Chapter 13: He's the King

Natasha didn't know how to tell the Alpha about what happened. She doesn't want a mess, so she must hide the truth.

“I just got bored, Alpha. Nothing happened.”

Natasha is hoping that the alpha will never notice that she was only lying. She's hoping that the alpha will stop asking again.

“I know you, Natasha. You shouldn't hide from me because I know you. You are my mate and I will eventually find out when you're telling the truth and when you are not. At this time, you are not telling the truth.”

She swallowed her saliva when she heard those words from Alpha Reid. She even realized that she messes with the wrong person. Alpha Reid is not a man who can be deceived. Natasha knew that already, but still she continued it.

“I am so sorry, Alpha, but I don't want a mess…”

Alpha Reid held her two hands that stunned Natasha. She never expected that Alpha Reid would be about to do that. Natasha looked at the alpha's eyes. His eyes were pleading her to tell the truth. It seems like Natasha would be about to be carried away by Alpha Reid's stares.

“Listen to me, Natasha. I am your mate. I am sometimes rude to you, but believe me I will protect you. No one will hurt you when I was behind you. I am the new king now and I can protect you.”

Those words are encouraging for Natasha. However, she is hesitant to tell the Alpha about it. She wanted to, but Natasha didn't want a mess.

“Alpha Reid, we are glad that you found your mate.”

Natasha turned her head to those women who harassed her earlier. Out of fear, she grasped the alpha's hands that made Alpha Reid look at her. The alpha already sensed something even if Natasha didn't tell him about it.

“Do the three of you know that I am now the king?”

Natasha was confused about what the Alpha had inquired of the three women. It can be seen on their faces that they are shocked by what the Alpha had asked them.

“Yes, we are so aware of that, King Reid.”

One of them started to speak and kneel, so the rest followed. Natasha was nervous about the alpha's plans to them.

“That's good to know. Now, if you three had respected me as a king, tell me the truth…” The three women bent their heads on the ground because of what Alpha Reid told them. “What did you do to my mate?” He continued.

Everyone was in silence for about one minute. No one dared to speak that annoys the alpha. A warrior came to their direction, so Alpha Reid pulled his sword and pointed at them.

“We are deeply sorry, Alpha. We'll tell you the truth.”

“Just please don't kill us, Alpha.”

“We are so ready to accept the consequences, but please do not take our lives.”

Those three women are so afraid about what the alpha was about to do. Natasha's knees were trembling now because of the possible outcome. She doesn't want to witness with her eyes how the alpha slayed these three women.

“That's good. I am the king and both of you should obey me.”

Natasha is still bending her head down because she's afraid to know what will happen next. She doesn't want anyone to be in peril just because of her. She didn't indulge anyone.

“We tried to harass her earlier, Alpha.”

“We didn't mean it and we will accept the consequences you'll give to us, King Reid.”

“I know what we did to her makes your mate run away and we are asking for an apology, Alpha Reid.”

Natasha was shocked by what these women admitted towards the alpha. She can't believe that they would admit to him what they did earlier. Natasha realized how powerful the Alpha is.

“Oh, I almost forgot that he was the king already.”

Natasha uttered those words in her mind. She was afraid to say it aloud.

“The three of you harass my mate without my presence?”

It can be noticed from his words that the alpha was mad towards them. Natasha was also afraid of what would happen next. She knew the alpha. Actually everyone knows what he is.

“We are so sorry—”

“Damn it! You will face the consequences from what you all did to my mate!”

What Alpha Reid did caught the attention of the palace guards. They went in their direction and asked what happened.

“Is there any problem, King Reid?”

One of them queried, which made Alpha Reid look at them. Natasha's legs were still trembling. She didn't know what she had to do to stop King Reid from his plans.

“These women harassed my mate and I want to punish them. Bring them to the cell.” Alpha Reid exclaimed, which made the palace guards nod their heads.

They are about to grab the women's wrists when Natasha speaks up. She didn't want them to be punished. They didn't know what they were doing earlier as Natasha thought.

“You don't have to do that, King Reid. I am fine and there's no need to punish them. I think they won't do it again. They won't harass me and they won't probably harass anyone.”

She was even looking at the three women who are already bending their heads down in embarrassment because of how she defended them.

“We can assure you, Miss Natasha, that we won't do it again. We are truly sorry for what we did.”

“You shouldn't intervene with the alpha's orders, Miss Natasha. You can't do anything about it. We have to do this.”

One of the palace guards mentioned those words that scared Natasha. She looked at the alpha and he was only staring at her with his blank expression. Natasha couldn't tell what the alpha was thinking now, but she will do her best to convince him.

“Please…”

She begs to the alpha and then Natasha was stunned by the alpha's response.

“Why are you defending these wicked women?” He queried and Natasha's mouth fell open.
