Lana saw the crows which came down in the spiral form, it appeared as if a whole darn rain of black crows was coming from the sky. She could clearly see that birds were into a formation which indicated they were not ordinary ones. Lana understood the threat those crows posed since they were the vampires who were known to never leave their prey.

‘What is….why is this even happening?’

She was unsure why the vampires would suddenly invade the kingdom Selene. After all, they did not come to greet the alpha or anybody in the kingdom for no damn reason. Lana automatically assumed that they might have come after her due to her peculiar existence.

No doubt she herself knew that her tears were the most possible and easiest way to kill Sahan or at least weaken him. It was clear to her that she was a potential threat to the apha’s life and possibly his cure too. Lana was not blind to not see that whenever Sahan was with her his health improved visibly. The woman was well aware of her importance both as cure and wolfsbane!

‘Are they after me? No, no. Am I going to get used by people once again?’

She assumed that the vampires were probably going to use her against the supreme alpha or something similar. However, multiple such thoughts crossed her mind making the woman extremely conscious and anxious about her safety. Although deep down Lana also knew that she could not trust Sahan either, he was the same man who threw her away in some other man’s arms.

Lana stepped back in fright upon seeing the swarm of crows coming down from the roof. It made her think the forbidden and punishable thought that perhaps they have killed the supreme alpha. Although it was the most expected assumption considering how else those birds would dare to hover over Belle Morte if Sahan was alive. Nonetheless, Lana did not wish to get used, captured or enslaved by anybody else now.

‘I have to fend for myself, if I stay here I will definitely get killed by someone.’

The woman decided immediately when she saw the crows almost reaching the mid of the pen arches. They did not come inside the castle, instead hovered right outside the huge window. It appeared as if they were not intending to harm anyone rather just threaten the werewolves for something.

Nonetheless, Lana realised that she had to protect herself and for that she needed to run. However, there was something else going on at the back of her head. She took one step backwards as the woman immediately ran through the arcade.

‘This is the perfect timing. I have to hide somewhere for now where no one can see me and when these vampires are gone I can easily sneak away.’

The woman had already planned everything in her head acknowledging that the arrival of the vampires was a big distraction. Even though Lana knew that after getting out of Belle Morte eventually Sahan will find her out. But she hoped to get out of the kingdom by the time Alpha Sahan would send people to look for her. Or so she hoped! Lana took even bigger steps to get out of that arcade as soon as she could.

She took the first right turn with a blank head because thinking about her own room which was faraway was the stupidest idea. It did not matter where she would hide as long as she was safe thus she reached for the first door of that arcade and opened it. The woman slammed shut the door behind her and gasped for her breath, she completely neglected her surroundings for a moment.

“Who are you?”

Lana was pulled out of her thoughts by a feminine voice which made her flinch reflexively. It was the utmost natural reaction coming from her knowing that not everyone in the castle was her well wisher. Perhaps none of them was! Thus, she had to stay cautious and keep her ears and eyes open to observe people and situations to avoid getting into the mess.

She haphazardly turned around to see the source of the voice and saw a woman standing behind her. Lana had no idea who she was but now one thing was certain that the woman could potentially ruin her plan of escaping Belle Morte. Because if she was a staff member of the castle then the woman would definitely not let her leave at any cost. Lana was left with only one option which was to chat a bit with the lady and then leave the room with an excuse.

‘If I leave the room right now she will get suspicious about me. Breathe Lana, breathe a bit. Focus and think.’

Lana paused for a moment as all the thoughts and plans once again bombarded in her head. Whereas the other woman present in the room, Leita, grew agitated by her goof response. The situation had already grown worse because both of the women were now under the same roof.

“What? Will you utter anything, you monstrous cunt?”

Leita spoke with the derogatory terms making it evident that she assumed Lana was also a she- wolf. The two of them stared at each other blankly for a moment when Lana finally decided to speak. She consumed some time to form her words which would not offend Leita since she could be some higher staff member.

“No, you have totally misunderstood me, miss.”

Lana took one step while Leita cautiously ebbed which made it clear that both of them were mildly scared and suspicious of each other. Leita was alone in the room which appeared to be an empty bed chamber since the condition was telling it was unused but still fancy. And that was exactly why both of them had doubts for each other.

“I am not one of them, I was brought here forcefully for the alpha.”

As soon as she finished explaining herself, the brief introduction made Leita clench her fists. Lana’s eyes travelled from her innocent looking face towards her hands immediately. Leita gritted her teeth as her rage fumed over knowing her identity, the woman was unable to bear her presence in the room.
