wick said.


Lucy stopped laughing and stared at him; “don’t call me Lu. Only my father does that. If you want to believe in You, then prove that you are him.”



“Alright then.” Alpha Wick answered.



Alpha Wick went on proving to Lucy that he is indeed her father. By the time he was done, Lucy was already in tears.



“O my god dad is really you.” Lucy exclaimed and hugged.


Alpha Wick hugged her back and I saw him shed a few tears too.

“All these years, I knew something was wrong but I couldn’t point a finger at it. He might have been bearing your face, but he doesn’t have your character.” Lucy pointed out.



“But why are you looking like Uncle Rick and he looks like you?” Lucy asked, looking confused.


“My brother must have used a witch spell to exchange our faces.” Alpha Wick explained.


“But why didn’t you come and find us? We would have helped you.” Lucy cried out


“I wish I could. My brother is a known criminal and so if I come out bearing his face, I will probably be killed or napped before I reach the palace. How is your brother Luke?”. Alpha Wick asked.


“He is fine. He has found his mate.” Lucy announced.


I actually froze when I heard her say that. What does she think that he has found his mate? It could not be Adonis right? I just hope not.



“That’s nice to hear. What about you?”. Alpha asked Lucy.


“Not yet.” She answered.



“That’s strange. Have you ever met the Shaman?”. Alpha Wick asked.



“Nope. Your brother, the fake alpha, banned the people from visiting the shaman.” Lucy uttered.




“He had really caused a lot of harm to this pack.” Alpha remorseful muttered.



“You have no idea dad. How can we get out of this mess? Anything that needs to be done, we need to do it before tomorrow evening because he is coming back from his trip tomorrow evening”. Lucy expressed.


“You need to go to the shaman and bring him here. I don’t think it's a good idea for me to go out looking like this.” Alpha Wick expressed.



“Why do we need to get the shaman?”. Lucy asked.



“Because he is the only one who can solve this. He only has the powers to reveal the true Alpha.” Alpha Wick explained.



“So why didn’t you try to go to him all these years?”. Lucy asked the question that was in my mind.



“Because his forest is sacred. No one can get in. I had tried to send Ella there but she couldn’t pass the foot of the forest.” Lucy explained.



“Why then did you think that he would allow me to enter?” Lucy asked.



“O trust me, he will.” Alpha Wick assured Lucy.



“Good then. I will go now. What about you? Are you staying here or going to the palace?”. Lucy asked.



“I am fine here, I will leave when all the matters have been solved.” Alpha Wick exclaimed.



“I can’t believe this is where you have been for the past few years. It must have been terrible.” Lucy looked at the Cage in disgust.



“O you will be surprised. Do you remember the secret cave I used to tell you and your brother's story?.” Alpha Wick asked.



“Yes. This is the Cage?”. Lucy excitedly asked.



“Why don’t you see for yourself.” Alpha Wick uttered.

Lucy hurriedly rushed into the Cage.



“Adonis, you have grown so big compared to the last time I saw you.” Alpha Wick said to Adonis.


“It’s nice to see that you are alive.” Adonis said in return.



“Ella! Come.” Alpha Adonis said and gave Ella his hand. She started blushing and moved closer to him. She shyly placed her hand in his and he led them into the Cage.


It was just remaining Adonis and I standing outside.


Before I could say a word, Adonis pushed me to the wall and clashed his lips with mine. He started to kiss me with so much hunger and passion. I willingly opened my mouth and allowed him to take control of the kiss. I usually miss the last few hours that I am away from him.



I didn’t know for a long time we kissed until someone cleared his throat. I looked to the side and saw Alpha Wick, Lucy and Ella staring at us.


My life has just ended.



Adonis, on the other hand, kept on with the kiss as if he didn’t see them.


I placed my hands on his chest and slowly pushed him away. He gave me a last peck before he left me.



“Sorry to interrupt you guys”. Lucy teased making more flushed than I was.



“Time isn’t on our side and we need to go now. I was thinking. If you can come with me while Alex stays with Dad and Ella here.” Lucy suggested to Adonis.



“Is it okay with you?.” Adonis asked me.



“Yes. It’s fine.” I answered.



“Okay then. We will be back before you all know it.” Lucy announced.



Adonis gave me a peck before he left with Lucy.



When I turned and watched Alpha Wick and Ella exchanging looks, I realized that staying here might not be a good idea because I am about to become the third wheel.

Alpha Adonis POV


To say that I am shocked, it’s an understatement. I can’t believe all that happened. It was as if I was watching a soap opera.


In the nutshell, Alpha Wick I have been interacting with all this while is an imposter. This couldn’t get any better.



I can’t wait for all this to be over so that I can go back to my pack.


“How are you feeling?”. I asked Lucy on our way to the shaman’s forest.


“Honestly, I feel kind of overwhelmed. It seems as if this is just bad. I can’t believe that the man I have known as my father for the past twelve years is an imposter.” Lucy sighed.


“Don’t worry, everything will be settled.” I comforted her.


We soon arrived in front of the thick forest.
I parked the car and we got out together. I tried to enter the forest but something was resisting me. I’d like there to be an invisible barrier that is preventing me from entering.


“I can’t enter the forest. Something is preventing me.” I complained. When Alpha Wick said that no one can enter the forest I thought he was exaggerating.


“ Let me try!”. Lucy offered and moved closer. She entered the forest without any struggle.


This should be the reason why Alpha Wick asked her to come here. But then how can she enter the forest when the alpha himself can’t? Maybe she is the next shaman.


“Why don’t you wait here, will I go in?”. Lucy suggested.



“Are you sure that you will be okay?”. I asked her.



“I am stronger than you think.” Lucy said and with that, she went deeper into the forest.


I brought out my phone and decided to make a phone call to Jason while I waited for her.
