Chapter 28: Three Wolves

Alpha Reid pushed the woman, that made her fall to the ground. The way he looked at her, it seemed like the alpha wanted to kill her. Natasha was so afraid about what Alpha Reid would do to her.

“Are you aware that I hated it when someone dared to bully my mate?”

Although his voice is calmed, Natasha knows Alpha Reid isn't in the good mood. He's mad. She could feel it. She could see it the way he looks at her.

“I… I apologized, Alpha Reid. It isn't my intention.”

The woman is begging. She's asking for the alpha's consideration while Natasha on the other hand didn't know what she must do to help this woman because she's afraid. She still remembered what happened the last time when she tried to help someone.

But, she can't afford to see the woman suffer because of her. She didn't want someone to be punished because of her.

“I think she's sincere, Alpha Reid…”

Finally, she made up her mind to speak. Alpha Reid looked at her and Natasha started to feel nervous.

“What are you saying, Natasha?”

She swallowed her saliva because of what he asked her. Natasha's legs were now trembling in fear.

“I… I mean, the woman was sincere when she asked for an apology. She didn't know what she's doing earlier, Alpha Reid, and there's nothing you must get worried about. He didn't hurt me.”

Alpha Reid stared at her for about one minute before he replied to her. Natasha on the other hand feel relieved when Alpha Reid didn't shout at her. She's happy knowing about that.

“Just make sure that she didn't hurt you, Natasha. I will consider it because you told me so…”

A smile formed on her lips after she heard those words. Natasha looked at the woman and she can see to her face that she's thankful because of what she did.

“Don't worry, Alpha Reid because I will never do it again. I am deeply sorry, Miss Natasha and also thank you for defending me.”

The woman left after she mentioned those words. Alpha Reid is still staring at Natasha while she can't explain the fear inside her heart at this moment.

“Why are you so kind-hearted, Natasha?”

He questioned her, and she bent her head down to cover the fears on her face. Natasha didn't know what she would do if the alpha would be mad because of what she did.

“It's because I didn't want to see anyone suffering because of me, Alpha Reid and I am sorry if I am so kind-hearted.”

Alpha Reid let out a sigh because of that. However, Alpha Reid just nodded his head and held her left hand instead.

“Come on, let's continue what we're doing. Darkness has arrived, and we should go back to the castle now.”

Natasha was biting her upper lips while she's nodding her head in response to Alpha Reid. They continued what they were doing and once finished, they went out of the convenience store while their groceries were brought outside by the store's personnel.

Natasha's eyes narrowed to the surroundings, and she had proven that it was already dark inside. Alpha Reid and her on their way already to go back to the castle.

Natasha was quiet while Alpha Reid focused his attention on the road. She tried her best to turn her gaze away because she's afraid to make eye contact with the alpha.

“F*ck!”

Natasha abruptly defended her forehead not to hit the hard part of the car as the Alpha stepped on the foot brake of the car. She looked at the Alpha and found out that he's looking in front, so she turned her head to the back.

“What… The… Hell?”

Natasha couldn't believe what she was seeing in front of them. There are three big wolves blocking their way. This is maybe the reason the alpha steps the foot brake without slowing the speed.

“Damn it! We're under attack, Natasha. You better stay here inside the car because I will face them.”

Alpha Reid stated that made her nervous. Natasha looked at the alpha and worries could be found in her face. She's worried about the alpha's protection.

“It's too dangerous, Alpha Reid. There are three wolves while you're alone. Let's call a back-up!”

She exclaimed, but the alpha just looked at her. It seems like Alpha Reid doesn't like what she mentioned.

“Come on, Natasha. I will be fine. It's not needed to call for backup because I can do this. Just promise me that you stay here inside and watch us.”

Natasha can't do anything, but to obey Alpha Reid. Although she's worried about his situation, she can't do anything to disobey him. She must follow him and watch him fighting the enemies.

Alpha Reid shifted abruptly into his wolf form, that shocked Natasha. This is the first time that she witnessed him shifting into his wolf. All Natasha could say from the alpha's form was gorgeous.

Alpha Reid's black shiny fur added to what people described him. He's ruthless and his fur color defines him. The three wolves who tried to block their way surrounded the alpha.

Alpha Reid was in the middle, and it seems like he was talking to the three wolves. Natasha could feel her grip on the handlebar upon watching how they attacked Alpha Reid.

The fight has just begun and Natasha started to feel nervous. She was afraid that Alpha Reid would be beaten by the three wolves. As long as she saw Alpha Reid still fighting, she wouldn't intervene, but Natasha felt the urge to do so.

“Come on, Natasha. Alpha Reid will make me mad! You're not going to interfere.”

She keeps convincing herself until something happens. Alpha Reid was beaten by the wolf in his back that he didn't notice. Natasha's body moved and, for an unexpected reason, she made the car start. She drove the car with her hands and headed it towards the wolf's direction.

She didn't know how to drive, but upon seeing the alpha's situation, it seems like her adrenaline rushed that makes the impossible into possible!
