Chapter 25: He's Possessive

Natasha's back hit the hard and cold wall. Someone grabbed her and pinned her against the wall. It's not necessary for her to name him because she already has the courage to do that with her.

"Where have you been!?"

His deep voice sent shivers to her body again. Natasha stared at the alpha's eyes and found it blazing in anger.

"I... I was looking for you, Alpha Reid." She retorted.

"Liar!"

Natasha cringed when the Alpha screamed in front of her face. She could feel her heart thumped in nervousness.

"I... I am telling the truth, Alpha Reid..." She replied back.

"You can't lie to me, Natasha! I saw you talking with Damian and you'll pay for disobeying me!"

"We just talked, Alpha. We are not doing anything and I—"

Natasha didn't finish what she wanted to say when she heard a loud punch near her head. All she thought was that the alpha would punch her, but he hit the wall instead.

"You have no idea how I want to punish you for keeping me mad, Natasha. I keep telling you that I didn't want you to talk to anyone, especially with men and what have you done? You keep disobeying me!"

The tears that she's keeping earlier fall to her eyes because Natasha couldn't understand the alpha anymore. His attitude was hard to understand. She was in the point of understanding him because she knew that the alpha was doing that just because she's his procured mate. However, it's beyond the belt.

She can't tolerate this kind of attitude. Alpha Reid was acting possessive. He's a possessive alpha.

"I'm trying to understand you, Alpha Reid, but this is too much..."

She's crying so loud. Natasha even sat down on the ground because her legs already gave in. She's sitting on the ground while Alpha Reid is still standing in front of her.

"Stop crying."

He ordered her to stop crying, but Natasha didn't stop. She didn't care anymore if the alpha would be angry even more.

"Why, Alpha Reid? Do you want to punish me too because I won't stop crying? Is that what you want? Then go ahead!"

She's raising a voice and Natasha making the situation so worse, but as what she mentioned earlier, she didn't care anymore.

"Please stop crying..."

He's begging her to stop crying, which made Natasha look at him. She found out that the alpha was already staring at her. He even kneeled down, so their bodies would level.

Alpha Reid was about to wipe her tears away when she looked away. She doesn't want the alpha to touch her.

"I am doing all my best to do my job with you, Alpha Reid, but please... Respect me. I am also a human. You should not control my life. Just give me the freedom to do what I want. Don't stop me from talking to other men. As you can see, I am doing anything. We are not doing anything, so why would you stop me?"

Alpha Reid was listening to her. Natasha can't stop to release the resentment inside her heart.

"I made a mistake, Natasha and I am so sorry..."

Every time that Natasha hears the alpha asking for an apology, it seems like the anger she felt deep within slowly fading away. She can't even explain why.

"Please, Alpha Reid. Don't control my life. I swear it won't affect the job I have. Just don't hinder me from what I want to do. There's nothing you should be worried about. I am not going to entertain another man because someone already owned me."

While Natasha was saying those words, he was staring at him deep into his eyes. She wanted to see his reaction. Natasha expects that the Alpha would be mad because of what she uttered, but she's wrong.

"Okay, Natasha. I admit that I was acting possessive and what you uttered made me realize so many things. You are right. I shouldn't be hard on you. I should give you your freedom and I am so sorry. Don't worry because I won't stop you from talking with other men."

Natasha felt relief from what Alpha Reid had uttered, but she felt something different from how he sounded. It seems like there was a consequence of this agreement. It seems like she felt something would change, but whatever it is, Natasha would think about that soon.

What's important for her now were the words that Alpha Reid uttered. She was happy because Alpha Reid already told her that he wanted to give her freedom.

"Thank you so much for your understanding, Alpha Reid. I appreciate it so much. Don't worry because my job with you will never change. I will still try my best to serve you."

The alpha just nodded his head from what she mentioned. He even got up from sitting without helping her. Natasha just let out a sigh and got up by herself. She even wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Dad called a meeting because he had something to tell us. Just follow me."

Alpha Reid starts to step his feet away while he's telling those words. Natasha just followed him in the back while she's thinking of his father.

"What does the king want to tell us?"

Natasha queried herself while she's walking. However, her question wasn't answered. The only way for that to be answered will be later on.

"We should hold each other's hands,"

She winced when the alpha speaks. He even stopped from walking and waited for her. The alpha took her left hand and intertwined it to his hand. She bit her bottom lips to stop her face from blushing.

Natasha kept telling herself that what the alpha did was only an act. They will be facing his father and they should act that they love each other in front of him.

"Is it needed, Alpha Reid?"

She queried, so the alpha looked at her with his brows arched in confusion.

"Of course because we were going to face my father. I didn't want my father to doubt that we're in a fight because we are not holding each other's hand."

And that made her stunned. Natasha never expected that there's something like that when they face the king.
