Chapter 14: Rules are Rules

Natasha had been stunned for about a minute. She didn't know what to reply to the alpha. On the other hand, she cannot also explained herself why she wants to defend those women after what they've done to her.

They bullied her earlier. They are the reason why she ran away from the palace and then here she was trying to defend them from their punishment.

“We are willing to accept the consequences, Alpha Reid. We are not deserving of your mate's sympathy.”

Natasha was saddened because of what they told the Alpha. The women who are trying to harass her earlier are willing to accept the consequences of their actions.

“I didn't want them to be punished, Alpha Reid because they are humans too. They commit mistakes and I have forgiven them already from what they did. I know they didn't mean it, so please give them a chance…”

As Natasha uttered those words, she was staring at Alpha Reid. The alpha just furrowed his brows while looking at her.

“Rules are rules, Natasha. They admit their mistakes and in this pack, whoever does a mistake should be punished. However, there's nothing to be worried about. Their punishment isn't severe.”

A deep breath escaped from Natasha's throat when she heard those words from the alpha's mouth. She also realized that she can't do anything about the punishment here in the castle.

“I hope you'll do what you told me, Alpha. Do not kill them. I know I can't do anything to change the rules because as you said, rules are rules.”

Alpha Reid is still looking at her with his usual expression. Natasha was still facing the struggle to read the alpha's thoughts. Alpha Reid is unreadable and unpredictable.

“You have my words, Natasha. I will never let them because I cannot still accept what they've done to you earlier. They should be punished.”

Alpha Reid was gritting his teeth when he mentioned those words. He faces the palace guards, so Natasha just waits for the alpha's next moves.

“What should we do next, Alpha?”

“Bring to the dungeon. I will follow all of you later after I bring my mate to the castle.”

After the Alpha mentioned those, he grasped Natasha's hands and started pulling it inside the castle. Natasha could feel her heartbeats racing about what would be the alpha's next moves.

“W-where are we going, Alpha?”

She tried to get the alpha's attention, but he looked at her with his scary face that scared Natasha. She already knows that something pisses the alpha.

“We have so many things to discuss, Natasha.”

His deep voice sent shivers to Natasha's body. She couldn't tell if the alpha was annoyed or what. However, she already prepared herself about what will happen next.

The Alpha went inside a room while he was still pulling her hands. He locked the room as fast as he could and then pinned Natasha at the wall.

“What's your problem, Natasha? I don't like the way you defend those women in front of the palace guards. It's not a good example!”

Her legs trembling, her mouth quivering when she heard those words from the alpha's mouth. Natasha had proven that the alpha was mad because of what she did earlier.

“I have no idea that what I did is wrong, alpha. Please forgive me if I can't handle my emotions.”

Her face was in the other direction when she mentioned those words. She's afraid to meet the alpha's blazing eyes.

“You are too kind-hearted, Natasha. I don't understand why you needed to protect those people who tried to hurt you. Although I was pissed, I can't stop admiring you with that.”

Natasha's mouth fell open from what the alpha uttered. She couldn't believe it when she heard those words. Natasha didn't expect that of all men, why the ruthless alpha?

“I… I am sorry if I am too kind, Alpha. I just can't handle seeing someone suffer because of me. I already forgive them and also I think they already regretted it.”

The alpha let out a deep breath from what she mentioned. Alpha Reid let go of her and then he seated down onto the bed while Natasha still remained standing in her direction. It seems like she couldn't move her legs and also because her eyes fixated on him. The alpha was handsome in his suit and it seemed like Natasha felt attracted to him.

“But rules are rules, Natasha. I didn't want it to happen again. This is the last time that you tried to stop me from punishing those people who tried to hurt my mate. If you don't want me to be angry, then do not do anything that will make me mad.”

Natasha swallowed her saliva after hearing those reminders from Alpha Reid. She still loves her life and she can't do anything, but to follow the Alpha's orders.

“Y-yes, Alpha. I will take note of that.”

Alpha Reid just smirked from her response. Natasha's face turned red because of him. There's something also that she noticed from the Alpha. Natasha noticed that the Alpha changes emotions in an instant. He was pissed earlier and now smirked at her.

Alpha Reid stood up from sitting on the bed and stepped his legs in her direction. She felt her legs stiffened while her throat dry upon thinking what he would do to her.

“I can't take my eyes off you, Natasha. I always wanted to see your face. I always wanted to taste your lips and this…” He pointed at Natasha's lips. “Makes me crazy.” He continued.

“What are you planning to do, Alpha Reid?”

Even though her voice quivers, she still managed to utter those words without stuttering. She didn't want the Alpha to know that she's nervous to him.

“You are asking me what I should do, Natasha?”

Natasha nodded her head abruptly from what the Alpha had asked from her. She can't also explain herself why she responded so easily to him.

“What is that, Alpha?” She queried and the Alpha continued to smirk.

“I want…”

“I want to kill you.”
