Chapter 24: Assurance

Natasha feels her body freeze from what Alpha Reid does. She felt his lips against her lips while the alpha was asking her to let him in. The way he convinced her, Natasha's strength was slowly taken by the alpha. She can't say no anymore.

Natasha gives in to Alpha Reid. She closed her eyes and encircled her hands around his neck. She was answering the alpha's intimate kisses. The alpha's hands were at her back. She could feel the strands of her hair stand on both ends.

The alpha's kisses are so addictive. It seems like Natasha will lose herself every time that he tastes the alpha's lips. It's maybe because Alpha Reid was her first kiss. No one kissed her before, aside from Alpha Reid.

“You're so hot, Natasha…”

He moved his mouth near her ear and whispered those words. Natasha bit her bottom lips because of him. The alpha stopped kissing her, and it seems like she felt dismayed. Natasha was expecting more with the kiss. She wants more, but the alpha didn't kiss her again. Instead the alpha placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

“Let's go back to sleep, Natasha. Don't worry because I am beside you. I will make you comfortable, so you will never dream of bad things again.”

His assurance makes her feel relieved. Natasha went back to sleep, but what makes her happy is what the Alpha did. He was hugging her until she fell asleep.

Natasha woke up next in the morning with a smile on her lips. Alpha Reid wasn't beside her anymore and she narrowed her eyes through the room to find him. She was about to go to the bathroom when she noticed a small note above the table.

Alpha Reid was informing her that he woke up early because of work. Natasha just let out a sigh and put the note back on the table. She prepared her breakfast and also took her bath. Alpha Reid won't eat here inside the room because he's busy, and Natasha was thinking about what he must do to make herself busy today.

It has been an hour since she made up her mind to go out. She needed to find alpha Reid and asked him about what she needed today. She can't stay inside the room without doing anything, so she needed to find something that could make her busy today.

Natasha was walking in the long hall of the palace when someone called her name. She stopped walking and faced him.

The King's beta is what she saw. Damian kept walking until he arrived in her direction.

“I am so glad to see you after so many years that had passed, Natasha,”

It can feel from Damian's tone that he was excited to see Natasha while the woman on the other hand had felt fears already. She's afraid that Alpha Reid might see her talking to the King's beta.

“M-me too, Damian. It's been so long that I haven't seen you. We were still so young the last time that we talked.”

Natasha responded and Damian just smiled. He held her hands and made Natasha look at both sides, just to make sure that no one's watching them.

“Don't worry because Alpha Reid was busy. I miss you, Natasha and the almighty know how much I want to find you. I've been checking you all over the place, where you last stayed with your sister, but…”

“We shifted town, Damian, and lost here.”

“I see. So, how are you? And you know what, I can't still believe that you are Alpha Reid's chosen mate. How does that happen?”

Damian started to interrogate her, and she didn't know how to tell him. Natasha didn't want Damian to know that Alpha Reid purchased her in a bar before he found out that she was the alpha's mate.

“W-we just saw each other on the road. Alpha Reid rescued me from bad guys, and then he recognized that I was his mate.”

Natasha lied, and it seems like Damian believed it. The way he nodded his head, Natasha knew that beta Damian believes her make-up stories.

“Even now, you are still always in danger, Natasha. I still remember how I save you from peril and I missed saving your life,”

Damian's words made her bite her bottom lips. Natasha could still remember all the good things that the beta did for her. Those memories are still fresh in her head.

“Y-yeah, I still remember that.”

“You know what, Natasha… I just really can't believe to see you here again. I just want you to know that whatever will happen, I will assure you that you'll be safe when I am around you. I will protect you the way I did even before.”

Damian's words made Natasha smile. The assurance that he heard from Damian was also the same toward Alpha Reid. The alpha even assured her that she will never dream bad again when he's beside her.

While thinking about the Alpha made her smile like that. Damian noticed that, and the man couldn't stop himself from feeling sad. He's aware that the reason for Natasha's smile was because of her mate.

“Thank you so much, Damian, and I appreciate that. I just want you to know that I am so happy because I saw you again. Although I want to talk to you more, I still have so many things to do. Let's keep talking when I have spare time.”

Natasha uttered, and the beta just let out a sigh. She even left while waving her hand, so Damian does nothing, but to follow her with his stares.

On the other hand, Alpha Reid was patiently waiting for Natasha on the other side of the way. He witnessed with his eyes that Natasha and Damian talked. Alpha Reid started to feel his blood boil because of that.

Natasha just keeps walking. She's excited to find Alpha Reid, and that confuses her. It seems like he misses the Alpha.

The moment that she turned left, someone grabbed her body and slammed her against the wall that scares her.
