Curtis held her neck with one hand while his other was still clutching her ponytail. Leita was now stuck in the same position with her head a bit forward as she was confronting Sahan. While the beta was behind her and ready to snap her head on the alpha’s signal.
“Watch your mouth, human! An ungrateful swine like you always forget that right now you are speaking because of alpha’ mercy.”

The beta covered the distance between him and Leita as he brought his face closer to the woman. Whereas he did not stop there and reminded the woman why and how she was still alive. During the whole talk the alpha remained quiet and was unsure what to conclude from her actions because she still had not mentioned stealing. Sahan needed her verbal confession to decide or run an investigation about the whole matter.



“But why would you be grateful to the alpha for making amendments in the laws? People like you are lucky brats who got lifelong protection from him.”
The beta intentionally mentioned that as a reminder, Curtis knew that even if the alpha wished to kill any human he cannot. The rules were created by him to protect the humans who resided within the werewolf dominant kingdoms.

Then what was the beta Curtis trying to do if he was aware that the alpha can’t kill Leita? And why did Sahan call that human maid if he was the one who made that rule? It also raised the question that why was Leita provoking him, acknowledging that the only way to end her life was in her own hands? She could have potentially killed herself if the life she had been living was miserable for her.



“Lifelong protection, huh? Is this even a life? Serving here among the beasts knowing my life is at stake even if I am asleep?”
Leita snarled at him knowing that the alpha would react to her words now. She had chosen a sensitive topic to argue over when she was finally given the freedom to talk. The woman was still held by the beta but that did not stop her from verbally fighting for her rights.



"How is this life any better and where is the protection your alpha promised to us?"
Leita glanced at him scornfully knowing that the alpha would consider her words and might strengthen the security around the castle. Whereas Sahan stood there completely silent as if he had no intention of catering her nonsense and claims. When Leita saw that the alpha was not paying heed to her words the woman went further to provoke him.




It appeared that she was not a simple woman and had some solid plan to justify her actions and crazy antics. Because there was no way the alpha would have spared her after the words she had spouted. The whole darn situation appeared to be fishy to begin with, Leita paused for a moment before she snickered and resumed. This time the provocation went far too ahead than expected, which even surprised the beta Curtis who had no clue about it.




"You have committed a lot of sins, the debt is so huge that you can't even imagine. Your hands have the blood of all those innocents who lost their lives under your rule. Including my mistress. You dare call yourself an alpha when you are nothing but an egoistic coward who…."
Leita gritted as she spoke with an uncaring tone, she totally neglected Sahan' position and authority.



Before she could say anything further the beta yelled loudly, Curtis' voice made Leita realise what she had done.
"Outrageous!"
If the woman could withdraw her words she would have burned now it was too late. Leita flinched clearly upon the beta’s shouting as her eyes widened upon the situation. The woman bit her tongue in a regretful gesture but appeared calm and strong outwardly like before.



“STOP!”
This time the alpha spoke as he yelled loudly and snagged the attention of the bickering duo. Sahan could not bear it anymore that they both had been dragging the issue with irrelevant things. All he wished to know was about the dress whereas the conversation between Leita and Curtis drifted towards something totally unrelated to the matter.



“Both of you!”
Sahan gritted his teeth and uttered in a lower tone this time, he did not wish to create any scene. Especially when the matter involved a human entity, the whole situation could get controversial. The alpha shook his head in agitation and rubbed his temples as Sahan turned around. He took a few moments to calm himself and get his shit together because the claims raised by Leita had disturbed him once again.

Leita did not move but she could potentially feel that the alpha was not going to harm her.. Of course, Sahan could just imprison her if he wanted to and could always skip the interrogation period. Nobody was really in the position to oppose or question him, unless all the alpha and beta dukes and count came together to bring the supreme alpha lord Sahan Rhaziel down.

Sahan was still irritated when he moved again to face Leita, his beta was still holding the woman in the same position. Beta Curtis was unsure of the alpha’s next action that was why he kept his gaze fixated over the man. Alpha Sahan glared at his beta when he saw that Curtis was still standing closer to that human. How could he bear the sight of his personal confidant in a seemingly intimate position with a mere human.
