"I will take this dress, it's gorgeous."
She spoke and lunged forward towards the man, who had been holding the dress. He leaned in and presented the dress to Lana, the lady took it and put the fancy pink gown on the bed.
Lady Noh glanced at the gown as she turned around after doing the curtains. Lana had already chosen the same dress once again, whereas the head maid felt herself straight into the mess. Lady Noh immediately recognised the dress and fear crawled within the deepest layers of her skin. She tried to negotiate to persuade Lana to choose something else, but at the same moment she was unsure how to do that.
Lana could potentially feel that something was surely wrong with the dress she just pointed out. Lady Noh carefully looked at her and the way lines creased over her forehead along with the twitching of fingers. Lana immediately grasped that the dress held some story and she had to find it. But the silent reaction of Lady Noh made her curious, the dress must have cost some fortune and maybe that was why Lady Noh became worried.
It was obvious that the dress was not pretty enough in the head maids eyes, but Lana loved it and was not going to ignore or not take it. There was still something magnetic about that dress which attracted Lana that she could not bear to neglect that gown and chose something else. It was the pink velvet with small sparkling golden beads which were emphasising the colour of the dress.
However, since Lady Noh was not allowed to refuse anything to Lana or make any remark unless it was asked or welcomed by her. That was why the head maid could not say anything but her reaction was evident that everything revolving around that dress was not good. Lana knew that Lady Noh did not approve that dress for her but she could not prevent herself from not leaving that gown. Thus, in her mind Lana had chosen the perfect gown for herself.
In order to make Lady Noh not to say anything else, Lana immediately made the remark so she would not refuse.
“And I would not take no for it, I really love this dress.”
Lana made it clear that she would not hold back from taking that dress. Lady Noh could potentially see that everyone was not going well but she also could not afford to put her life in danger by refusing Lana. No matter who or what she was, the woman was still the alpha’s desired woman and was his property.
"Very well. It is then."
Lady Noh gave in though hesitation was visible over her face, she gestured at other ladies as they headed towards the bathroom to prepare for Lana’s bath. Whereas Lana was having her own nightmarish thoughts upon seeing that dress, she felt a strong aura of dark emotions coming from that gown. There was something which made her believe that she wanted that dress, or perhaps that gown seemed to be calling her for some reason.
After all, magic was not something unusual or something forbidden in that kingdom!
'To whom does that dress even belong? Something is definitely related to this gown. But it is..so darn beautiful.'
Her thoughts had been occupying the brain with untold assumptions, Lana could not take her eyes off that pink gown. She simply sat back on the bed waiting for the signal from Lady Noh to bath, while all other men had vanished like the smoke just as they had appeared. Lana traced her hand gently over the hem of the dress as a smile appeared on her face.
Lady Noh came back to instruct Lana to go to have a bath, she was led through the door on the left side of the room which was closed since yesterday. Lana did not feel any urge to use the washroom or have a bath because of the thoughts which had clouded her brain. Lana found the luxurious set up prepared for her bath, the inbuilt bathtub was filled with rose water and rose petals were waiting to wash over her body.
Lana found herself in daze at the sight of the candles all around the circular bathtub. She had never seen such luxury or was even provided any similar thing back there at the brothel. Thus, Lana had no idea how to respond to what she had been seeing that morning after opening her eyes. Her subconscious mind made her recall Martha, who was provided such perks because she brought a heavy sum to the brothel.
Whereas, Lana had spent all her life struggling and coping with the average lifestyle. The current situation was beyond her expectations, since the pets or slaves of any kind of werewolves were not treated well. Even though the rumour had been circulating that they were provided with the perks and a proper freedom for certain things. But it appeared a white lie since those slaves and pets were prevented from communicating with the outer world.
But a few vouched who managed to escape or connect, that it was just a lie intentionally spread to keep the reputation of the werewolves. So, that humans and other diversities of kingdom Selene would never revolt or go against them or could complain to alpha Sahan who would have definitely taken some action. Well, he was the utmost supreme person who had the authority to make rules, to diminish them or to punish the people at his own will. And that was the reason why the counts and other werewolves from other statuses feared going against him.
