"His highness wants your presence at the breakfast, my lady. We did not know what you would like to wear, so we brought every attire we had in the castle."
Lana widened her eyes upon the words and before she could react to the mighty blessing the maids took one step ahead. She was startled upon the sudden foot noise and it made her realise that she was not alone with lady Noh in that room.
"What in the world!?"
Lana whispered to herself as soon as she witnessed the smoke coming inside the room as if it was a wave. She had never seen any such thing before until that lord Hawthorne moment.
Within just a blink of an eye more than ten men were present in her room, each of them holding different dresses in their hands. Lana could see the flashy, expensive yet luxurious clothes in their hands. It did appear that they had brought everything they could find to present in front of Lana.
'This is just unbelievable, everyone here is a powerful hybrid here!'
The lady could not help but to admire the men who were present in front of her eyes. Each of them was no less than an eye feast that Lana felt herself drawn to them like a magnet. They all greeted her and waited for her to respond or give any order since each of them was appointed to her needs and requirements.
They all had their eyes fixated to the ground since no one of them wanted their lives to end in every possible worst way, just because they dared to glance at the alpha Sahan' woman! It was ironic that the king himself did not wish to touch her but on the other hand he also did not want any other man to stare at her or feel any kind of emotion towards her.
Lana faked a cough and made sure she was able to speak because the lady did not want to sound dumb. After all, now she had some reputation and had to live up to it. She took a few moments and skimmed through the dresses one by one as she cautiously tried not to touch anyone. How could she risk becoming the stimulus of someone else’s punishment once again!?
"I want to try that one."
Lana spoke while she gestured towards a certain dress which stunned everyone. A chill ran down their spines and Lady Noh felt herself in the middle of another trouble.
The dress belonged to Lord Sahan' beloved concubine who had died a horrible death just because she was not his mate!
“My lady…this…”
Lady Noh tried to prevent Lana from choosing that pink gown which was alpha Sahan’ concubine’s gown. The head maid was unsure who would do such a terrible thing to bring that dress there. It was evident that the female staff despised and resented Lana because they wished to warm the alpha’s bed. But he bought a lowly slave to do that and it was beyond their patience. It infuriated them and perhaps that was why one of the ladies set that trap.
But before she said anything further Lana moved forward towards some other gown. Her inspection and diversion from that pink dress prevented Lady Noh from saying anything further. Lana had already started to consider the other attires too but at that moment the head maid wondered something. She skimmed through all those staff members who were present in the room and could not find anyone who would boldly dare to bring that cursed gown there.
“No, I will take this one. Goodness, you have brought me so many breathtakingly beautiful gowns. How am I supposed to pick one and that too so soon!?”
As soon as Lana pointed out towards the certain dress Lady Noh got confused because the dress was not what would be liked by the alpha. She had been staying with alpha Sahan ever since he brought her and beta Curtis to castle.
Thus, Lady Noh knew alpha Sahan so well and for that reason she wished to tell Lana to change the dress since the alpha Sahan wanted Lana to look prettiest and sensually attractive to him. He must have had something on his mind to demand that kind of attire which would enhance the woman’s features and body.
The lady stood near Lana just a bit on the side as she tried to handle the things. Whereas the other royal staff still did not lift their heads and waited for the head maid to instruct. They were not allowed to act on their own thinking and choice unless the head maid was absent. And none of them was certainly permitted to take decisions regarding Lana’s matter.
"I am flattered you liked the gowns. But M- my lady…."
Lady Noh tried to speak so she could refuse her from wearing that particular not so catchy dress. But before she could say anything Lana had changed her mind once again. She was still skimming through the other gowns and each one was sparkling and shiny compared to the previous one. Lana had no clue which one to pick and which one to leave.
She walked from one maid to the other while watching the dresses closely and gently touching them. Since she had never had such luxury and the very day was her first time Lana had gotten such an opportunity to dress up nicely and properly. The woman was equally excited as she had been nervous about the breakfast which was perhaps going to be awkward after the events which had happened.
After glancing at every dress and thinking for a lot of minutes, Lana finally decided what to wear. Whereas Lady Noh had been staring at her with a smile while she headed towards the terrace to part the covers. Lana was sure now that the matter of gown had been resolved and she did not have to worry about landing into some peril. After all, she could not afford to offend or make the alpha angry considering that her position was weak.
Upon seeing Lady Noh's expressions changed and returned to normal, Lana knew that the head maid disliked that very dress. She cheerfully looked at the head maid and then spoke loudly while making a happy expression.
