Leita was sure that Lana had no clue what she had been doing and that made her wonder if somebody trapped her or what. It was expected that the castle was filled with enemies and nobody was innocent as they appeared to be. She wished to press the matter more knowing that Lana felt terrified and at that moment she would rely on her.

Leita decided to approach Lana and try to gain her trust knowing that perhaps she was not the villain in the whole damn picture since she was also bought by the alpha and had no clue why she was there. And it also made Leita realise that perhaps Lana was also unaware of the supreme alpha’s curse. Thus, she approached her slowly, trying to appear non-threatening.



Lana could clearly feel the change in her tone which irked her but at that moment she also had no other option but to put faith in Leita. Since she appeared to be one of those people in Belle Morte who were well aware of what they had been doing. Lana’s attention was snagged by Leita’s voice as she looked at her with curiosity which was caused by the sudden sweet tone.

The screeching of the birds had grown louder which accompanied the banging sounds. Although both of the women were unable to grasp what could cause that but one thing was certain that either of them was the target of the vampires. But who? Nonetheless, Lana’s attention was now partially invested towards Leita who was sitting on the bed with her legs crossed as her gaze was darted towards her with full concentration.

Lana was still unable to feel comfortable let alone secure in that room despite the fact that she was well aware Leita was being guarded. It was highly expected because no matter a human or any other supernatural being, everyone loved their lives and nobody was willing to lose it. Since she had seen a shadow who she assumed was the beta Curtis, Lana tried to self soothe that she was safe. Hopefully!
"Hey! You, it's alright. I'm here to help you only because you also seem to be a human to me. Tell me, what is going on?"
Leita asked softly as she settled herself in the bed and placed her both elbows over the knees while intertwining her hands. The woman tried to appear trustworthy even though Leita could potentially sense that Lana was not a dumb one. However, it still amazed her that she boldly dared to offend the supreme alpha as if she would not get punished and get away with her deeds.
Lana was hesitant but she still looked up at Leita with a mix of fear and relief knowing that at the moment only she could help her. And since she mentioned something about being a human it also made her trust Leita acknowledging that she was also a human. An inwardly smile appeared on her face, if that was the case then Leita would definitely seek something from her too in return of the offered help.
"I-I don't know what's happening.”
Lana took the initiative this time and waved her hands in agitation as she stepped forward towards her. She also displayed an equal affectionate response as Leita’s eyes travelled towards her while Lana took bigger steps and sat on the couch which was opposite to the bed. This time Lana did not hold back from saying whatever was in her mind and spilled how she felt.
“I feel like I'm being watched all the time and I don't know who to trust or what to do. I did not want to be here in the first place and I still think I should not be here."
Lana stammered as she tried to make Leita understand her situation while keeping a neutral expression. Although agitation was visible over her face from the way she heaved a sigh while gritting as she spoke. Whereas Leita heard her whole confusion and venting as she could also related to that because her own experience ever since she came to Belle Morte was also similar.
Leita nodded sympathetically knowing how she must have felt and it reminded her of the day the beta Curtis was appointed to her safety. She could not fathom how Curtis could fall in love with her despite all the odds and dangers which were obvious. Thus, she tried to sound sympathetic to her genuinely with the underlying intention of extorting more information.

"I understand how you feel and I am sure it is indeed terrifying for you to adapt this soon. This castle can be very confusing and overwhelming so as the people living here. Hah! No one here is worthy of trust or even worthy of hearing your matters. But I'm here for you and I promise I won't let anything happen to you just because you are a human like me. Can you tell me more about what's been going on?"
Lana hesitated for a moment with the way she had been stressing over that human part which made her suspicious. But then again she had no other choice and if Leita would be willing to help her then she had the chance to leave Belle Morte, that was why she began to open up to Leita. Lana mentioned to her about her feeling like she was being followed, about strange noises near her room at nights, and about the gut feeling as if someone had been always watching her all the time.
Leita listened intently and then took Lana's matter seriously regarding the noise part.
“I am not sure who could be watching you over other than the guards planted by the supreme alpha. But the ones appointed by his highness are professionals and there is no way you can sense their presence rond you. Which means there is someone else who is spying on you, but we can figure this out together.”

“We can start by searching your room for any clues or evidence of anyone’s presence. And if we still can't find anything, we can go to the guards and get their help. After all it is the matter of our safety and by the law of kingdom Selene we should get extra protection because we are the only ones who are vulnerable here in this shitty realm.”
Lana nodded upon muddling to her suggestion which indeed made a lot sense to her. She was grateful for Leita's support not knowing what she needed in exchange for offering that help. Although Lana had already searched her room for any kind of signs of intrusion or tampering but she could not find anyone but it still did not negate her hunch that someone had been watching her.

She mentioned that to Leita who in turn reassured Lana that they would keep looking and find a solution. Leita was well aware that if Lana was a human then there must be some solid reason why the alpha had brought her there in the castle. And that the situation was more complicated than it appeared on the surface because after her mistress died the supreme alpha had never shown any interest in any woman and now suddenly he bought a sex slave. The whole situation was absurd. Leita made a mental note to keep her eyes and ears open about Lana and whatever she would do in the castle, and to investigate any suspicious activity or behaviour that might shed light on the matter of her been bought.

Leita also knew that she couldn't do it alone and for that she required the beta’s help, after all Curtis was the most trustworthy person and had always been by alpha Sahan’ side so there was no way he was unaware of the matter. She would need his help to uncover the truth and if Lana was someone who could aid in their freedom, in case if she was the true Luna, then Leita had to keep Lana safe. She decided to reach out to her only trusted ally in the Belle Morte and enlisted his support since they both were lovers.



With Leita by her side, Lana felt a little bit more at ease. She knew that she wasn't alone in her struggles and that Leita was there to help her. And with that knowledge, Lana felt a sense of hope and determination.
