Chapter 26: Excruciating Words

She could hear the fast beats of her heart when they were getting near to where the King was. Alpha Reid knocked the door first before they went inside. The King was on his couch waiting for them.

Natasha bent her head down to give some respect towards the King. She could feel her legs trembling every time that she faced the father of Alpha Reid.

“I'm glad that that two of you were here,”

Natasha lifted her head after those words escaped from the King. She even stared at Alpha Reid, and he's looking at his father.

“Why do you call us, Father?”

He inquired, and the King got up from his couch to face them. Natasha's nervousness increased because of how the King looked at her.

“I'm going to stay in Paris for five months. However, there are things that the two of you should know…”

Natasha looked at Alpha Reid and the alpha was also staring at her. She bit her upper lips because it seems like she already has an idea what the King wants to tell them.

“Just tell us about that, Dad. We are ready to listen.” Alpha Reid responded.

“Aside from the responsibilities that were being given to each one of you… I would like you both to focus on your personal responsibilities.”

The King's words made Natasha swallow her saliva in nervousness.

“What do you mean by that, Father?”

Alpha Reid queried his father with those words, so Natasha looked at the King. However, her face blushed when the King was smirking. His eyes narrowed to the both of them, and she feels uncomfortable because of that.

“It's about what you promise, Reid. You're going to give me a grandchild, and I was expecting the both of you to give me one.”

Natasha felt like all her blood went to her face. Her heart was beating so fast while the strands of her hair stood on both ends. She can't explain what she felt from the words that Alpha Reid's had mentioned.

She had almost forgotten that one of the conditions of the alpha's father is a baby. At first, Natasha wanted to cry every time that she heard that, but now?

She can't even explain why she feels excited, thinking that she will carry the child of the alpha. This is maybe the effect of being a werewolf's mate, as what Natasha thought to herself.

“We'll work on that, Father. Don't worry because when you return, Natasha will be carrying my child.”

Alpha Reid assured his father that what he wants will be granted. The King was smiling now when he heard those words from his son.

“I'm glad to know that. So, I have to go. Please take good care of your mate as well as the palace. I trusted you, Son. I have trained you to become a King, and I know you can handle the palace.”

Natasha was only listening to the conversation between her mate and his father. She can't stop thinking about her real parents. She had no idea where they were now. Her stepfather is missing, and she had no plan of finding him because of the way he treated them before. Natasha also remembered her sister. She still can't believe that her own sister would do that to her.

“Please be careful, Father. Don't forget to call me when you arrive in Paris.”

Alpha Reid reminded his father, and the King just nodded his head. He even pats Alpha Reid's shoulder before he leaves. Natasha and Alpha Reid even accompany the King to the parking lot area. They made sure that the King left before they left.

“My father finally on vacation for five months,”

Natasha turned her head to the alpha's direction when she heard him speak. She even furrowed her brows out of confusion.

“What should we do now, Alpha Reid?”

She queried and that made the alpha to look at her. There's something she noticed from the alpha's reaction until he smirked.

“Do whatever you want to do, Natasha. Just don't stop me from what I want. You're my mate when my father is here. I will take good care of you when he's here and now that he's not here…”

Tears threatened to fall to her eyes. The way Alpha Reid talked to her now is too painful and Natasha couldn't even explain herself either why she felt this way.

“I don't care about you. Let's part ways. You can choose your own room. Let's have sex because you still needed to give me a baby. I want you to be pregnant before the month that my father arrived.”

She bit her upper lips when Natasha thought that those words she heard from him were excruciating. It's excruciating because the alpha seems pushing her away from his life. He even wanted her to have her own room.

“B-but what if your people will know about that, Alpha Reid? What if—”

Natasha isn't able to finish her words when the alpha grasps her chin that she didn't expect him to do.

“They won't know unless you're going to tell them about it. Just don't forget to shut your mouth, Natasha, or I will never allow you to leave this castle… Alive!”

The tears that she's kept earlier fall from her eyes. She cannot handle it anymore. Those excruciating words from the alpha seemed killing her heart. It's painful.

She wanted to tell him the pain she felt, but she was afraid to do that. Natasha was afraid to make the situation worse because she knew the Alpha.

“I… I will never tell anyone about it, Alpha Reid. Don't worry a-about that.”

Alpha Reid harshly let off her chin, so Natasha wiped the tears from her eyes. The alpha even turned his body away. He was about to leave when Natasha inquired about him.

“Where are you going, Alpha Reid?”

Even though he's afraid, Natasha takes the courage to ask him about that.

“It's none of your business. Pack your things and move to the other room. I don't want to see your face when I don't say so.”

Natasha did nothing, but to cry silently from the alpha's excruciating words.
