Chapter 32
KIRA:
“You still have to tell me how you got into my head,” were the words that leave my mouth as soon as I get close to Kelvin who was standing in the location he gave me to meet him.
He doesn’t react to my statement but instead says, “It was the only way I could get you out of your quarters.”
“But it felt so creepy. I cannot even begin to imagine myself going through such again,” I say as I recall what had happened about twenty minutes ago while I had been in my room.
Being super bored, I had laid flat on my bed to while away time when suddenly a voice that was neither mine nor Alexia’s got into my head.
It first caused me a head throb and when I managed to get my head settled, I found out it was Kelvin who had managed to one way or another mind-link me.
“How were you able to do it?” I have to ask him because I cannot seem to understand how he was able to achieve such a feat with me.
I know that I can be considered one of the regulars, but the fact still remains that I am not a mature one yet so it should be impossible to get that done with me. This is why I still do not have access to the pack link. Yet, Kelvin here was able to get through to me.
“I guess it was because of the special connection we share. It should be the reason,” he says, but even he himself sounds unsure. Maybe I should just leave the issue for another day and find out what he summoned me out here for.
“So why do you want to see me?” I demand.
He looks about first and during that short period I was able to get a much closer view of what he has on. A jacket over a white T and a pair of jean pants. Simple as it may look, it made him look cool.
“I needed to find out what you got from meeting with your friend.”
“You should have just asked me through the link instead of making me come out here. Do you know how many guards I had to evade before getting to this place?” Even as I speak, I still feel wary because of the location he chose.
“I had limited time. The only few seconds I had to get in touch with you was what I used to get you to meet up with me. I would have done the needful if it were up to me.”
My eyes drift around the location. Feels like an easy area to do something bad to someone. I have no idea why such a thought got into my head but it just did. Pecks of being wild sometimes.
“But why here? This place feels creepy.”
“Do you have a better location? I will be sure to go with you to the place,” he says but I do not even respond to him as I continue to look warily around. “So, what did your friend tell you?”
I look back at him. “He cannot help us, unfortunately.”
“Why?”
“Because it is not within his power to help. I did mention to you that he is a guard but that’s that. He is only a guard without anything special attached to it so there is no way for him to reach the alpha.”
Kelvin seems to fall into deep thought for quite a long time. This is because he goes speechless while I just stand there and wait for him to come up with something.
“Is there any other person that could help us out? Do you have an idea of someone that could easily meet with the alpha?”
I shake my head. “None that I know of,” I announce. “What about you? Don’t you have anyone? You are among the coolest guys in school so I think you should have someone of high power that can help.”
He gives me a look that I cannot even fathom because it was rather strange. “I would not be asking you for help if I did have someone that can help me out. Isn’t it that easy to get?”
“My bad, sorry,” I apologize, seeing through my mistake. “So what do you plan to do since there is no way in that?”
“I’m thinking of cooking up something, me and you.”
My brows are raised questioningly. “You and who? Me? I guess not. I don’t want to be found cooking something that could affect me in the wrong way. What if it backfires at us? How do you want me to get over it?”
“It won’t,” he counters. “What I’m planning is not something that would affect either of us in the wrong way. It is just a way of saving the students as well as the members of staff from possible harm. I know for sure that if we do not get to warn them beforehand, we would all regret it.”
I’m starting to get skeptical about involving myself in this in the first place. I don’t think this is for me. I mean, trying to save others, especially those that never saw me fit to be among them is not my style.
“Kelvin, have you wondered for once if you might be wrong about what you think that thing is? What if it is just a mere assumption you are making about it? It could be something like that if you care to know.”
“Assumptions are only possible if it comes from instincts. What I saw in the school was not assumed. It was something both my wolf and I felt together... A strong energy that is capable of doing more harm than we could ever imagine. I would not be pursuing a way to get it over with if it was simply based on assumptions.”
I take a deep breath. Maybe be is right. Maybe, just maybe. I could only be allowing my nervousness to cloud my emotions which is why I am speculating wrongly about everything.
“Now, what do we do? What do you have that could help the situation because I sure don’t to get caught by the guards. The total shutdown is still in place.”
“Don’t worry, this won’t take too much of your time,” he says before starting to explain what he has in mind to me.

REID:
It’s been a while but I have not caught up with what I thought was in the woods talk less if sighting it. I am starting to think I am chasing thin air but the rustling ahead is making me think otherwise.
Each time that I feel I am getting close, it suddenly becomes farther to reach. I have no idea what the thing is but I know it is messing with me. Perhaps it is trying to play a game with me that I unwillingly accepted.
If I had been years behind maturity, I am certain my legs would have been weary from all the running. Even in my stage, I can still feel little aches because I have had to make impacts with hard substances and the like. And it has not been good all through.
If I could just lay my hands on what it is. I wouldn't mind snuffing life out of it for making me go through this predicament of having to chase it down.
All of a sudden the rustling stops. If I am to assume clearly, what I am chasing after has gotten to a free land. Which means I might be able to catch sight of it. This kicks in the motivation to get to it faster and that is when I increase my pace.
In no time, I am met with free land but still no sight of what it is. Now I am more confused than ever. What was I chasing after if after getting out of the thick woods that was covering my sight, I still could not find it? This is strange.
I know I had been after something because I had seen faint footsteps while going after it. The footsteps looked like that of a wild beast which is the reason for the constant use of ‘it’. So that means I have been after something truly.
Right on the free land, I try to see if I could find the footsteps which would lead me into tracing what it is. I look around for one but even in the four directions of this area, I find nothing.
I almost grab my hair in frustration but resist myself from doing so because it would only make me rip my hair out. And the last thing I needed was to go bald.
Suddenly, I perceive a scent. Could it be the scent of the beast? Whatever it is, I must find it. And so I begin to go in the direction of where the scent was coming from.
I reach a certain path and finally discover two beings of opposite sexuality standing by a side while deep into a conversation. They both are teens, that, I could tell.
What is rather strange is the ignition of something inside of me which was a result of the female between the two standing a distance away from me.
