Chapter 19: Bad News

Alpha Reid took her lips even though they were still in the middle of the hall while she was talking. Natasha's eyes were wide open. Her heart thumped too fast. Her legs are trembling out of shock.

She's not prepared for this. This is not what she expected to happen. Natasha can't imagine herself being kissed by the alpha even if they were still in the middle of the hallway.

Alpha Reid let go of her after a minute and Natasha's face was still blushing. She can't even stared deep into his eyes.

“I know you're hungry, so come on. You should eat your breakfast and prepare for our trip earlier.”

Natasha turned her gaze in the alpha's direction. He's sincere by his words and she believes that the alpha has a word. She felt an excitement that finally Alpha Reid wants to allow her from visiting her twin sister.

She didn't waste time and followed the Alpha. Natasha ate her breakfast with Alpha Reid. The palace' maids prepared her clothes already and all she did was to change her clothes. All the things she had to do are finally done. She was walking the hallway and tried to look for the Alpha.

She called his name when she found out where the Alpha is, and Alpha Reid even turned his gaze in her direction.

“Are you ready to leave?”

He queried, that made her nod her head at him.

“Y-yes, Alpha.”

She was still stuttering when she was talking to the alpha, and Natasha didn't know when it would last.

Alpha Reid started leaving, so she followed him abruptly. They never wasted time and started their trip to where her sister is. Alpha Reid is just too quiet in his seat, so Natasha just focused herself outside the car.

She chose to look outside because she doesn't want to talk to the alpha. It seems like the alpha is taking her breath every time that he talks to her. She was always in the hot seat.

“I want you to focus on your work after this, Natasha.”

It is just one sentence, but the impact of it towards Natasha almost separates her soul. She didn't expect that the alpha would be about to speak while she was busy looking at the outside view. Natasha turned her head back to him and let out a deep breath.

“Don't worry, Alpha Reid because after I saw my sister, I will do everything that you wished for. Don't worry because I will never run from my responsibilities toward you.”

She had no plan of escaping from the alpha's hands because if she does that, she knows that it will worsen the situation. Alpha Reid is not just known for being ruthless. He's also powerful and rich. She knows that wherever she must hide, the Alpha will still find her.

“By the way, Natasha, don't ever think that there's something going on why I acted like this in front of you. I don't feel anything with you. The only thing that connects the both of us is just the mates' bonds. My wolf wants you, but not me.”

She felt dismayed once again after she heard those words coming from the alpha. Natasha can't even explain herself either, why she has to feel that way.

She shouldn't feel anything toward the alpha just like the way he did. She will never allow herself to fall in love with him, and she even swears to herself.

“I know, Alpha. I already do,”

That's what she told the alpha. Alpha Reid was about to speak up again when Natasha told him to stop the car because they are already in front of the house. She even let out a deep breath before she went out of the room.

Natasha starts walking her feet to their old house and finds out that everything was in a mess. She even saw a handwritten paper that was being put on the door. Natasha takes it and reads what's written in the paper.

Tears fell to her eyes when she read the notes. Her twin sister wasn't here anymore. She left a note that she should not find her because she was already happy where she is.

“What have you done, Sister?”

Natasha asked herself after reading the note. She even crushed it while gritting her teeth. Her sister left her after everything that she did. She took all the money with her after she came out from the hospital. However, her best friend didn't call her right away.

She was hurt by what her own sister did to her. After all the sacrifices she made, she still chose to betray her. Atasha never informed her where she is, and that's hurting Natasha.

She fell down to her knees and started sobbing. Natasha felt her heart stabbed so many times by what her sister did to her.

“Why are you doing this to me, Sister? You never inform me that you're leaving with the money?”

She looks crazy now. She was talking by herself, but she didn't care anymore. Natasha just wanted to express what she felt from what her sister did. It looks like her own sister had betrayed her.

She can't even prevent thinking of all people, why her sister? Why is it that her sister will betray her?

There are so many thoughts that keep playing into her head. Natasha tried to wash those thoughts away, but it's hard. She ended up crying so aloud. She knew that Alpha Reid already saw her crying, but she didn't care anymore.

After a couple of moments, Alpha Reid already approached her to ask about what happened to her.

“What happened, Natasha?”

Natasha bit her bottom lips before she replied to the alpha. She tried to control her tears, so she won't stutter when talking to him, but it seems like it wasn't cooperating at all.

“M-my sister l-left away… I… I have no idea where to find her,”

She was crying while stating those words at him. Alpha Reid shifted his position. He was already in front of her. His hands tucked inside his pant's pockets.

But, what's more surprising is the next thing that he did to her.
