Chapter 20: Comforts
Alpha Reid kneeled in front of her. He wiped the tears from her eyes that made Natasha look at him. No words formed to her lips after what he did. It seems like her tongue is back out.
“Hush, please… I hate to see a crybaby.”
Even though Natasha was in her lowest times, she can't prevent herself from laughing. She can't explain why she laughed either.
“Y-you don't have to comfort me, Alpha Reid. It's so emb—”
“Stop complaining, Natasha. You should thank me because I stayed to comfort you. As of now, you are free to let go of everything that you feel now here in my chest.”
After Alpha Aiden mentioned those words, he grabbed Natasha and locked her in his arms. She was a bit shocked by what he did, but then later on that she started sobbing. Natasha remembered again what her sister did to her.
“I don't understand, Alpha Reid. After I sell myself just to pay her bills, is this all she wants to give me?”
Alpha Reid was listening while he's rubbing her back to comfort her.
“Maybe your sister wants to start a new life while she is healing from her sickness?”
Natasha shook her head from Alpha Reid's response. She doesn't believe that because that's not what the letter tells. Her twin sister was already happy with someone else while she was suffering. She worried so much about her, and then Natasha would find out that her twin sister was nowhere to be found.
“Whatever her reason is, she must've told me about it, so I won't worry, but then she left a letter. That letter was enough for me to know that she's totally gone somewhere I don't know.”
Alpha Reid keeps comforting her. Despite how painful the situation is, Natasha can't still prevent herself from feeling adoration towards the alpha. It seems shocking for her that the alpha would comfort her.
“We can't do anything about your sister's decision, Natasha, but if you're needing help just tell me, okay?”
She looked at the alpha's face after she heard what he said. Natasha can't still believe that alpha Reid would be her comforter at this moment. Although she still felt disappointed from what he did to her yesterday, she can't deny that Alpha Reid's comforts made her feel calmed.
“Thank you for comforting me, Alpha Reid. Let's go, we need to leave here,”
Natasha got up from sitting on the couch, so Alpha Reid also did the same thing. She didn't wait for the alpha's response when she started walking to where the car was. Natasha went inside the car and tried to avoid staring at their house.
She has so many memories with her twin sister at that house. The memories that she will never forget in her life. Alpha Reid started the engine of the car, and they left the place. However, Natasha couldn't control herself to look at their house for the last time and along with that are the fresh tears that fell from her eyes.
“Are you alright?”
She looked at the alpha's side when he spoke. There was a heavy sigh that escaped from her throat before she answered the Alpha.
“Yes, I am alright, Alpha Reid. I have to…”
Her response was obvious that she isn't fine, Natasha was pleased because Alpha Reid didn't convince her. They still continued driving back to the palace until they had already arrived.
They are now walking inside the castle when they notice something. There are so many people here. Alpha Reid approached one of the palace guards to ask about what was going on.
“What happened here?”
“Thank goodness that you're back, King Reid. Someone was waiting for you,”
Natasha felt her brows furrowed because of what the guard answered to the alpha's question.
“Who is my visitor?”
Alpha Reid inquired. The palace guard was about to say something when there was someone who spoke behind his back, so her eyes turned to him. Maybe he was the reason there are so many people here.
“My friend,”
“Damn. What are you doing here, Edgardo?”
Natasha's eyes just shifted towards Alpha Reid and the man named Edgardo.
“Don't call me by my full name, my friend. Just Edgar for short. So, I came here to personally send my congratulations to you.”
“Well, thank you, and you can leave now.”
Natasha was shocked by the alpha's response to their visitor. It seems like he's not happy to see his visitor. However, the man named Edgar turned his gaze in her direction. He looked at me, deep into my eyes until everything was just like a flash.
The man shifted into someone. That someone who looked like me. But, I know it's my sister.
“H-how did you do that?”
Natasha inquired toward Edgar. She can't believe what she witnessed.
“I know your worries. You are thinking about your twin sister, don't you?”
He queried, that made Natasha's mouth too wide open.
“How—”
Alpha Reid didn't allow her to continue what she wanted to say when the alpha started pulling her inside the castle. Natasha felt dismayed by what he did, but she can't do anything against the alpha. She just lets the Alpha pull her hand until they reach the private's dining area of the palace.
This place is exclusive only to important people such as the King, Alpha visitors and so on.
“You shouldn't talk to him, do you understand?”
Alpha Reid began to be territorial. He's trying to control the people whose Natasha should talk to.
“Why are you trying to stop me talking to him, Alpha Reid? What is that man? I still have so many questions with him that's not been answered yet.”
She attempted to complain, but the alpha already pushed her. Luckily, there was a couch in her back, so Natasha fell above the couch.
“Don't be so talkative. When I say you don't talk to him, then you have to follow me if you don't want me mad, Natasha. Learn your position in my life. You are just my procured mate, so don't act like you are so special.”
